GORDON 20-in-1 Multi-Tool - Item 59617 hftools.com/ap...
I just got my Gordon yesterday and I love it and I'm placeing my Gerber tool up and using my Gordon for work 😊.
Nice work. Glad to hear you like it. I’m quite impressed this far using it. 👍🏻
Just purchased mine about an hour ago with the 20% coupon. I collect tools for fun. I am sure I will find a use for this one day.
I think many of us on this channel share your same passion. 😆

I concur:
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!
Cool tool!
Got one 2 days ago now. It's really nice. Made very well almost a complete replica of the wave. Great thing is its a fraction of the price of a wave. Trade off no 25 year warranty. Don't hesitate great tool. If they do this to other Leatherman tools Leatherman will be forced to lower there prices.
Yes it a great replica with a some additional goodies. No warranty but can’t beat it at the price. 👍🏻
It may be too close a replica. If not made by Leatherman for HF, the company could do what it did to Crescent.
@@psdaengr911 definitely not made by Leatherman.
Just got one today!
IMPRESSED!!!
I already like it better than my 30 yr old "Leatherman"!
At this price get 2 !
I'm "Older" at 74 and rertired!
I've always tried to be as close to a Renaissance man as possible.
You know, a "MacGyver" of today! Independent, expert in at least "Something" and a Journeyman in MANY!
Having a Tool-kit with me at all times is just "ME"!
I now have One on my Work-around the house pants and another afixed to my Going to the Doctor's pants! LOL
That’s pretty cool. Glad you like yours and are equally impressed. In a side note I purchased 2 as well. Bargain at that price! 👍🏻
Unfortunately all the big name tool companies have become lazy. Smaller tool brands are doing some great stuff.
I have a Leatherman and do not need a new knife but I'm getting that Gordon anyway.
That’s the spirit. 👍🏻
I'm a longtime fan of Leatherman. I've purchased alot of their products before the price increases. When I see how much things cost now I smh.
$120 for a Wave
$35 for nylon pouch. $32 for a bit kit.
Most people in the market can't justify those prices.
I get that. I own quite a few products if theirs as well. They used to be a very feasible option. Now they have a lot of overseas competition at a fraction of the price.
@@ThingsMen taking advantage of father's day to get one of these. Thanks for the review.
I have the newer Wave. I’ll pick one up this weekend for that price! I’ve been a Leatherman guy forever but for the money it’s hard to beat. Nice review and great channel.
Yea can’t pass this up at that price. Thanks for commenting. Consider subscribing and liking so you get to see more videos. 👍🏻
Bought one today. When using the scissor the spring slips on it. I’m really impressed
Congratulations. Slips in a good way or not? If it’s flawed send it back for a replacement. 👍🏻
@@ThingsMen slips to make the scissors inoperable
@@hamptonconsultants4815 gotcha. Might as well replace. 👍🏻
I might have to pick one of these up and try it out while the 20% sale is still on... Used to have a Leatherman years ago and I lost it, never got around to buying another.
I actually started carrying a Fastback, but I do miss having the pliers
It’s a great plier compared to all the other knock offs. It’s as good or even better than the original. And at $32 on sale it’s a no brainer. You’ll enjoy this multi tool for sure 👍🏻.
Grabbed one of these just to try it out, not bad for the price. Keeping it my truck.
Glad to see you liked it. 👍🏻
Looks fantastic especially when you consider the price
Thank you sir
Agreed. Well rounded tool.
Exactly!👍🏻
Agreed. 👍🏻
I have a Wave plus and I really like it. I also have a Gerber that I like but I think the Gordon could replace them both. I would be interested to see if the accessories are interchangeable.
This is definitely more in line with the wave plus regarding shape and function. I think many accessories will be interchangeable.
Or to use the glass breaker, you pull off the clip. If you even have it on there
True but that wouldn’t work for a majority of people. Still think it could have been better placed. 😉
You can’t compare it to the old wave. It’s more comparable to the new style wave not the original wave.
In some ways you can but I mentioned it several times in the video that the current generation would be most accurate. 👍🏻
It's basically a clone of the 2nd generation Wave.
@@tomperone9338 correct.
Wondering if anyone else would like to see the can opener and bottle opener replaced with something more useful. If so, do you have asuggestions?
Always open to new tools 🛠️ 👍🏻
Drink more beer.
There's been many times I've saved someone's lunch on the job site by having a can opener on my multi tool
All sold out in my area.
