Great question... It's a matter of time for me. Hard to run an agency and also make time for UA-cam videos and music production and performance and also upkeep 2 UA-cam channels.
I haven't made any withdrawals yet but why is it all or nothing. I could have sworn when I signed up there was a choice of the dollar amount that you wanted to withdraw. Now it seems to be all or nothing.
Hey Adrian. Thank you for some really well made content over the last few months that I've been watching. I wanted to ask your opinion on something. How can you best explain smaller artists on Instagram / UA-cam / Streaming services that have little to no social presence, but are still raking in hundreds of thousands of listeners? One that comes to mind in particular that I've been a fan of for quite some time is an artist named "aftertheparty". His socials only see posts maybe a few times a year, he only drops MAYBE twice a year an ep or single, only posts screenshots and little snips and no actual photographs. However he is still pulling in crazy engagement on these posts, gets streams like crazy and remains relevant to his fanbase whenever he drops. He claims to have done little to no promo in the past. Is all of this just done behind the scenes? How can someone in this day and age maintain such high streaming and fan engagement as an indie artist with literally almost zero content or communication? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Thanks for showing him to me. Couple things... 1) he's very mysterious and ambiguous in all he does... This builds intrigue with this fanbase for sure. I know as I was looking I was like "who is this kid.. is he black or white?" Not knowing made me dig in more. That's a great marketing strategy btw 2) his music is very chill, short, and emotional. Great music to listen to when you are studying, doing homework, or high lol. I'm sure his audience is mostly young people in school. This is good for many reasons... #1 being it's easy to put his music on repeat. #2 repeating music makes the algorithm push your song more, and on top of that Lo-Fi, chill beats naturally get a crazy amounts of streams from students. 3) His fans by the looks of it are super loyal, he's def built a cult like following. That's partly because of everything I mentioned above. He's a great example of finding a niche (lo-fi rap) and an audience (students) and make great content for them. Everyone can do it. 4) I'll boil his success down to having a brand (mysterious and ambiguous), his content strategy (lo-fi, chill, and emotional music), knowing his audience (students), and being consistent. Basically everything I try to get everyone who watched my videos to do 😊
I'm trying to update my phone number on distrokid but the website won't let me. I no longer have the phone number that's on my distrokid and i dont know what to do. I'm just tryin to update from the old number
