Hey Natalie!
She was my instructor when I switch from fixed wing to rotorcraft.
What a great Woman she is. Nothing better than seeing someone who lives their passion.
She is a great Pilot!! She was my flight instructor! And a Good Friend! Way to go Girl!!!!
Worked for Erickson’s starting in the late 70’s amazing helicopter
She's as brilliant as rare on that job. She's just one of a kind.
Awesome job you go girl!!!!!
Very inspirational Natalie! Tks. I'm 50 and training for ATPL A, so I do understand what working hard for a dream means. I believe...
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. Keep pushing forward!
I was a crew chief on the CH-54 Sky Crane for a few years. I had great trust in SIkorsky. Great memories!
Awesome! Love Erickson! What an amazing vehicle, and the pilots that fly it!
Natalie, you are one cool girl. I love it when a person says "this is what I want to do" and then does it. A great example for anyone, male or female.
You need money for training and that’s preventing most of us flying.
@@southwest3671 join the ranks ... as an officer, and then move on
I teach 1-3rd grade. I think the girls in my class would enjoy this. Thank You!
Ok, here is my take. I have been flying helicopters for 37 years. I hung up my flight suit & helmet last year. I managed to survive 37 years and never crashed or got shot down. Been there done that, Military, Civilian EMS, Firefighting etc. I was an IP and an IFE in the military.
With this said, I have flown with many female pilots, just like male pilots there are good ones and there are those who I wouldn't let them fly my dog IFR. I had a female pilot try her best to kill me one time in the clouds.
Now watching this video I must say I am quite impressed. This Captain has to have her "S" together to make Captain with Erickson and in an S64. That is an impressive helicopter. I have never flown one but given the opportunity, I would have jumped on it. My hat is off to this Captain. Just remember, Checklist and NEVER EVER just assume. That old dude or even that young dude sitting next you he can easily do something stupid and l kill you. never push the envelope EVER, NEVER try to impress anyone on your abilities, Master your cockpit management skills. Fly Safe!!!!
Well said Mich. I am not a pilot, but I can still tell you speak with wisdom.

This is a job a woman can do if she has the skills. Now lets see some deep sea fisherwomen. Hell, lets see any woman do any local job anywhere that is hard manual labor. I remember in my ear 20s working at a Grocery Warehouse that distributed to the stores. You have to pull a min of 240 cases per hour without mistakes or you were out. I remember 3 women coming to try the job. They all quit before the first break on the first day.
@Breaking News Ugly and fat chicks will all night and then wake you up with one.
@Breaking News Wait, that is exactly what I meant to say. All women do a wonderful job at it. I don't know what we would do without women in the workplace either. Always there with a wonderful attitude and never losing their cool. I have never heard a woman complain about anything at work. Unlike men, women get along with each other in the work place too. Women work so great together. CHeck out this amazing woman doing her job. The ingenuity it took to come up a way to her job faster is amazing. ua-cam.com/video/lwsH96EOuyE/v-deo.html
Nataly the difference is that you do not fly just a Helicopter ? You fly a Sky crane a beast of a rotorwing and that makes a destinction with other Helo pilots. We proud of you !
She's doing it and the haters are not.
The world still needs people like you I salute you
That's some rig you've got there, Natalie. Thanks for the video. Very informative.
Thats badass....my dream job right there, awesome.
The helicopter has an interesting history. I was a test evaluator for the 11th Air Assault Division, which first employed the Sikorsky Skytrain. It had a large pod underneath to carry the division HQ, and the pod could be traded out for a cargo pod. You can only imagine what it looks like with a huge container in the empty space. The 11th air assault became the 1st Cavalry Division when they went to Vietnam. I went later on and got an air medal commanding troops from a Huey, but never saw that helicopter again. i was told it could not be kept flyable in combat conditions. So it finally found a role in peacetime. I think they are fifty years old.
The pilots over there were unbelievable.
Welcome home, Brother from another 1st Cav vet!
I think it's called the Sky Crane......😏
Welcome home, troop.
I edited the mechanics manuals for these helicopters, working with the mechanics, and created from scratch the manual for the FIRE HOSE for the FOAM FIRE TANK that saves lives putting out fires!
Thanks Natalie, very inspirational presentation. Wishing you years of happy flying ahead and good risk management!
Respect and very nice Helicopter. greetings from a German Firefighter

To fly is heavenly, to hover divine. Rotary wing aviation there is simply no substitute. FLY NAVY!!!
There is a lady Helicopter pilot working on one for the offshore oil Drilling Riggs off Newfoundland and Labrador. She is from Mary's Harbour,Labrador and Newfoundland. She flies crew and supplies from the mainland to the offshore rigs which could be 300 plus KM.offshore.
Natalie pursue your dreams. Great flying skills. I have watched some videos on this type of machine , AND , you have to be DAM GOOD.

I would love to know who the pilot was who dropped one of their aircraft into a remote lake in Victoria, Australia during the firefighting season a couple of years ago.... Took a long while to get it out again...
Well done Natalie.
You go girl!
u go gal !
It's amazing how easy helicopters are to fly..
The chief pilot asking why you want to do this. My answer back would be to ask him the same question! Male or female, you fly because of your personal love of aviation. Period!!
...and beautyfull woman.....brave...heroe.....good...!!!
Great video!
Way to go Erickson sky-crane .
Natalie - you rule. Rock on!

Way to go kiddo! Nothing like a woman Heli pilot that commands a beast like these!
Way to go young lady
I'll say that is one Brave woman looking at that helicopter and all the little intricate parts that has that could go wrong I wouldn't want to be on the field when they started much less fly it

I watched these Ant Eater Helicopters in 1990 at NUMI...New United Motors Inc in Fremont CA...These Helis came in one Saturday to sit the Air Handlers on top of the Building where they were making the First T100 Toyota Trucks....The Building was so Big a Crane wouldn't work so they brought in these Coptors....I went in just to watch.....🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
love you so much
Go Girl
Congratulations Natalie... 👌👍😎👆🚁
Cool video but would have liked more background as to where she got her hours, was it military or civilian to help others with this as a goal.

very interesting and good Job.
Sweet! When i was in the cargo industry our best pilots were the women. They would finesse the aircraft where the men would manhandle them in the same conditions. The women had fewer squawks, tires and brakes lasted considerably longer, and they would fly in conditions that some of the men whined about. The women were pilots. Some of the men were just operators. When i get my Falcon, i am going to do my best to have an all women crew. Congrats on being a Captain. Be safe!
nice
ME ENCANTAN ME VUELVEN LOCO LAS MUJERES VALIENTES COMO ESTÁ HERMOSA DAMA.
Gal with gall !
Wonder if this helicopter is in production.
Last one of the production line was in 1975 although Erickson have been totally rebuilding them since 1992
kewl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a great flying job you've got. Why is there no Attitude Indicator on the Skycrane? That's what stood out in the cockpit shot.
Richard Givens who needs an attitude indicator look out side. No IFR flying use your eyes
legal Adorei Parabéns...
Super Flugzeug mit Super Frau
