No matter how much we try to do the right thing in life, there is always someone telling us that it is wrong.
This is getting ridiculous.
It's true
Haha
Facts 😂😂😂
@@anarooplays8302 Yes that is certainly a fact.😎😎
2 questions
1. Are you talking about vitamin supplements or food sourced vitamins?
2. D3 & K2. Most doctors say to take them together.
I was wondering about food sourced vitamins as well.
She said K not K2. K is potassium. Very different
@@user-is1yo3nj8p You are so right!
When someone says vitamin K, they show right away their ignorance on the subject.
There is no vitamin K; there is K1 and K2, which are totally different and can't be set under same umbrella even. K(potassium) is not a vitamin - it's a mineral.
Vitamin K and potassium are not the same. In fact, they're completely different substances. Vitamin K is a vitamin, and potassium is a mineral. However, they are commonly confused because the periodic table of elements uses the letter K to represent potassium.
@@blackswan5756😊
What are you talking about? Ive seen in many other videos and a ton of comments to take vitamin D3 with K2 (Mk-7) and some magnesium also to help the calcium go where it is supposed to go and not in the arteries or veins. You must be referring to a different vitamin K and not K2 (MK-7)
I agree, I’m confused also. Maybe she’s referring to K1?? Some clarification would be helpful.
Clarification is ESSENTIAL on this matter Pls …VitD and K2 are always recommended in other videos such as respected Dr Berg
Yes taking vit k2(mk-7) with vit D3 is must but the time gab of taking them should be more&aft
She's correct to a certain extent but not completely correct. The way it works is this : some minerals compete with each other but some compliment each other so what that means is that if the minerals are in a perfect aspect ratio say spring water at 2:3 then you will not have any issues but with supplements if the ratio is 6:1 or even a 6:6 than yes you could no doubt have some issues with absorption of one mineral or both
She needs to clarify the D3 and K. I was just told to take D3 with Mk/7 k2 . What gives?!
🤔🤔🤔🤔 I take Zinc and Magnesium for menstrual cramps at night during my cycle and it has been nothing short of MAGICAL.
Hi! Wow great to hear! Do you have an update on this after 10 months? Is it still helping?
@emilf7150 Definitely still helping! It's my go to actually..❤️
@@Ladyofvirtue247 Teriffic! My sister has huge issues, I will relay this to her! 😀
@@Ladyofvirtue247what dosage ?
I went to the store and they now have Vitamin D and K combined in the same capsule. So we definitely need clarification on that.
Yeah same here. Vitamin D together with Vitamin K are at all the Pharmacies here in Australia. I don't know what the Truth is any more!
K or K2...? they are different
@@wakjob961
Vitamin K2+D3 is usually sold together in one capsule.
It’s usually d3 n k2.
I read K supposedly help to deposit D in your bones and not have it wasted. This woman is a bunch of BS cause if you look at Once a Day vitamins, it has all the supplements she listed as a don't do.
I don’t know. All these vitamins come together in one multi vitamin. Also many of the pairs come together in one supplement like calcium and magnesium as well as vitamins C, D and Zinc. Those come together in one supplement I take called, “CDZ”. I also remember hearing that vitamin D should be taken with calcium because vitamin D helps the body to absorb the calcium. That’s why vitamin D is added to milk. A lot of what is said here goes completely against everything I’ve learned. Maybe what I’ve learned is wrong, but I don’t really know. This video is really confusing to me.
I agree 100% I am so pissed off and confused right now 😠😡🤬😤
@@Havok4191 . I'm guessing that because all multi vitamin and mineral supplements don't have enough of what our bodies actually need, keep in mind that in most cases less than half of what we take is actually absorbed, I learned that if I want vitamin D3, C and Zinc to really make a difference and strengthen my inmune system to get over the common flu or covid I need to take very high doses, I just had what might have been covid but I never got tested so I can't be sure but the symptoms felt different than the flu, I just didn't panic it lasted 3 weeks which is very uncommon for me usually I'm over the common cold and flu in 5 to 7 days it was weird after 5 days I was getting over the symptoms and suddenly other symptoms came on very strong, I totally lost my sense of smell but I kept working out for 1 hour almost everyday I just simply refused to lie down and allow for whatever I had to take me down and I really believe that the high doses of vitamin D3 and C plus Zinc and magnesium plus herbal teas specially chamomile tea made a huge difference, I never got the vaccine I believe that my God given natural immunity is way better than the jab with no side effects is been more than a month already and no side effects but I do take really good care of myself and that makes a huge difference if you do get covid regardless of how old you are I'm close to 63 now and I feel better than when I was in my 40s and 50s and I just started taking eating healthy seriously in 2020 because of covid but it took me at least 2 years to learn how to do it the right way so technically is been only one year but I'm amazed of the results is a learning experience I'm always striving to improve.
Going to firmly agree here, and wondering what kind of nutritional education Dr. Janine actually has. Very well reputed, research intensive companies like Thorne and others offer some of these in various combinations, and D3-K2 is basically on practically every PRO list from doctors and researchers deep into longevity science and health span.
Give sources and cite what literature you might have, Dr. Janine; don't create a 3 minute video with affiliate links for the supplements, and no real info about what you're stating. Come on now.
Same view 🤔
The problem is compounded by their use of D2 instead of D3! D2 actually blocks D3.
I have been training at an elite athlete level for 43 years. I have learned many subtle tricks that increase different aspects of my physical and mental development. All of the above are well documented, however if you take these together it is better than not taking them at all. The fibre note is the most important in my humble opinion.
For fat soluble nutrients I typically take them with a table spoon of olive oil sublingual. If you can follow the above advice it will aid in the bodies ability to uptake these nutrients, however most people may not be able to feel the difference. For those looking to be performing at an elite athletic level in your 60's and beyond this advice is worth noting.
Great information. Thank you.
Thank you. This is much needed advice.
Thank You for getting straight to the point.Very informative other Doctors are saying the same.Loved your video Thank You!
Thank you so much for this important information
Fantastic video, Dr. Janine! When it comes to B12 and Vit C, does that only apply to supplements, or is it inadvisable to take B12 supplements with foods high in Vit C?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏
Thank you for watching!
I like your video. No time wasting intros or set ups. Straight to the point 👍🏽

