Well to all the haters, I locked my car keys in my car at my apartment and it worked for me so leave this man alone. This is really helpful for the people who actually need the help!
totally correct we just locked ourselves out of our car at home too :) thankful
machc1234golf r
same here xD lol
Does it set the alarm off? I gotta dog that freaks out to loud noises and it's almost impossible to calm him down
Why do people continue to say thieves are watching this video. Everyone locks their keys inside a car at least once in their life!! Older cars u can do the jiggle method as well...we have a 94 acura integra and my husband just locked keys inside...we wont be trying this method but GROW UP PEOPLE...BE HATERS SOMEWHERE ELSE THIS MAN IS TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE!!
Thank you very much!!! I was in the process of moving and locked my keys in my Dodge truck. This method worked perfectly! I sat through several bogus videos before I found this one but now I'll include this channel in my favorites.
Thank you so much. We didn't have that wedge but something similar and got in. My sister is literally queen of locking keys in cars so now she knows what to do rather then having to pay $50+ dollars each time. She won't use a hide a key so this is the next best thing.
What if there is no battery in the car.
This method works. I had locked my keys in when camping and we ended up using a hatchet as a wedge and a metal stick for roasting Hot Dogs over the fire to pop the switch.
It’s amazing how much flex a vehicle door has, and it still springs back.
This comment is what helped! Thank you so much!
Thanks a lot!! Robert Holcomb and team. I had an emergency situation at my home today. Our 4 month old kitten had somehow got into our neighbors Ford Ikon car and the neighbors are away for 2 days (it was inside the car since noon...was very ill) . My wife and kid were panicking and deeply concerned. i couldn't reach our neighbor for permission to break the glass, Luckily i watched your video, prepared a hook using a cloths hanger, used a chisel i had at home as wedge. After about 15 mins of trying, i was able to open the door..thanks a lot again..cheers:)
Fantastic tip!! Many thanks.Just got into my 2004 Ford mondeo this way.Bent the top back edge of the drivers door back & opened the same door from the inside with the bent hook rod .Took about half an hour.Fortunately I had a 4ft length of 3mm dia wire rod handy. Not sure an opened up coat hanger would be long enough.
Dammit I locked my wedge and long rod in the trunk. I knew I should've put them in my wallet.
Billy Batson rofl😁😂😆
I was thinking just that. You don't carry a wedge around with you all the time.
Some cars won't let you lock the door with the keys inside, while other cars don't care. That is why I keep a door key in my billfold.
Don't worry, just carry an Axe or Knife around on you at all times and you can make a wedge and long rod out of a nearby tree or window frame.
Billy Batson dammit your right. ...good one
I actually locked my tools in my trunk one night. Had call wrecker to pop my locks. Only $25
wrong about one thing... the sinking feeling comes when u watch the lock Smith unlock ur running car in five seconds.( and charges $80)
I promise to recommend him *EL_HACK71* on Instagram got my car unlock 🔑 with software service,
😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
¡ relate too much
I’m waiting on a locksmith to come unlock my work van (120) lmao I have the proper tools but all my van doors are locked and I don’t have access to the right tools. Fck.
@@dylansimmons885same with my VE, all my useful tools in boot because I am doing sub/amp install. Bloody frustrating 😬
Very useful method.
I just used and it saved me to break glass to get keys out.
Thank you
great ideal. I used a book and a screw driver to wedge door and a tree branch as a rod.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Lionel Emilio instablaster ;)
@Zechariah Lukas i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Zechariah Lukas It worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass!
@Lionel Emilio Happy to help xD
I drive an American car (Chevrolet Corsica 1991)
Even the local car dealer specialized in American Cars had the hardest time opening the door when I locked the keys in. Took him an hour to open it. I came, used a small rod to push the door open, took me 10 minutes :D
IDIOTS CANT USE SPARE KEY BEHIND WHEEL, U MUST BE JOEpedo VOTER
I was told to open the passenger side of your car door as not to damage the wiring on the drivers. And to use some dish wash detergent as a lubricant to use on the wedge. Locksmithing 101 ( Locksmith Ledger ) .

Hey! Thanks a lot, from a Mass local. I used a piece of plastic I found in the garage and a coat hanger; Worked like a charm.
Great I'll just pull that device out of my ass to unlock my car.
Andrew Vayne lmfaooooooo im crying dawg
take it
Wait, how did it get in your ass in the first place?!
It's a pole, if you can't find any of the usual in your ass you can find another. Pretty simple really.
