Ashwaganda over long term is problematic; do more of your research on this; the info he gives is insufficient. As for 5HTP, it inhibits the production of the necessary amino acid, l-tyrosine & so one must supplement for it (@ 10x the amt of 5HTP) when taking 5HTP. Finally, as for consulting your health care provider on supplements: lots of luck! the majority of MDs have no training nor, worse, interest in nutritional medicine.
@@intermilan6202 dear, I've never used it as I have anxiety and not depression. Plus, it's very expensive in my country. Ashwagandha helps both anxiety and depression.

Look up Dr. Michael Platt, who specializes in adrenaline dominance Which he says is the real cause of anxiety and insomnia among many other symptoms. There are lots of video interviews with him here on YT.
Thank you so much for sharing this information. I've had insomnia for 3 years it just kind of suddenly creeped up after a lot of stressful events. I've seen countless doctors have had dozens of tests done. I was severely deficient in some different minerals and 5thp and GABA. I'm on 5thp but Gaba gives me anxiety; do you have a suggestion on what else I could take instead of gaba? Thank you!!
Just a question: is it true that GABA assumed from supplementation doesn’t get trough brain blood barriers? If it’s like that it would be useless to supplementing it. What’s your opinion about it? Thanks
It works for me, I don't suffer from anxiety attacks anymore. I'm more focused and have better sleep quality. I don't have outbursts anymore. I'm generally nicer now.
Great video. My doctor recommended magnesium taurate for high blood presssure, but I rarely see much discussion of it online. Can you offer any advice about taking it or not? Thanks so much!

Hi! Thanks for watching. Suja Uber Greens juice doesn't list magnesium on the label because it likely doesn't have significant amounts. While it's packed with leafy greens and veggies, which can contain magnesium, the juice may not retain enough to meet labeling requirements
Uff, no way I can ever use valerian… It makes me consistently tired. It feels sedative rather than relaxing for me. I strongly dislike it… I use Ashwagandha and Rhodiola alternatively and those work great for me.
But I've also recently come across articles saying the vitamin D deficiency thing is exaggerated and there's really not as much need for Vit D supplements or they're either not as helpful or beneficial?
You are saying these supplements work right away but when you look them up it says it takes 3 mos. Please say you are legit. Read the back of a ginseng bottle it says 3 mos. Please explain.
With ginseng in particular a number of my patients began feeling the effects right away...I'm not sure what brand of ginseng you are looking at but the 3 month disclaimer may be a way to manage expectations or encourage people to take more ginseng
I learned from other Dr. Breus videos he has his PhD in Sleep Psychology and he is also experienced (degreed?? I forget) in the medical aspect of sleep. Ashwaganda is very bad for people with thyroid disease. I have Hashimotos and tried it before doing my own research. Made me depressed and didn't help with my sleep. Sorry that he didn't do his homework.
He says there are different isotopes of ashwaganda. This implies that it is radioactive. I would be skeptical of this person, who is not trained to prescribe medication’s.

I have taken all 6 and none helped. I took 5 of the six at same time too with no effect. Loved Valerian/Hops combo tea, because it made me flatulate.
