BUCKETHEADS is a Star Wars Fan Film from the Stormtroopers' perspective. Shot in September 2017 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, it was a wonderful journey, with over 76 people directly involved in this effort to tell a Star Wars Story from the Imperial point of view.
This film wouldn't have been possible without the involvement of the 501st Legion, Vader's fist.

I don’t want a movie of this. I want a whole series. This was so entertaining to watch and a great departure from the typical fan films.
Donovan Ulmet they had us in the first half not gonna lie
Hi Donovan! I'm Donovan!
I agree. I wanna see more.
Yes
This was really awesome
This is my new favourite fan-film. I really like how you guys incorporated a new side to the Empire. Beautiful CGI as well.
Also...that metaphor at 2:54
Beauty job everyone.
Yea
Thanks! That means a lot coming from you :)
Looking forward to the Vader series!!
Agreed. This was great.
Fancy seeing you here
Possible collaboration aye, Star Wars Theory? Keep it shh shhhh...
I love how detailed and accurate this film is, like having the number "501" on the thermal imploder, showing that these guys are apart of Vader's Fist. Also I love how much it humanizes the troopers, showing that they're real people with loved ones back home, same as the rebels.
The only problem is that the 501st was one of the last, if not the last, fully clone unit. Even if the all looked like the one trooper who takes off his helmet there would have been no females in the unit.
@Freddie Miller Jr I believe the stormtroopers added to the 501st during the reign of the Empire were conscripts.
@@plagueis5013 I might be wrong, but I think the 501st was the only pure clone legion in the Empire. I think Star Wars Theory has a video on it somewhere. Who knows though. Maybe they picked up a specialized Stormtrooper or two for a mission.
@@brycesmith5784 Clones Åge Twice as fast, all Clones are elderly men by the time of this Fan Films Story.
I guess Vaders Fist was the last pure clone legion, but not anymore.
@@okooo3148That's probably because this takes place some time after the destruction of the first Death Star, because about half of the 501st was caught in the explosion.
Ah I see Mark Meer (Commander Shepherd) is in this, glad to see the dude take part in passion projects like these, he always does a good job... Especially as the commander
I knew I recognized that voice from somewhere!
Shepard!
Where to ?
I'm sad there aren't more comments pointing out the best commander ever
i thought that was his voice, i guess i was right.
From a musical standpoint, it’s really interesting and quite refreshing to hear the dark, brass tones you’d usually expect to hear as leitmotifs for The Empire inverted, instead used for the Rebels. It’s an ingenious use of music, and how to subvert people’s perspectives through it! Well done!
Username and pic check put
Huh?
@@Dragonbard yeah, I'm not sure what he was getting at either
I had to rewatch it to catch that. Super clever use of the score.
@Stephen MorigeauHAHAHA. why are you calling me a dick, man? Whatever he said is your idea of "easily perceptible?" I dont even believe your explanation of it is right, lmao. Do you even know what "username checks out" means? Apparently not. What he said made zero sense and your explanation is even worse. Bite me
Dude, you guys got Commander Shepard to voice in your movie. Instantly badass... 10/10
i knew i recognized the voice of the commander from somewhere
I guess I couldn't have picked a better time to watch some fan films as Bucketheads is easily the best I've ever seen. Everything about it is just spectacular. The costume design, the sets, the music, the VFX, the acting, the characters, the writing -- all sublime. Easily mistakable for an official release, perhaps even better than some official releases we've seen. The icing on the cake, though? Mark Meer. Commander Shepard himself.
This is my favorite Star Wars fan film on the citadel.
IRONHILLdwarf *
They’re both really good. Hoping Star Wars theory’s is good too
What about Maul Fanfilm?
It's heart breaking when a 12 minute long fan made film has a better story line and drama than the last two Star Wars movies.
I’m craving a Star Wars Band of Brothers style tv show. This was a little taste of it especially with that ending credits sequence
Same tho
Rafael Delacosta don’t stop there, movie!
HELL YEAH!!!! That's an AWESOME idea!!!!!
"In the end, a soldier is a soldier" this quote is a great fit for the end scene
That was so good! I really want another episode to this! I feel like it deserves even more. Feels like a TV show that I would binge watch for so long!!!! Loved every minute!!!! That ending credits I can see being the intro!!!!

I (and others) have heavily suggested they make another one. You guys are making another one, right...? RIGHT?!

Jay Simpson if they made something like rouge one for stormtroopers, that would be great. It will never happen, but it would be nice
Could never be canon, the stormtroopers actually shot something.
I don't know why that particular stereotype stuck with them, stormies are the best marksmen in the Galaxy
Interesting fact in the starwars episode 4 book Darth Vader told them to miss since he wanted them kept alive the heroes and in rogue one they actually shot something as well
@@LeonidSaykin it's an annoying stereotype
I mean, in the first 10 minutes of the first ever starwars movie, the Stormtroopers managed to kill a hallway full of rebels even though they were the ones in the fatal funnel, and in ESB the 501st overwhelms the defenses of hoth easily

