The main problem is that the Show Pink-Pongs how strong of a fighter Po really is. In onw episode, Po solos an entire Raid and it makes the premise that Po has become a Master of Martial Arts, then you have another episode where Po gets beaten terribly by the same raiders.
What I liked about this show is that it got rid of my main concern of the show. After Po defeated a legendary King Fu master in the first film, who couldn't he beat after that? Well, they wrote quite a number of situations where he couldn't just fight his way out of the situation. Sometimes the conflicts were pretty clever in the way that Po was held back from punching whatever opposed him dead.
Yeah, there was literally an episode where he had to fight some sort of demon/monster that would get bigger and stronger if it got punched or kicked. He had to strategize and not fight it , which made it smaller then he caught it in a jar.
@@thevisitor1012 Wait what do you mean?! I mean the show ended in 2013 and the third movie came out in like 2016. I assume you mean because like dragon Ball super it kind of made the events of the show no longer important much like DBZ is now.
I’m surprised he didn’t talk about the villains, because this show had some awesome, memorable villains. Feng Huang Scorpion Tong Fo Taotie Temutai Hundun Fung Junjie Ke Pa
Yeah, even after years I still remember most their backstorys that showed why they were evil. The Rhino was a former prison guard that got fired and lost everything after Tai Lung got killed (no prison guards needed anymore) The inventor pig became evil originally made his machines for the army, but then the martial arts users considered them inferior and unethical. There was a Cobra that used to be a good guy, but people got scared of him because he was super strong and got banished for no real reason. The croc bandits leaders father was an asshole, so he became an asshole. And I think the scorpion used to heal people but then accidently poisoned herself and became deranged or something.
When he used the term “C Tier”, it made me really want him to do the thing many people have done with tier list ranking videos. Or at least, at the end of Nick O Rama, flash a image of his completed ranking in the tier list maker
That's my thoughts exactly. Like he has had some big surprises when rating these like fanboy chum chum I want to see them all in comparison to each other
*Mr. Enter does Kora.* Mr. Enter's fans: "Ah shit; here we go again." People who only watched Nick-o-Rama: "Ah shit; here we go again." Mr. Enter himself: "Ah shit; here we go again."
Those of us who like Korra also feel that way. It's got plenty of issues from that ending (they just held hands and went on a trip together so fuck all you shippers who can't shut up about KorraSami and the staff who gave said shippers validation) to the iffy plot threads that sometimes repeat or try to softly retcon previous things in the series (likely a result of not being greenlit for multiple seasons immediately and planning stories accordingly) but I still found it a highly enjoyable show despite those flaws.
@@Japaneseanimeguy Its enjoyable, nowhere near as good as ATLA but okay, had a lot of issues but biggest had to be how they portrayed the spirit world, also would've liked it if they fleshed the whole bending in a more modern society thing out a bit more and i do strongly believe that if nickelodeon didn't screw them like that it could've been a lot better
@@jmax6750 "would've liked it if they fleshed the whole bending in a more modern society thing out a bit more" Honestly, even that they fucked up beyond compare. ATLA: Lightning bending is a very dangerous art with a combination of water and fire-bending technique, two opposites, that requires perfect control and complete void of strong emotion to pull off, otherwise you'll likely kill yourself. LoK: NAh man, we mass-produce that shit in a factory setting! Lol what is consistency?!
Yeah, the humor was pretty sub-par for the most part, but there were a few good ones in there, but the stories being told and the action itself was all really well done imho. They were what actually kept me coming back to watch while it was airing
I like it too. Mainly cuz it's memeable (yes I said that) one time I was playing it and then I played it one more time after that, and my dad told me off so quick. I was like dang dad I only played it twice. I actually didn't get to finish the second one.
It's incredibly apparent that virtually all the budget went to the action scenes. The difference in quality between them and the dialogue scenes is honestly kinda stunning.
If this is a reference to the mid-to-late-2000s video game Kao: Round 2 then that's a neat reference. If it's not and it happens to be coincidence, that's fine too.
@@ariadaynes5444 I hope he actually took the time to complete the series. Book One is great in my opinion, but I do understand people's issues with it and Book Two is a MESS. But Book Three is amazing and Book Four is a great conclusion to the series. If he just glossed over Book Two after watching Book One, his opinion is going to be far worse than before.
‘Mike Tyson Mysteries; probably the only one i can think of that’s actually any good...’ FINALLY! someone else who appreciates that beautiful underrated show!