7. isn't true and there is no scientific evidence for that. The opposite is the truth.
I love learning about what to combine and what not to - this was really helpful, thankyou
Many Dr's (Berg, Mercola, Axe) strongly recommend to take K2, calcium/Mg and D together.
First time hear that they should be taken separately.
Question the validity of such a claim.
Wish the Drs were on same page about it.
@@blackswan5756 yes i take the above you mentioned separately as well
Excellent advice. Been learning a lot of what you are saying from other scientists and nutritionally educated physicians. ❤
Research is being done all the time and she's out of date. Vit D eg uses up magnesium so they must both be taken to prevent magnesium deficiency.
Wow you are amazing and helpful and appreciative and grateful for your knowledge and honored….short and to the fact and kept it simple and that’s rare thank you 🙏🏼🤙🏼😊
Thank you🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Good stuff!
Magnesium and zinc are synergistic minerals, they are taken together, the problem of usability is in the dosage
I like that the videos are short and to the point.
It would have been more helpful to explain a bit about the Vit. D & Vit. K issue: why it is a problem or at least, what order to take them, if important, and the time period between taking them.
Sorry, I didn't realize the answer(s) I sought were to be addressed in the subsequent segment (Ca++ and Vit. D).
@@cougar1861 if you take too much calcium and vitamin D, it will turn into kidney stones.
Vit K keeps the calcium OUT of the soft tissue arteries heart etc and into the bones teeth etc.
It's BS. Like most NDs, she doesn't know what she's talking about. If you take vit D, which increases calcium absorption, and Vit k2, many experts say it's best to take them together because the K2 directs the calcium to the bones (good) rather than arteries (very bad).
Vitamin D3 should always be taken in combination with Vitamin K2. These two Vitamins work together synergistically to ensure that Calcium obtained from food is deposited in the bones and not in the arteries.
Absolutely great video ❤ Really Janien. (If I spelt it correctly)
Thank you so very deeply ❤

