I unlocked a waterlogged Oliver 60 by filling the cylinders with CRC 556. 24 hrs later I pulled the starter, put a 4' bar in the flywheel, and the weight of my hand on the end of the bar had it loose and moving. 2 days before, we spent about 3 hrs dragging that tractor around the lot, trying to knock it loose.
I had a 440 IC at one time. You could pull the engine with radiator, as a package, to make other work easier or to replace the clutch. No need to drain out and remove the radiator. John Deere is very proud of their service manuals, but it the long run, very much worth the expense, because they do give you the shortcuts.

Man, stuck engines suck. I just picked up an old massey 3165 industrial tractor with loader. Its got the perkins 4 cylinder diesel. Had an upright stack and no rain cap. Dont know how long its been like that, but engine is stuck. Weep hole in exhaust is clear, so im hoping most water made its way out and i can unstuck it without rebuilding. That kinda put a stop for a while to my will it run video. Haha. Like you content. I live seeing these old machines put back to work

Those old dozers just turn into money pits if steering clutches and brakes are bad or stuck, and it needs to come apart. I've never done them but quite a few guys on the forums I've been helping others on with questions about machines have. They always comment to the guys wanting to buy cheap dozers that have sat or had problems before they found it to run. If they didn't come unstuck I'd run it for a few mins and see what happens, $850 for a motor kit could be the cheap problem.
It's actually interesting watching and listening to the boy he's pretty clued in to whats going on. He'll make a mechanic, I've had some worked for me never had a clue and they'd never learn it and be any good they needed to do something else they could do. Like I've always said Snap On tools don't make the good mechanics L.O.L It's either in you or it isn't he has it. Thanks for the video's it's always interesting seeing what you drag home and get going. Take care guys.

The person with the steel pry bar started the engine turning slightly the ratchet socket of that size you can forget about it, Either use 3/4 drive or 1’ drive to use minimum force but with no flex which would happen in a smaller drive,

One thing that can help y’all is putting vinegar on the rusty parts you need to remove or whatever. Vinegar eats away the rust and leaves behind the good stuff and helps makes it easier to do your job. For ie: if you had known about and had put vinegar on what you were doing in this video, and let it sit for a while and let it eat away the rust it would have been easier for you to get that done and in a shorter time.
Try it and see... but some stuff you have to let soak and some stuff you just need to keep wet with the vinegar until it breaks it free for you.
You can experiment with something you have on hand and just drop it in some vinegar overnight and see what it looks like in the morning.

And the barefoot mechanic scores again with the help of Dad. I luv how you guys can get stuff to work again. You remind me of another feller named Mustie 1(UA-cam channel) who brings all kind of equipment back to life that others would scrap.

does that socket set have a 1/2" breaker bar, take a breaker bar and put 2-3 ft pipe like 3/4 o 1 " whatever fits the tightest over the handle. maKES GOOD LEVERAGE WHEN TRYING TO LOOSENING UP SOMETHING, AND A 3/4 DRIVE SOCKET SET IS EVEN BETTER WHEN TRYING TO Loosening thing up

Ever Spray Liquid wrench down the cyl? I worked for Department of Transportation and seen a mechanic do that. Let it sit for 24hours. Then flushed it out with new oil and gas. Bingo. engine fired right up after 25 years.

    Take head off...easy
Check for rusted cylinder valves etc.
Motor can be ruined if swallow valves etc