One of the bigger issues I always found with the show was the Furious Five being reduced to jobbers in most episodes, unless the episode was focused around them. I get that it’s Po’s show basically, but these are supposed to be some of the greatest warriors in China, cut em a break!
Andrew Mason well the show added more lore and backstory to the five and that is why I watch them in chronological order shirts first then first movie then first half of the tv show and holiday special then the second movie then last half of the series then third film It is like watching the mcu films or Star Wars watch them chronological order Star Wars on the other either watch them by release or chronological you make the pick on that one
I know. Are there not any other martial artists in all of China? Or like.... local military or law enforcement or something? It can’t just be these seven guys, right.....?
Sara Fontanini In the movies it was handled way better. In the first one, the Five held their own against Tai Lung until he busted out the techniques they had no knowledge of. The second one they surrendered due to numbers and a loss of morale form seeing Poe die. In the final one they were dealing with Chi magic, which nobody could fight against anyway. In the show they lose fights to things they should, by all accounts, curbstom
@@joaogabrielwillerding4093 According to wikipedia, the School of Rock 2016 TV show is a musical-comedy series based on the 2003 film of the same name.
*Me by the end* : yeah I understand where he's going from, I can understand the criticism, but I still like this show nonet- *see that his next review is Legend of Korra* HOOOOO BOY HERE WE GO
As much as I like this show as a kid, I do have to agree with you, it wasn’t as good as I remembered, but if you want an episode here that doesn’t rely on butt jokes after a dark and serious tone, I highly recommend S2 EP7 “enter the dragon”.
I found the humor in this series at least tolerable. Not good, but exactly what you said, not offensive. But really, it's the story and action that I do pay more attention to. That's what I enjoyed about it. I think one of my favorite episodes was that one where Po has to watch that little girl princess who's acting all snotty and selfish while they're on a serious adventure. Seeing how those two overcame their problems and the progression of its story was really wholesome to me when I was little. I really wish Nickelodeon had never picked up Fanboy & Chum Chum, Planet Sheen, Sanjay & Craig, and Breadwinners, and I wish they had never moved shows like T.U.F.F. Puppy, Kung Fu Panda, Barnyard, and Penguins (although you dislike those first 3 shows, and I respect your opinion, I can kind of see why people enjoyed them) to the Nicktoons channel, because despite the dark age of SpongeBob and The Fairly Oddparents, I would say it would have been an at best, okay library of cartoons on the channel. If Harvey Beaks and Loud House ran after the cancellation of these shows, the channel would probably have been slightly better. Nicktoons should just stay as an archive channel for all nicktoons (why the hell does the splat even exist on Teennick!? Just put that shit on Nicktoons).
When Thai Lung had a son or whatever is about when I got out of cartoons. As for the humor I honestly don't remember the so called 'butt humor' Enter mentioned, at least not much of it
The one offensive thing was what they did with Tigress. The movie had her as a cool collective master with a mean streak when bothered, even in the secrets of the furious five and Christmas special. In Legends of Awesomness, she's a hot headed mean spirited cynic, pretty much an entirely different character from any other KFP entry.
At the time, I recall enjoying this show's humor more than most new Spongebob episodes. Not as much as Penguins of Madagascar, but it was at least passable.
@@HeilRay they also make it seem like she's quite self conscious, showing jealousy for po in multipe occasions. But in all the movies shes clear asure and composed. Especially the second
I know the show is kind of outclassed by the movies but I still have a soft spot. And then we have Paws of Destiny which is just fantastic, highly recommended.
Nerdy Alien I would say it's more the fault of the showrunner not knowing how to balance the serious with comedy since he mostly worked on comedic series like Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain (the latter he was basically a step bellow showrunner).
I love this show, surprised you didn't like it that much. For me, I think the show was a good balance of action and comedy, regardless if the animation was rough or not. It was also a nice way to show that Po still had a lot to learn, as in real life, Kung Fu takes years of training, and can also become a literal way of life. (The five Warriors aren't probably just warriors, but also monks.) And seeing Po after the first movie and in-between the second and third movie still growing and learning how to live that life style feels very natural. Another reason I love the show, is because I honestly didn't like the five warriors and Master Shi-fu in the first movie. They were all really mean spirited towards Po. I get it, the point was Po is just a fat stupid panda kid from town, the five were trained warrior monks, why did the turtle choose him? But I think there is a way to write those characters in a way that make them not accept Po, without it feeling as mean spirited as it did. But the show made them nicer, and made me care about them by the time I saw the second movie. It also developed the characters, especially Tigress.