I just learned that magnesium and zinc compete with each other for absorption. I have been taking them together in the morning.
I take magnesium malate and gluconate, because they are both well absorbed. 😀
If you spread them out by 30 minutes to 1 hour it will help.
Thank you for this video. I am taking a vitamin D that is combined with K2 in one tablet, should I stop them? Also I take Acacia powder in a pint of water with my food, should I leave this until bed time long after I've eaten? Many thanks.
Dr. Janine - What about multi-vitamins that contain D, E, K, Zinc and Magnesium? Since they're all being ingested together?
Good question
I'd only take multivitamins & minerals if they come from natural source otherwise synthetically derived will do more harm than good.
I'm not a big fan of taking multivitamins. Only take vitamins or minerals when you're either deficient in or your daily intake is less.
I've seen people stacking up vitamins and minerals supplements like IT certs in the US 😅
If she or he can not show you a data do NOT believe it. Always ask , ‘show me the data’. You never lose ❤
YES!!!!!!
I've been taking magnesium and zinc and also vit e with vit D.
Thanks for the heads up
I understand Magnesium in the night before bedtime since it helps sleep and works on the Digestive tract, bm for the next morning. I read up on 100s of sites that also recommend this, but you say in the morning 😮
@Dr.JanineBowring,ND What about Vitamin E? What should we not take with it?
I have learned from watching another doctor, don’t remember who it was, that Calcium has to be taken with Magnesium to proper absorption to blood and if Calcium is taken alone it’s going to be deposited in the Arteries and thus can have a blocked artery. Dr Janine, you definitely need to clarify this. Also Dr Susan E Brown says to take a supplement D3 that is made with MK 7 and Calcium.
Thx
TY❤
So it sounds like supplements have to be taken one by one and not as a multivitamin. I suffer from migraine disease, PMDD, Lupus and other chronic health issues. I have been trying to research to find a suitable supplement regimen and include sea moss occasionally. It sucks that no one can suggest some options to choose from, at this point I feel like saying forget it but I will keep pushing to find what works best for me. Thank you for sharing Dr. Janine.
So the best way is to take 1 by 1 vitamin seperate by 1 hr in between maybe.
I already knew that fiber cannot be taken with vitamins at the same time.
Thank you for your help❤
Hi, I'm taking a vitamin K2 & D3 food supplement by "Naturelo" which is in combination capsule; and a liquid Calcium Magnesium by "Blue Bonnet" which is combined. What is the problem that I am causing in doing so, especially since they are sold in combination? Do you have recommendations of vitamin and supplement brands that you find are best? Thank you so much!
She is wrong. Vitamin D3 should always be taken in combination with Vitamin K2. These two Vitamins work together synergistically to ensure that Calcium obtained from food is deposited in the bones and not in the arteries.
The problem is people have started to believe and fall for what nutraceuticals are throwing at them. And she's right. Someone saying that take vit d with k2 doesn't necessarily means that you've to take them together. And it only applies to supplements not food one is eating. Like there are lots of myths and one of them is if you drink milk after eating fish it may have toxic effect in your body, so are you going to believe it? Ofcourse, NOT!
What about k2 and D3...
So are you basically saying we shouldn't be taking a multivitamin...? Because clearly there's vitamins in there together that you're saying aren't going to be absorbed properly.
Should we be buying each individual vitamin separately and taking them spaced out from each other?
I'm taking Thorne Brand ferrasorb and the 2-a-day multivitamin atleast an hour apart from each other. Is this okay or am I doing this all wrong.
I'm iron deficient anemic so trying to fix that with supplements
Thank you
Merci
So what about supplements of vitamin d with k 2 that is capsuled together?
Thank you for your information and it is helpful..! My doctor prescribed me magnesium and asked me to take it 1 hour before bed time. It feels good.
Then why does my Calcium supplement (Costco’s Kirkland brand) includes Magnesium and Zinc plus Vitamin D3 added to it???
so what time gap for each supplements when consuming?
What about D3 and K2 that are processed together??!
I take D3 and K2 everynight before bed for about 2 yrs now. No more sleep apnea
Ideally you don't take them together. 😊
Glad it worked for your sleep apnea. 😊
Yes, my D3 and K2 come together in droplet liquid form. why do they sell it and come buy it like this! This is terrible I’ve been doing this for years!
@@anniehopem9782 EXACTLY, It's getting ridiculous out here. All over the world these people are manufacturing D3 and K2 together and many UA-cam influencers and doctors with contrary advice causing upset and confusion. smdh
Dr Janine thank you so much but plz clarify about vitamin D 3 with K 2
I buy D3 K2 vitamin ,It is one pill..How is this missed by all the Pharmaceutical companies?
I am tired of specialists telling you that: do this, and months later: you should not be doing that 😒
Thanks for sharing this information. But I am shocked, scared and worried. Bcoz the combinations that you are saying is incorrect then should we opt for superfoods like moringa, wheatgrass, etc. But in these also we find a diversity of vitamins and minerals. I wanted to start with supplements but what you have advised is very different from the supplements that we get. So how to go about it? Also one thing Ma'am, what about omega fish oil. Any interactions with any vitamins or minerals. Please advice. Thanks in advance
I'm sure there will be some further incompatibility leaving us on a continuous dosage alarm notification on iphones throughout the day. That's idiocy.
Hi, I just saw your video and I'm wondering if your reference to vit d and k include d3 & k2 because I've taken the liquid formula that comes together? Is this different from what you're saying in your video? TY
She doesn't seem to want to answer this question. It's been asked here many times. I honestly don't think she knows half of what she's talking about.
She is wrong. Vitamin D3 should always be taken in combination with Vitamin K2. These two Vitamins work together synergistically to ensure that Calcium obtained from food is deposited in the bones and not in the arteries.
Can i take Fish Oil with D3, C, Magnesium Citrate (CALM brand) together? Thats what ive been taking for years AND i included the K2 in the bunch up until now... All food sourced.
She is wrong. Vitamin D3 should always be taken in combination with Vitamin K2. These two Vitamins work together synergistically to ensure that Calcium obtained from food is deposited in the bones and not in the arteries.
I've seen magnesium and zinc supplements sold as an all in one in the UK.
I take 3000 IU of D3 with breakfast, & Vit K2 with lunch. Only thing I'm concerned about is my breakfast is dairy heavy - overnight oats, nuts & seeds soaked in approx 175mls of milk & yoghurt (half in half). Google tells me 175mls is 5.92 oz. Does it matter if it's with calcium rich foods, or only calcium supplements?
Dr. it would be very nice if you could address some the questions here in the comments.
A lot of people have concerns about your advice to take vitamins D3 and K2 separately. Are you correct about this? You seem to only respond with one sentence and if your advice is really incorrect you should address that. If it is correct you should provide evidence of this. Many people take this combination for heart issues so I find it irresponsible that you are not answering each of these people's concerns.
Dr Bowring
I'm taking vitamin D and also K2, so I am a little concerned that I'm taking them incorrectly as I do take them together.
Can you please advise
Thank you