That’s actually pretty typical. After about 2-3 months the nostalgia wears off. Hang in there. 👍🏻
Personally I pretty much ignore Harbor Freight. Bought everything they sell that's worth buying already and most of what they sell that I don't have is trash. Much of it used to be decent but now isn't worth picking up even if it's free with coupon. I have lots of their impact sockets and a few of their ratchets and related hand tools. Have seen videos about how nice this multi tool is so I thought maybe I should go ahead and grab one. Of course it's out of stock at all the nearby stores. Fine, I already have a few similar tools and they are damn good so HF doesn't get a sale. Can't stock what people want to buy so keep your store full of junk. I can get cable ties and microfiber towels lots of places and even when they are free with coupon I just drive on by.
Give it time. It’s the same for everything they sell. They put out 5 in each store to see how well it performs. Then if it’s a decent product they are playing catch up with inventory. Use the app and make sure it’s in stock at your store before you make the trip. 👍🏻
I want one
@@patriotsleepercell4060 you should grab one. 👍🏻
@@ThingsMen not available it says soon.
Great review! Quick question. I'm not super familiar with the Gordon brand. I could tell, but is there a lifetime warrant on these like many other tools at HF? Thanks!
Great question. As far as I can tell it’s not lifetime. That would then put you in the 90 day range but you might chat with your local store. Mine has been very forgiving.
@@ThingsMen Thank you!
@@ThingsMen If you order this on line from harbor freight, you get a lifetime warranty. Ordered mine yesterday and it specified lifetime.
@@terrylaw3942 oh really. Where did they mention it?
If you order on line, you get the lifetime warranty. I did earlier today.
I have never bought a leatherman or a gerber that I liked or that the pliers and blades didn’t break. Multi tools overall are useless except for an emergency situation don’t waste your money on any of them you will probably be left disappointed. Post script I have owned no less than 16 different multis never found one that was durable or really useful 70 full years of living and being a tradesman I have more practical experience with these items than the average person DONT WASTE YOUR 💰
@@santafedave1051 I would agree that you would never use one as a full time tool to replace other dedicated tools in your tool bag. I would treat them as a backup instead. 👍🏻
The Harbor Freight tool looks like it simply copied a Leatherman original. It is easy to have a cheaper product if you copy (rather than develop) another, manufacture with lower quality standards, and don't manufacture in the USA.
The quality is there. It’s a great replica.
@@ThingsMen - It is still ripping off an American company that paid for the R&D and that employs American workers.
Buying or promoting knockoffs of American products hurts American companies and American workers.
@@my_dear_friend_ they had a good 20 years of protection under their patent. I also own at least a half a dozen Leatherman products. I’m a firm believer that competition breeds innovation.
@@my_dear_friend_I’m an American worker and with this economy it hurts me to pay 3x as much as it would for a quality Chinese knockoff. Even Trump isn’t dumb enough to make his maga hats in America because of the price difference.
picked up one over the weekend. Had to get the manager to get one from the back. Did not have on the shelf.
Yea that’s pretty typical with new releases. I’ve always had to do the same. At least for about the first month.
same
It is okay. I still like Leatherman's 420hc over 5cr15mov. The quality is decent. The best thing s the increased amount of Bronze washers.
We all have favorites. However for under $40 this is a great buy whether you like Leatherman more or not.
Buy the Gordon online and get a lifetime warranty. $40 vs $120? No brainer.
One better. Get with a coupon and be in the $30’s. 👍🏻
NO LIFETIME WARRANTY. CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST STATED.
@@Lifespot-ep7vr as figured.
got a link to the Gordon website? :)
I picked up the Gordon one and it’s crap, I did a UA-cam review on mine. There are definitely some quality control issues and poor metal being used.
Interesting that it was crap. What didn’t you like?
Pretty sure Leatherman has their parts made outside the USA. However the multitools are supposed to be assembled in the US.
@@grumpyuncle. I believe you are correct. Main pliers are made in US while the accessories outside US but I could be wrong.
Is it made in China or Taiwan?
@@danielruprecht8932 pretty sure it’s China. I tossed the box though.
@@ThingsMen I'd prefer supporting Taiwan but what can you do 🤔 I'll probably get it. Thanks 👍
@@danielruprecht8932 me as well but it’s all we get. The quality is above expectations. 👍🏻
Harbor freight head multi tool way back when too but they are cheaply made
Yes glad to see a vast improvement. 👍🏻
I'm buy my Gordon today very impressive really nice, good vid thanks

Isn’t this really a Charge clone and not a Wave clone?
It takes from both but more so the Gen 2 wave. 🌊
Ok to leave in a car glove box for if or when you may need it! Its never going to perform like the wave!
It’s a virtual copy with improvements. I think you would be surprised.
@thingsmen
I well may pick one up just for laughs 😃
Bonus: if your name is Gordon you have yourself a personalized Wave for forty bucks😅
My uncle thanks you. 😉