Zinervawyrm with tigress’s anger because she was grown up in a broken home/orphanage being bullied for asking “dumb” questions, viper not do much because she was being the mother hen I get shifu was yeesh
I feel like there's a few elements in this show that at least show why the show was better than most people think. The villains for one were actually pretty decent given how the actors who portrayed them did put some charm into 'em. and some of the stories they did were pretty close to being on par with the movies. That being said though i do agree that the humor drags down the show a bit since it does kill the tension in the serious scenes. As for the animation complaint I think that this is to be expected given the fact that this is like watching the old Disney sequel movies or tv shows. But when compared Penguins and Dragons: Riders of Berk this show is inferior to those two.
@@HeilRay Didn't know that. Although this show is a lot better Monsters Vs. Aliens. Seriously this movie didn't need a TV show. And this is coming from someone who liked the movie.
Dreamworks was partnering with Paramount Pictures at the time, it makes sense for Dreamworks creating adaptation of their properties for Nickelodeon. By the time Dreamworks switch the distribution deal with 20th Century Fox, it made no sense for Monsters Vs Aliens to be airing on Nickelodeon if Dreamworks wasn’t involving with Paramount anymore. Speaking of Dreamworks’ distribution deal with 20th Century Fox, Fox doesn’t have the library of 2013-2017 Dreamworks’ films anymore, because Comcast brought it, and it might be the reference of Michael Eisner’s rivalry to Jeffery Katzenburg when Disney won the bidding war to pursue Fox.
Let's continue on with the ranking of how I believe Mr. Enter feels about each and every show that he views. Again, this is what I think HE feels; it's not a ranking based on the quality of the show that anyone else thinks. And this is just for FUN, so don't get upset. Let's go: 1. Avatar: The Last Airbender 2. Hey Arnold 3. Catscratch 4. The Penguins Of Madagascar 5. KaBLaM 6. My Life As A Teenage Robot 7. Invader Zim 8. The Fairly OddParents 9. Jimmy Neutron 10. El Tigre 29. The X's 30. Rocket Power 31. All Grown Up 32. Tak & The Power Of Juju 33. CatDog 34. The Mighty B
The Shen Partei exactly why I loved it. Especially when Viper pointed out that she was a snake and po was like oh but you aren’t like those other snakes and I felt so disrespected on viper behalf. Cuz had to grow up with those comments ugh
The fight scenes really do have interesting choreography in theory at least, I just feel that the poor CG and the slow movements most often fails to give then justice (which is a problem I also have with TMNT 2012).
When Disney decided to make a tv series based on their cgi movie, Tangled, they made the choice to made it 2d and I really like the art design in the Tangled show. The animation's not going to blow your mind but the point is it looked presentable. I don't know why Dream works didn't go the same rout. Cgi animation is no longer cheaper than 2d because the tech used to make it must constantly be updated. It's REALLY difficult to keep up with that cost on a continuing tv series. So even when you have a show that looks good in cgi it can't keep up that quality as the years go by.
"This is not the worst show out there." I'm literally trying to figure out what is the worst show out on nicktoons right now, still curious. (Unless it's Breadwinners, which is pretty much said and done.)
Cartoon Trash Productions well there is this thing called character development plus you don’t expect po become dragon warrior or master overnight there still thing he has to learn plus the series takes place in between the 2 movies with only a handful of episodes taking place after second movie because the third movie was in development at the time
@@theshenpartei not really, there simply don't appear like they do in any of the movies. Most notably tigress, she appears more jealous of po alot of the time, more self-conscious and more light hearted. But you cna see in the second movie, she had 0 incling of feeling jealousy for po, had confidence she could atleast restrain him and still seemed more hardcore. Shi-Fu is absolutely different. Multiple episodes he seems alot more like pos friend then teacher. Literally getting gitty with po with some toy convention, fighting with his dad in who gets to have time with him, and an episode where he literally let's thr 5 quit because po was so good. In the second movie, he wouldn't even accept a hug
@@nonameneeded2943 so shifu not accepting a hug doesn't really say much and for tigress eh it the show simply did a few changes of the characters. And again most of the episode take place before the second film, that could also show there development but to be honest I hardly saw it as much of a problem for a kid serie spinoff of kung fu Panda.
@@victor2641except that the changes I mentioned weren't really developed or resolved in the show at all so it can hardly be seen as development and just them having different characteristics
@@nonameneeded2943 how about in a different time not mentioned but as I said the show could of change the characters a bit for the type of spinoff they were going for.