What I would do is get a gun 🔫
Annnnnd...if we're NOT at home, just WHERE are we supposed to pull these items out of?? Oh wait, I keep'em in the TRUNK...lemme just unlock that and.....oh.
That's an awesome tip. I'll go out and get some of these, and keep it in my trunk so I can wait for the locksmith to unlock my car, because I have no where else to store this aside from in my trunk. Which will be useless if I lock the keys in my car. This is more of a tip for "What to do if you're at home, and you lock your keys in your car."
EXACTLY ;-))) TRY USE WIRE HANGER ,, U CAN HANG IT ANYWHERE UNDER CAR ;-))) OR ASK NEIGHBOR, WORKS LIKE MAGIC
Using the wiper blade metal is a great trick to remember
We did this using a wire coat hanger but we wedged from the top of the window close to the lock as possible. We did this back in the late 80s. Sometimes you can slide the window down with your hands just enough to get the wire in but that can be challenging.
funniest part is im watching this abs own that same make and model. love my crv
This video totally save my keys :) I went to Wally-World and made a key right after!! THANK YOU!! :D
Thank you for teaching the car nappers how to do it properly. :)
+JIM MAGNO They don't do this, easier to break a window!
+Karen Mitchell It must be, I have seen where thieves have broke a window out to get in a truck that was left unlocked because it had nothing in it anyways and they not only broke the window to get in a unlocked truck, the broke the dash trim to steal a factor GM radio that wasn't nothing fancy.
+JIM MAGNO Thats where the alarm comes in, they will set it off if you have one. Or remember, the Club? That's a great little tool if you have to park on the street.
+JIM MAGNO no point in opening a car unless you have the ignition key!
Deborah Frenette I used to know a guy that would steal cars (mostly newer trucks like F-250's and F350's) and Im pretty sure he didn't carry the keys around for them, he would steal a car, have to park it somewhere because he saw another car he needed to steal I wish the fools who have busted out a window on my car the two times it's been broke into thought the same thing you do. Cars get stolen all the time, and not just good ones, theres different ways for different cars, I'v busted the ign switch on a ford escort just using the tire iron that was in the car. Also tow truck drivers seem to like to put the seat belt through the steering wheel to keep the wheels from turning if its a RWD
After unlocking, Pull the rod back out, then pull the wedge out b4 pulling the handle to open the door and it’s easier on the door mechanism & latch
where do you keep that long rod? in your wallet? or in your pocket?
Jammin 10000000000000 thumbs up.
ha ha ha
Seriously???
Get one from the friendly guy, who just broke into the car next to you.
I keep mines in my front pocket :D want to see it? ahh ill show it to your any way
*unzips his pants*
thank you very much. i forget the key in my car, the car locked itself and i was afraid id have to bracke a window, now thanks to this i was able to get in.
Oh, ok. I'm going to walk around with a long metal rod and a wedge in my pocket all the time JUST in case I lock my keys in the car. Yeah, great tip. 😂😂
Well John Smith three places you most likely lock them in
Home, work, or a store I think you can find something.
I managed to get in my old ranger with a butter knife by popping the rear window cause I was at kitchen and things. This is just telling you the idea.
No you do not hold the wedge and long John in the door jam. You take them out. Leaving them in can leave your door jam uneven.
I went in through the roof sunwindow. I did not have a steel metal pole like yours. I used tent fiberglass support rod taped it double to fit in the small gap then hit the electric release.
How convenient to have a wedge and long rod. LOL. As a mechanic, I find a lot of spare keys under vehicles.
I like your video because it is professionally done
I used this technique and it saved me some cash thanks for the info man you are awesome
clothes hanger heavy duty one. always works for me or a slim jim
This method works i have carjacked so many cars thanks to this !
This method work amazingly if you have the tool, I didn't. I used something else but messed up the frame a little and took longer.
I've never tangled with a power door, but a power brick can be used to open a power window.
The advice works best on trucks and old cars, and only when the car's battery isn't dead.
To stash a key outside a 21st century CAR, you'll need to get a key made without a programmed chip for ~$30.
The best place to stash a passive key blank is behind a license plate that requires a screwdriver to access it.
For someone who does this often, the most convenient place is the same as with dog tags- on a beaded chain worn like a necklace.
The worst place is in a magnetic holder . There are very few locations under a modern car that you can reach without crawling under it that arent blocked by a plastic shroud, and all of them are known to car thieves. A programmed key would enable a thief to steal your car using that key.
The second, worst stash location is inside a wallet or purse. You are just as likely to lock those in a car as to forget the keys.