I think Magnesium and Zinc is complicated depending if Magnesium Citrate, Glycinate, Malate, Oxide etc. and if the supplement has Vitamin D3 with it.
Thank you for the information presented. You suggest taking Vitamin D in the morning and Calcium at night. Someone needs to tell the pharmaceutical company, because I just checked and my Calcium pill has Vitamin D3 in it. Are Vitamin D and Vitamin D3 the same?
Im so confused, I have MCTD disease, psoriasis arthritis , osteoporosis and osteopenia . I Don't want to be on medication for the rest of my life. My vitamin d3& k2 are combined in a tablet, so are saying that's no good?
I almost fell out of my chair when you mentioned not taking vitamin D and vitamin K together, because their often PACKAGED that way, along with vitamin A
Q: Could adding more/sufficient fat provide enough resources for Vitamins A, D, and K not to compete and help with absorption?
THANK YOU DR. BOWRING FOR ALL THOSE USEFUL INFO. I BOUGHT A VITAMIN D3 WITH K2 MIXED IN ONE BOTTLE FROM VITAMIN SHOPPE THEIR BRAND , IS IT SAFE TO TAKE OR I SHOULD BUY IT SEPREATLY ?

I didn't know there was a fiber supplement ? What is it called ? And do we need it
Hello Beautiful! Thanks for this information and advice. Kiss you!
The ingredient list on a bottle of, for instance, an OTC multiple, daily vitamin, includes just about all of these! So it sounds like you'd have to have a cabinet full of separate vitamins if we were to follow your recommendation of taking these hours apart.

But vitamin D n K2 are combined in what intake as well as zinc/magnesium and b for sleep. Why would they be sold that way if it’s bad?
K2 is an uptake inhibitor mk7 for D3. It is always supposed to be taken together.
I have been using a liquid D3/K2 for years. ☹️is that wrong?
But doctor me given the ccm tablet which contain calcium and vitamin d very confusing
How do you explain all those together in a multivitamin?
Yeah!!

Yes, surprised by Vitamin D3 & K2
Hey Doc, what about a dietary supplement of Calcium Magnesium, Zinc and D3? Since they come together in one pill do they not "mesh" well? Thanks for the video!
I see right after ordering it.....
How do you know if vitamins are synthetic
I guess I'm throwing out my multivitamin ! Do you think I could sue the manufacturer for not telling me about the combination being a no no ?

That's a good idea, 👍
I don't get it!! All my life it's been take magnesium with Calcium and magnesium at night for sleep! Also, the supplement is very popular taking Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K!!
Does this also count for foods rich in those vitamins
Walmart sells a Spring Valley supplement which is combined D3 and K2. Is that erroneous?
So, what do you do when you take your 1ADay that has ALL those vits in one tablet?
Please explain why not vtamin D with vitamin k, and which vit. K are you refering to, because what I know is that vit. K2 helps with the absorbsion of calcium from the blood stream back to the bones, so it is recommended fir those 2 vitamins to be taken together. There are also a lot of supplements that have vit. D & k2 together....
So what about having centrum with all in???
My questions arise from this material: what happens to those multivitamin complexes, even natural extracts from fruits and vegetables, which include in a single pill so much vitamin complex. B, vit. D, Vit. K, Calcium, Magnesium, Vit.C, etc.? What to do? Should we avoid them?
That's what I take. I'd like to know too
So why there mix calcium with zinc and magnesium
Lastly, Magnesium helps with sleep - so it's suggested to take it before bed; lots of conflicting information!