@@ffjreviews9029 Oh I entirely agree, Monsters Vs Aliens Tv Series was just horrendous with terrible writing and animation already based on one of the worst Dreamworks movies, so it didn't have much to work with to begin with; Penguins now looking back Is legitimately funnier than I remember It being, a lot of genuinely clever and surprisingly well timed Jokes and slapstick, with decent cartoony animation. This has terrible humour but acceptable animation and genuinely well timed and engaging Martial arts and serious Themes that i can respect. The awful humour REALLY does undercut the shows more positive elements though, I agree with Mr Enter entirely on this, which is why it isn't much better in my eyes than so many other Nicktoons.
Cabral Anselmo Well that’s what happens when you try to adapt a movie that was already over 4 years old at the time. 😑 At least they Madagascar series was still somewhat fresh when the Penguins came out.
An issue I found with this show years after seeing it, is how it's continuity is all over the place. The show is set after the events of the first film. The first season and first half of season 2 is anyways. With the second half of season 2 taking place after the second film. Yet, the second film has Po mention that he just got Kung Fu. Yet, if LOA is suppose to be canon, Po's had kung Fu for awhile. There's also the fact the tv show as a whole takes place before Kung Fu Panda 3. Yet in that film, Po doesn't know what chi is, despite the show having him use chi before. There's also how characters act. Like Po being self entitled. Even though he never acts like that in the films. There's also the big retcon of Tail Lung being an uncle, despite the fact he was abandoned as a cub. Raising the question why Tail Lung was ditched if he had a family. Plus, it's odd they try to add more story to tai Lung, even though he's been dead since the first film. I did used to like watching this show a lot. Mainly cause it was the biggest thing the KP series had until KP 3 came out. But it really hasn't aged well. I honestly think I'd re-watch the movies than see this show again.
@@theshenpartei Perhaps. But it's still odd how Tai Lung's family never tried to visit him as he grew up in the jade palace. Or how they somehow never knew he was dead and sent Peng on a quest that would ultimately be pointless. I mean, Peng had to have had a family at one point. Otherwise, how would he have grown up knowing about Tai Lung being his uncle?
I guess you never noticed because you never really tried to figure it out. Enter is a critic who has to focus on these things every time he watches something new
I actually kind of liked this show because it gives us more insight and development on the Furious Five. It may not be a groundbreaking show, but it's still fun.
What I find ironic is that they couldn't get Jack Black or most of the other celebrity voices to return, yet somehow they managed to have Lucy Liu continue voicing Viper. Yes, they also got James Hong back as Mr. Ping, but he's not exactly an A-lister, and he does a lot of voice roles anyway
I honestly have no idea why they didn't just spring for 2D animation for this one - it'd be more visually appealing and the movies had segments in that style already. Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure did that and gave it a storybook kind of feel rather than trying to imitate the movie. What could have been an amazing opportunity for an artistic shift instead looks only somewhat better than the other 3D shows Nick was putting out at the time.
Thoughts: The second of the DreamWorks-Nick trilogy! I remember watching the original film and liking it along with the sequel! Then I found this series, watched a few episodes and liked that too! Kung Fu Panda 3 was mediocre at the time in 2016 but I still hold hope for the series! Next time another martial arts show connected to a franchise!
The Korra review is going to be very interesting. Mr. Enter has mentioned that he liked the second half of the series IIRC, so it'll be nice to hear how it got out of its awkward first steps.
What I hated most is how neutered the furious 5 were. By the end of the first movie, Po had achieved master rank, but still lacked experience and wasn't all around better than the 5. He was only able to beat tai lung because his abundance of fur and fat made him immune or highly resistant to most of tai lung's attacks (particularly pressure point attacks) then in the 2nd movie, Po was the leader and had the 5's respect, but couldn't fight tigress at all. In the cartoon (Which i think takes place between the 1st and 2nd movie) he completely dwarfs the 5 in martial arts ability and is arguably stronger than or very close in power to shifu. Like Po is the One Punch Bear of the show and all the others are there to show how strong the enemy is/buy time for Po to get there and quickly but clumsily take them out.