My car wouldn't start yesterday, so my Mom had to drive me to work and pick me up after work. When I was at work, my sister took the car battery out of my car and was charging it elsewhere and she locked my car. I drive a car that only has one keyhole on the driver's side. The only ways you can get into my car is by the power lock on my keychains or the manual way. The problem is that some time ago someone tried to break into my car and messed up the keyhole to my car. It's still jammed. I will eventually have to pay to get that keyhole replaced.
Anyways, my sister, Dad, and I were watching your video and similar videos last night and today. My Dad called a locksmith, who showed up today, on New Year's Day, and he basically did the wedging the door open and using Lon apparatus to physically unlock a car door. The unlocking service cost $40. And then my sister was able to put in recharged car battery, and my car finally was able to start up. This is the second time in recent months that my car wouldn't start in cold weather. Eventually, I'll have to get a new car battery as well. Anyways, this video and similar videos are helpful for people who have dealt with car doors being locked with no way of getting except through the tips shown in the video. Thanks for the video, and have a good 2015!
Sir, where can I buy the tools you used(:
2016 Dodge Dart. Got it first try! Thanks ehowauto!
If i'm not carrying a spare key on me, i'm sure not carrying a wedge and rod in my pocket. 3am in the middle of nowhere is where this happens to most people.
Pvt. Slim Gaming A 2x4 and coat hanger has gottin me into my cars a few times.
i was at the super market at 3am, started my car to warm up, middle of winter, while i loaded my my groceries, just as i shut my door, it locks... damn, into the store, found a coat hanger, and after 20 minutes of freezing my ass, i got it open. i carry a spare for sure now.
+Pvt. Slim Gaming This system was how the roadside assistance guy got my door open. I am buying air jacks and the access tool to keep in the back of my truck.
+Pvt. Slim Gaming Dude, I literally said the same thing to myself while watching this hahahah!
2:55 am leaving work alone. Im sitting here I have a wedge kit but cant fet the mofo button to work.
Thanks for providing such helpful and easy tricks to unlock power doors.
love u bro....I left my key inside the car..but thanks to u I was able to.open....love u.....muahhhh
The best thing to do if you have a newer car there is an emergency key in the key fob.
Go to the locksmith and have one made and stick it in your wallet.
I would like to see a belt such as a money belt with a zipper to put things like extra money or a spare key.
I would be Leary of those magnetic key boxes they say you can place under the car. If you go over rough roads it could jostle off.
Hi there, unfortunately, we had many occurrences where this happened to us and although, this car wedge and rod may not come handy, I think it's a usefull tool to have.
Thanks and God bless you for your helpful how to... video.
I retrieved a coworker's key once when he left the sunroof open a bit. The keys were in the console, so I dropped a magnet on a string down to them. I had them out in about 30 seconds.
this helped for me, tnx... took me about 15 min perhaps... not too long, did make a custom hook from an old laundryrack
OMG I lock my dog and cell phone in my car when I was traveling in AZ one winter and before the sun came up I had to bust out the small window in the backseat and it ended up being the most expensive that I could have busted out in my SUV but my dad got me a key that I can only use for the door if I stick it in to start the car I will mess it up. but the problem us it's all plastic car and can't stick it anywhere on my car I trust not to loose so when I travel with my dog I wear it always around my neck. That was an expensive trip to my dad's but I learned my lesson. Never travel with a dog without a spare key on the outside of it car or in your body.We live and learn thanks for that info but I hope I never have to use but who knows I mite come across someone else with the same problem I had and maybe I be their hero with that info u just told me. thanks it's always good to know how to get into your own car without being costly.
An FYI ... A Wallet and the car's own antenna (same method) . Most people don't keep the wedge and pole in their back pockets, lol. Pull antenna and let it rock back and forth, the vibrations will usually let you back antenna out without a wrench, shhhh. And Look up shoe string method, even easier, as long as locks aren't pin style. (someone good with the slipknot can still get them, :)
Thank Youu soo soo much. This method really worked
I had this problem with a land rover discovery 2 key cylinder broke and the battery died and I had two options 1 is to power the battery from underneath the car or do like this video on the back door can't access the front doors because of the gutters.
One suggestion, do it on the passenger door side so if you wreck the rubber or spring the door, you know the rest.
Thanks Mr. Holkmen!
Pěkný návod pro zloděje, jak rychle otevřít zamknuté auto. :-)
Great advice to be sure - now for those of us who don't have a foam wedge?
He said best way is to use a hidden spare key. Why would anyone look up a video up of how to use their key to unlock their car. It is just as bad as saying that the best solution is to not lock your keys in your car or lose them. But great information in this video. Never heard of the wedge method.