So I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan-- I've seen a few of the films and enjoyed them, but never sought out Star Wars content.
That being said-- I love this film. This is something I would recommend to people, like me, who know pretty much nothing about Star Wars lore, but simply appreciate short film.
Thanks so much for this experience. Five out of five stars.
13 minutes. Better than 2 hours of The Last Jedi

hahahahaha was literally just about to comment "I should go" :L
"We'll bang okay"
I thought that was him! I'd hear that voice from a mile away.
The hard breathing sounds in the helmet was a wonderful touch. You could hear the desperation and adrenalin in it. So very different from Vader's labored but even and menacing breaths.
Commander Shepard as a Stormtrooper? I think Vader can take the day off for this one......
no palpatine no vader, the empire only needs Shepard
Glad I'm not the only one that seems to have noticed that
Here I am wondering "is that him?, is that Fucking Shepard?"
I thought the same thing lmao. Makes sense though. Commander Shepard is now serving as an Imperial Officer.
Report to the emperor as soon as possible! We'll bang ok?!
That dude looked alot like Ryan Reynolds
And sort of sounded like him.
I was just going to say the same but I scrolled down first.
When the captain came back to stop the lip service it all the sudden registered in my head. Holy shit that’s commander Shepard!
I'm not the only one who vastly prefers the empire over the rebels, correct?
I'm with you. The Rebels are literally called Rebels.
@@nationalsocialist4843 yeah they're reckless smh
Empire actually is ordered to take prisoners while rebels just shoot any unarmed engineer just because of having a insignia on their helmet
Give me a break and write it in German next time, wunderkind.
I'm with you. No government is perfect but at least the Empire brought order.
13 minutes long and it blows away anything disney has done so far, very good job.
Everything about this from the new perspective of humanity all the way to the outro.
I don’t think I’ve subbed faster then I just did in my life.
It's official. Fan films are better than Disney films. And they are only like 10 min long
Hope you don't mind paying the cinema access fee to watch this ten minute movie then!
The reason that ten-minute fan films seem better than full-length movies is because there is far less that can go wrong in ten minutes. It's like comparing a short story to a novel; it's apples and oranges.
No. %99.99 of them are just as worth less. They brainstorm and give them self a deadline to finish it.
The best SW fan film I like is rescue mission that one actually has a meaning full story and the acting is spot on.
Just wait until I release my projects. Peoples faces will be melting off.
@ themetalstickman: HAHAHAHAHA
Gray Jedi if you’re gonna be like that, I’m done talking to you
For those of you who didn't pick it up, the voice of the Stormtrooper leader is Mark Meer, the voice of Shepherd from Mass Effect.
Why is a 13 minute fan short infinitely better than the last two mainline films? This was absolutely great
DaKcBomb I agree
this is what I want from star wars now, gritty, realistic, raw, and brutal
This was beautifully shot, praise to who was in charge of the photography and the editing here.

Sean Moon to be fair America and the Empire has more similarities. Not that I’m calling the government corrupt or tyrants. It’s just that the Empire destroyed a planet, Americans nuked two cities. The army of both sides come with the same uniform and weapons with state of the art technology. Plus rebels can be called freedom fighters to some, but terrorists to others.
@@KILLERDUDE5023 Actually Hiroshima and Nagasaki were civilian targets with no reason to bomb but fear. Alderaan was actually a hideout for hundreds of terrorist, they were economically supporting the terrorist rebellion, they were creating weapons for them etc etc so it was literally a millitary target. This is truly excellent Star Wars made by people who care what Star Wars is.
This is great! I’ve always found it funny how the empire decided to make their scouts’ armor white 😆
Smooth dolly shots, shallow depth of field, passable CGI. This doesn’t quite look like Hollywood movie but it sure could pass for a network TV series. Very professional. I’m impressed.
Did you guys get Mark Meer involved? The commander sounds like him?
That is indeed Mark
I don’t really like fan star wars films, because they aren’t really well made. This one is an exception. The short film was cinematically so well executed.. Good job and keep creating awesome stuff.

Stormtroopers with good aim? unheard of.
That was freaking awesome! More please!
When a star wars fan film is better than the triligy
I was sceptical at first but hot damn this is good
"Sector is clear"
Not sure if this was intentional but a great Battlefront 2 reference :D
to be fair i thought the battlefront 2 campaign gave storm troopers some humanity, having two stormtroopers join the rebellion after the destruction of the 2nd deathstar... but this does it better. not by having them join the rebellion, but just showing that some families had different views and one half probably would've favoured the empire more than the rebellion.
One of the best fan film ever
Everything about this is amazing, Also if every battle with foot soldiers in star wars was like that, it would be amazing. Also it would be difficult to make lots of battles to that same level rather then just one but still would be awesome.
bruh what are these 'fan films', is it just me who would rather watch this quality of film than some of the movies??? man this is great., holy shit man theres so much that can be done with this world that Lucas gave us, we need to take the reigns and do mre stuff like this, F Disney.
Sadly, When too many get involved, the story, the characters, and the Core Heart of the Creation of the film loses depth because it is traded for Special effects! of course the Politics as well!
Stormtroopers are pretty good shots when they aren’t fighting main characters
I think you mean "When they aren't being ordered to not kill main characters"
Yeah man plot armor makes beskar look like bantha poodoo
@Unknown Gamer Leia and Tarkin both state that the Stormtroopers let them leave the Death Star.
On Bespin, Vader needed Luke's friends as bait. If they were dead, they'd be bad bait.

did they actually hit anyone here ? I just saw suppresion fire and a grenade '.'
Just look at the first scene in a New Hope, A squad of Stormtroopers were breaching a narrow corridor with a dozen blasters pointed at them and curbstomped the rebels, only taking 2 casualties.

half the reason the clone wars tv show is so good too
agreed, but the whole point of stormtroopers was to make them faceless. i heard stormtroopers were killed if they took off their helmets while on duty.
Garrett Gold Not killed. Around other stormtroopers they can do whatever they want with their equipment. The reason why they don’t show their faces is because rebels film their engagements with imperials, and if a stormtrooper shows a face him and his family will be targeted. Though this only happens if said stormtrooper comes from an outer rim planet with a good amount of rebel empathy.