Phil well this was po’s early days as the dragon warrior and the five can’t be there for him for most of the time and there this thing in writing called character development you see it overtime as the series progress and you got some episodes focusing on the personal struggles of the five plus and you’re right mostly about the series take place in between the films but I can tell you some of the episodes take place after the second movie and around this time the third movie was being made I’m just to leave you a list on how to watch the series on my opinion to understand it better So viewing order of Kung fu panda 1. Secrets of the furious five 2. Secrets of the masters 3. Secrets of the scroll 4. Kung fu panda 1 and the tie in game 5. Kung fu panda holiday special 6. First half of KFP LOA 7.The Kung fu panda comics 8. Kung fu panda 2 9. Kung fu panda 2 the game 10. Last half of LOA 11. Kung fu panda 3 12. Kung fu panda Paws of destiny
@@theshenpartei most of that is irrelevant to my point. Though i gave up on the tv series before it finished. I have seen the movies and specials. My gripe is that in every episode of the series I'd seen (first season) the 5 (and occasionally shifu) would be captured, defeated, or outmatched by the villain while Po defeated them easily. Or one or more of the 5 would be turned against Po and he'd have to fight them. Just to defeat them easily. I guess I just feel like at no point before movie 3 should Po just be vastly superior to any of the 5. Let alone able to *easily* win a fight against any of them.
Phil the first season was a slow one that I can agree but it really picks up in the later seasons or maybe the entire series is expirenced through po’s eyes giving us a unreliable narrator
In Mexico, they also picked up a comedian celebrity voice for the film series, and like Black they picked him for his folksy and distinctive voice, but I think his voice fits Po better because it's very nasal (in a pleasing way) that he kinda sounds like a panda.
It's always so jarring when a good show does nearly everything right minus the humor. You'd think a show with a great cast of characters, an interesting environment, plenty of action, and dramatic storytelling would also have a good sense of comedy, but that often ends up being a major drawback. You see this in shows like "Danny Phantom", Sonic SatAM, and such.
I really enjoyed the character interactions, and a lot of the episodes had amazing premisises, one had mr ping unknowingly leading a crime cartel because he made a really good soup
In my option everything he said was a valid point but I wish he talked about the plots more and give an example of one because he did say it was good for that
I really like Kung Fu Panda because I felt it stay true to all of the character's personalities. Yeah the animation took a hit but the action is still there.
Yes, The Shen Partner, but at least more effort could be put in the animation to make it look closer to a DreamWorks Animation Movie than a 2010s CGI TV series including the CGI DreamWorks TV series based on films like The Boss Baby: Back in Business and Monsters vs. Aliens.
Kieran Stark so would agree if the show had aired on Cartoon Network it would better? Plus the show had good lore and add more back story to characters
I whole heartedly disagree! This was a great show! Also I don't remember this show every having an abundance of fart jokes. As far as the animation goes, it's fine. Why would anyone expect a animated t.v. show to have the same budget as a feature length movie?! I feel you've been over critical on a lot of these shows, which is weird because there were some gems in here.
KFP:LOA had the same problem that Emperor's new school had; he was learning the same two or three lessons (don't be conceited, don't take lazy shortcuts, etc.) every single episode.
There was an episode where a Japanese lobster arrived to take out a threat on his own. Po got incensed for a reason I don't remember and began acting pretty selfishly. The lobster beat him down again and again and used a line I just can't get enough of for one reason or another; "Forget 'I'. There is no 'I'. There is only what needs to be done."
I watched the show more for the action and characters than the comedy. But one critique I can offer is how egotistical they made Po, at times and how excessively mean they made Tigress on other times. Yes, I know she's supposed to be a very disciplined warrior. But she shows so little empathy and compassion towards others in the show, particularly kids. The only one to help break that shell of hers down slightly was Xan. But we've yet to see that character return or see Tigress go and visit him like she promised
At first the show was okay in my opinion for season 1. But I personally like Season 2 because that's where the episodes start to get serious, I loved the enter the dragon episode. One reason why I liked the episode was because of the cool skadoosh towards the end of the long episode, I guess you could say... it was bodaciously awesome!
honestly, i liked this show from what i remember of it. I mean, aside from you showing literally episode 1 out of a 3 series show, it got really good. I truly feel like you didn't give this show enough of a chance as this is again, only the first episode of the series.
I personally kind of liked this show. I do wish the had a bigger budget behind it, but I enjoyed it. It was like a Saturday morning cartoon to me. The special was one of my favorite things that came out of the show.
3:00 the only exception to this seems to be Jackie Chan Adventures where Jackie only appears in sections at the beginning and end of the show while in the actual cartoon he’s voice by a sound alike.