Dudes been trolling people since 2012... "If you weren't such an idiot in the first place, there would be a spare key in your wallet right now"
Already know that thanks
What do you do when you don't have any unlock buttons on your front doors and the only way to unlock the car is with the lock button on the front console? Looks like I might have to buy a reach tool.
Baring a dead battery, keep your remote separate from your ignition key! Your remote then becomes your "extra key". simple.
Facebook
Is this method works on 2006 Range Rover as well? The key is at back trunk.
What are you compensating for with that long rod?
Thank you !!!!
This helped me so much ! Awesome!
I have a 2006 Rav 4 that the back door hatch has permantley locked itself! How do I go about unlocking it. My batteries do work for the remotes, just the latch is NOT working properly??
I've used sticks/branches off a tree before on a Subaru. Cars with frame-less windows are obviously much easier than ones shown here. Just takes a little patience.
I've used a Subaru on trees
Edward Tupper True fact, they are universally compatible.
Poor trees
Slamdoxicalz Don't worry, I only use dead wood or trees convicted of assault and rape. You'd be surprised how many trees are on the predator list.
Keys879 lol, breaking into a car seems like a minor charge compared to that
Good idea I'll keep a wedge and rod in my car!
Thank you so much you really helped me unlock my car door, thank you so very much.
U MUST BEpedo JOE VOTER
I used a screwdriver and a feather duster and got the same result thanks
Can I do this if I have a 2004 Subaru Forester
This video save my life. Haha! Thank you!
Good Video - Although what are the chances you'd have access to a wedge and steel rod?
Maybe upload same video but one more practical - how to unlock the door with a coat-hanger - more readily available I think
Thanks bro. Your tip was good, it helped me.
hi
share this with your friends and fam and tell them to watch it to save big money very easily. tow truckers in Canada charge $75+ with tax to do this - with ZERO justification of costs. BIG SCAMMERS HUGE RIP OFF. HELP BRING AN END TO THIS INJUSTICE.
soooo do most cars not have an alarm system or at least a working one. i locked my keys in my car twice and tried the coat hanger and string and both times my alarm goes off like crazy until i finally get into the car that i now look like im trying to steal
Good work God Bless you
and were do you keep theses things? in your trunk. and how do you get into your trunk? with the keys that are in your car!
very useful and creative
I have a key with no chip in a magnetic holder under the car (out of the tire spray) and one with a chip under the hood held in place with a sheetmetal screw covered by a piece of duct tape
Yep, I´ve had to use this method. Shame I didn´t learn it until AFTER my Mrs paid a locksmith 50 euros for a 1 minute job. DOH!
Great! I just pranked my friend with that technique
Axe head shaped like a wedge, would it be too large?
If you pay for car insurance CHECK YOUR INSURANCE BENEFITS I locked my keys in the car twice and didnt even know my car insurance gave free locksmith service just want to let everyone know. I know its hard to think when you panic from this situation
Thanks bro love u lol im doing this tommorow you saved me $50
Good way to scratch the paint and tear weatherstripping if you're not careful. Some cars are easier than others. This method should be used sparingly. A competent locksmith will pick the lock or use other less risky ways to open a vehicle without damage. That's what you're paying them for, to make sure your vehicle is NOT damaged.
If you have to remind yourself to use this method sparingly, you should just hand your keys over to someone else because you're an idiot who can't stop locking your keys in your car
on god you are clowning
I doubt anyone was trying to be rude. There is a valid point within the statement of ice locked myself out of my car , how can I possibly open my trunk ‼️🖕🏽
Un,a pregunta maestro se puede abrir la puerta de un carro o auto con un imán neodimio me gustaría que me respondiera
Cool gonna try it now
Could you also use that pole to grab the keys from the ignition¿
sungguh luar biasa.....sangat membantu sekali
great i mean i dont have the rod tho what should i use?
Thank you it works
Thank you Bob!!!
We just had to use this. We used the string. My husband locked his keys in the trunk.
Thank you😁
I prefer the string and slipknot method .
+Atomic Punk I've done it on cars with same locking mechanism
thanks bob, i used the same trick and opened my car
Naturally, this method works well, however it is not natural to be carrying around a wedge and a steel rod. However you can carry one with you for someone else who you might run across who has locked their keys in the car. I have a slimjim that can still luck out and work in some cars in my trunk, I might need to update to these, however that never helps me.
where do you buy these tools
thanks this worked!!
Thanks for showing even the dumbest thieves how to break into a car!!!