IKR, Jose! I watched reviews of Robot and Monster by BenTheLooney, HockeyShark20, JavonS83 and Tepes and I love every minute of them! So with that said, can’t wait for Mr. Enter’s review on that show, which is OVERRATED.
andykishore Well, ever since Nickelodeon move the series to Nicktoons Network, nobody talks about the series. I was one of the only viewers to watch the last time Robot and Monster aired on Nickelodeon. Then I watch again on Nicktoons. Looking back now, it was okay, like, it’s like CatDog, but the duo are likable instead of one character we supposed to care about, like we care for Cat and we hate Dog, but we like both... well.. Robot and Monster.
Spoiler but he said he HATED it on Twitter, probably is gonna be bottom tier for him, it was funny because when he made that comment most replies were surprised and angry for that.
I actually enjoyed this show, it developed characters that had very little development in the movies (crane, mantis, viper especially) and a really catchy fun theme song, I also actually don't mind the animation since it still uses the Chinese hand drawn moments nicely as well as actually having some fun character moments, honesty even the voices didn't bother me since the show had some really cool villains and stories ❤️🙂 honestly only one of the dream work shows I didn't like was monsters vs aliens as it felt nothing like the movies whereas this at least still felt in good spirit with the movies, though yeah I do like the movies way more. different strokes different boats I guess
The negative comparison Kung Fu Panda 1 & 2 has been made between a Nickelodeon spin-off that objecticely could have been so much more... 🤬 Although, I guess it makes sense for them to have been more underdeveloped in the movies because they don’t have as much screen time, but while they’re not as fully developed as the main character, they are still very powerful nonetheless. Same case goes with Big Hero 6. The characters at least have better development than mockbusters characters, even if they start off very likeable and haven’t changed at all from beginning to end.
Kieran Stark Kung fu panda is my all time favourite movie and the second and third film are on similar level of quality for me but my one issue with all 3 films is characters like viper get no development or offer barely any screen time despite being put amongst the main characters. Mantis and crane got better by the 3rd movie but it still wasn't great so the fact they gave more time for those characters in the show helped make them more interesting
I thought the animation and characters looked weird when I saw this; but I liked some of the villans they came up with. Like the boar guy, the rhino guy, Tamu tai, Shifus ex, and Tai lungs nephew. I can only remember Tamu tais name.
As a major fan of the movies, I was super excited for this show, but like you said the humor made it really hard to watch. The characters weren’t treated with the same respect that they had in the movies. I wish they kept with the same tone between the two, because I would have loved seeing more of the furious five especially.
I don't know. I remember liking this show when it was still around. It's not one of those shows that I would go out of my way to watch, of course, but it was entertaining in its own right. Also, I guess the theme is hit or miss with most people, with Enter it's clearly miss, but I liked it. ALSO, I never had any idea Po was voiced by someone other than Jack Black in this series.
I don't care about the animation, or the voice act, I just care about the concept of each episode... They are legendary with the movies... Po is not real but he is my idol ♡
Yep, the animation would have worked much better in 2D. But the worst part of LOA was how the main characters were portrayed. (Not so much Shifu, though.) Po was a lazy man-child, ass-hat putz. Tigress was an emotionless, no-nonsense tomboy bitch. And Mr. Ping was a self-centered, manipulative asshole. I think my 3 favorite episodes are Father Crime, A Tigress Tale, and Serpent's Tooth.
I remember watching this show when I was in I think middle school? It was alright and I'd watch it when it was on, like with Penguins of Madagascar, but I never sought out to watch every new episode like I did with like Adventure Time at the time.

Avoiding Dragon Ball Z Syndrome while still keeping tension is a fine and delicate art.
Yeah your right, now that I think about it.
Yeah, there was literally an episode where he had to fight some sort of demon/monster that would get bigger and stronger if it got punched or kicked. He had to strategize and not fight it , which made it smaller then he caught it in a jar.
FusionOmni yep and then Kung fu panda 3 came and the show turned into DBZ lol

Yeah, even after years I still remember most their backstorys that showed why they were evil.
The Rhino was a former prison guard that got fired and lost everything after Tai Lung got killed (no prison guards needed anymore)
The inventor pig became evil originally made his machines for the army, but then the martial arts users considered them inferior and unethical.
Like he has had some big surprises when rating these like fanboy chum chum I want to see them all in comparison to each other
That's a great idea for an extra video at the end.
Maybe he'll end up posting such a tier list on deviantart
At the end of each MLP season review Mr Enter did, he had a ranking of each episode. So it's even been done before _by him_. Here's hoping!

Mr. Enter's fans: "Ah shit; here we go again."
People who only watched Nick-o-Rama: "Ah shit; here we go again."

I don't get this.

One of the bigger issues I always found with the show was the Furious Five being reduced to jobbers in most episodes, unless the episode was focused around them. I get that it’s Po’s show basically, but these are supposed to be some of the greatest warriors in China, cut em a break!
Andrew Mason well the show added more lore and backstory to the five and that is why I watch them in chronological order shirts first then first movie then first half of the tv show and holiday special then the second movie then last half of the series then third film

Star Wars on the other either watch them by release or chronological you make the pick on that one
I know. Are there not any other martial artists in all of China? Or like.... local military or law enforcement or something? It can’t just be these seven guys, right.....?
basically the same issue the movies had, hoenstly
Sara Fontanini In the movies it was handled way better. In the first one, the Five held their own against Tai Lung until he busted out the techniques they had no knowledge of. The second one they surrendered due to numbers and a loss of morale form seeing Poe die. In the final one they were dealing with Chi magic, which nobody could fight against anyway. In the show they lose fights to things they should, by all accounts, curbstom

HOOOOO BOY HERE WE GO
As much as I like this show as a kid, I do have to agree with you, it wasn’t as good as I remembered, but if you want an episode here that doesn’t rely on butt jokes after a dark and serious tone, I highly recommend S2 EP7 “enter the dragon”.

@@theshenpartei Yeah, my impression of Ke Pa is that he was truthfully on a higher level than Tai Lung and Shen were.
It also developed the characters, especially Tigress.

marianne mccrank I actually liked Kung Fu Panda quite a bit as well, but opinions are opinions.
José Lucas agreed
I feel like there's a few elements in this show that at least show why the show was better than most people think. The villains for one were actually pretty decent given how the actors who portrayed them did put some charm into 'em. and some of the stories they did were pretty close to being on par with the movies. That being said though i do agree that the humor drags down the show a bit since it does kill the tension in the serious scenes. As for the animation complaint I think that this is to be expected given the fact that this is like watching the old Disney sequel movies or tv shows.
But when compared Penguins and Dragons: Riders of Berk this show is inferior to those two.
It's Nick meddling that saw to that.

I still legitimately Enjoyed this show; even if Mr. Enter DIDN'T!!
To this day I don’t get why they didn’t put the logo in the actual intro
Sam Fimple well maybe pent did some research
Sam Fimple well this takes place before the second film and some episodes being after the second film
Sam Fimple somebody probably spilled the beans pun intended
This is why I like Paws of Destiny better. Better voice acting, plot development, and animation.
I was really surprised to find out it wasnt Jack Black voicing Po in this show. The guy they got sounds exactly like him.
Has anyone noticed that most of the clips in this video are just from the first episode?
What does that matter?

Phil well this was po’s early days as the dragon warrior and the five can’t be there for him for most of the time and there this thing in writing called character development you see it overtime as the series progress and you got some episodes focusing on the personal struggles of the five
plus and you’re right mostly about the series take place in between the films but I can tell you some of the episodes take place after the second movie and around this time the third movie was being made

Phil would you give second and third season a chance
@@theshenpartei if it utilizes the 5 as more than glorified damsels in distress or plot devices.
I always thought Kung Fu Panda was one of Nickelodeon's best shows, even though a lot of characters are barely used.
I watched the entire series and still loved it
Is it weird that I definitely remember watching this show as a kid but not remembering the actual episodes? 😂
Fullmetal Alchemist's only flaw is the stale and cheap humor.
Xiaolin Showdown is underrated
I saw that show on Cartoon Network
I really enjoyed the character interactions, and a lot of the episodes had amazing premisises, one had mr ping unknowingly leading a crime cartel because he made a really good soup
Mochi Man same here
I'm very glad he mentioned Xiolin Showdown
In my option everything he said was a valid point but I wish he talked about the plots more and give an example of one because he did say it was good for that
I really like Kung Fu Panda because I felt it stay true to all of the character's personalities. Yeah the animation took a hit but the action is still there.
Zeo Spark I can explain the animation because this was dreamworks animation first time doing a tv show and you know hard it is to animate fur
I feel you've been over critical on a lot of these shows, which is weird because there were some gems in here.
oh man i dont know if i can take your Korra review, but the power of Enter compels me
The best episodes of this show were when tai lungs nephew showed up
KFP:LOA had the same problem that Emperor's new school had; he was learning the same two or three lessons (don't be conceited, don't take lazy shortcuts, etc.) every single episode.
There was an episode where a Japanese lobster arrived to take out a threat on his own. Po got incensed for a reason I don't remember and began acting pretty selfishly. The lobster beat him down again and again and used a line I just can't get enough of for one reason or another;
"Forget 'I'. There is no 'I'. There is only what needs to be done."
Jack Black's impersonator sounds pretty good
They should've done this show in 2D as they had done with "Secrets of the Furious Five" and "Secrets of the Scroll".
I remember this show I actually liked it when it first came out in 2011
I personally kind of liked this show.
Can’t wait for Robot and Monster review!
@José Lucas I don't understand why it even has fans. It's basically SpongeBob but if he was best friends with Squidward. In the post movie era
IKR, Jose! I watched reviews of Robot and Monster by BenTheLooney, HockeyShark20, JavonS83 and Tepes and I love every minute of them! So with that said, can’t wait for Mr. Enter’s review on that show, which is OVERRATED.
Robot and Monster was cancelled after one season. Does that give you a hint to why it's underrated?
andykishore Well, ever since Nickelodeon move the series to Nicktoons Network, nobody talks about the series.
I actually enjoyed this show, it developed characters that had very little development in the movies (crane, mantis, viper especially) and a really catchy fun theme song, I also actually don't mind the animation since it still uses the Chinese hand drawn moments nicely as well as actually having some fun character moments, honesty even the voices didn't bother me since the show had some really cool villains and stories ❤️🙂 honestly only one of the dream work shows I didn't like was monsters vs aliens as it felt nothing like the movies whereas this at least still felt in good spirit with the movies, though yeah I do like the movies way more. different strokes different boats I guess
mattyluvspokemon08 let’s not forget tigress
The negative comparison Kung Fu Panda 1 & 2 has been made between a Nickelodeon spin-off that objecticely could have been so much more... 🤬
Although, I guess it makes sense for them to have been more underdeveloped in the movies because they don’t have as much screen time, but while they’re not as fully developed as the main character, they are still very powerful nonetheless. Same case goes with Big Hero 6. The characters at least have better development than mockbusters characters, even if they start off very likeable and haven’t changed at all from beginning to end.
Kieran Stark again the show takes place between the first 2 movies and the third one was in development when it was still on the air
@@theshenpartei Well yeah! It was made at that time!
The show is like they took the movies, and made a cheap, watered down diet version without the carbonation, if that makes sense.
I thought the animation and characters looked weird when I saw this; but I liked some of the villans they came up with.
Like the boar guy, the rhino guy, Tamu tai, Shifus ex, and Tai lungs nephew. I can only remember Tamu tais name.
Greg Moon fenghuang and junjie
Fun fact: Viper was actually still voiced by lucy lu
I loved this when I was younger
BBK113 same here
Yep, the animation would have worked much better in 2D. But the worst part of LOA was how the main characters were portrayed. (Not so much Shifu, though.)
Po was a lazy man-child, ass-hat putz.
Tigress was an emotionless, no-nonsense tomboy bitch.
And Mr. Ping was a self-centered, manipulative asshole.
I think my 3 favorite episodes are Father Crime, A Tigress Tale, and Serpent's Tooth.
Best Nickelodeon animated show based off a movie
3:01 the streets never forgot class of 3000
I remember watching this show when I was in I think middle school? It was alright and I'd watch it when it was on, like with Penguins of Madagascar, but I never sought out to watch every new episode like I did with like Adventure Time at the time.
The rare moment where the cartoon show fails to live up to the actual movies.
waters228 91 well they need time to build up the next China or world ending baddie

AnimationFanatic I remember that show to
the show is fine, nothing amazing but fine
blacktallsmart19 did you like the penguins of Madagascar one?
As someone who generally thought this show was mediocre, let me share the few episodes i actually liked:
Season 1:
Rhino's Revenge
Big Bro Po
Challenge Day
Monkey in the Middle
Season 2:
Enter the Dragon: Parts 1 & 2 (the only time the show came close to matching the movies)
Season 3:
The Hunger Game
A Stitch in Time
Eternal Chord
The First Five
Po the Croc
This show was one of my favorites on nick growing up. still fun to watch imo.
5:29 ...I'm very tempted to make a "that's the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a T"-type joke.
