It's because Tunecore and Distrokid have been around long enough to have high-profile cases of screwing over their artists, including taking down music from paid-up "leave a legacy" users. Give it another year or 2 and I'm sure Landr will get bought out and become just as corrupt as Tunecore and Distrokid.

I've been emailing CDBaby for almost two months now trying to straighten out my "Legacy Account!" it's insane how many emails it took to get a clear, concise solution to the issue. That's why I am watching this video....I think I may be done with CD Baby (which is a bummer because Ive been with them for many years).

LANDR released my single with the wrong date (2017!) as another poster on this thread also describes. I have another pending issue that needs to be corrected. Note: there is only chat bot and email support. Auto response states: "We’re reviewing your request (xxxxx) and will get back to you as soon as we can. Depending on your request, it may take 1-7 business days for a response." It took four days for them to fix the metadata on my single release, which was pretty upsetting. I'm just stating my experience with LANDR so far. I hope it is an anomaly but I am nervous now about releasing more singles and my album with LANDR.
Last I tried to contact CDBaby, but couldn't get a hold of them. Years ago, their CS was good. Now, there almost like nonexistent. But that was a year and a half ago. Idk what they are right now.

Don't worry about the bad reviews. For the most part that's just unhappy and underachieving customers but for the most part only the unhappy ones will ever leave a review. Decide what you want distribution or label services or a full label deal and pursue what’s best for you.

Yep, I had those too. Tried to cancel my plan with them for days, but their customer service s*cks. Only when I directly e-mailed one of there people saying they where scamming me, that they actually anwsered me. In the end they did cancel it for me, but the overall experience was so demoralizing.

Yes, I experienced it. My problem is with the artist's name, where my artist's name is always rejected on the grounds that the name is already indicated on the label. I always send emails to them to get the best solution, but it doesn't produce any results. The only way I would have to buy additional artists by paying them, but I don't want to. when the music has been released in stores, my music does not appear in some stores.
@@simplyb.8959 its usually customer service with distributors nowadays. There's a few good indies and some new upcoming ones like BlinkDistro which seems to be making a strong stance on supporting independent music
You should look at the Trust Pilot reviews of these companies. All are mostly negative. And go through the Terms of Service like how Miss Krystle, the Top Music Attorney does.
Is LANDR worth it? I have 3 musical projects and going thru a nightmare with Distrokid - but it's impossible to solve, and impossible to get in touch with anyone to help

Mastering software video would be great, preferably a non subscription based option. Personally I make electronic music and just need a very basic "finalizer" polishing with some "background noise removal" capabilities.

Can you give examples of your experiences of collecting monies from your muscial works via LANDr's as an example? Some of the points to cover are; How often are sales statements issued?, When sales are made, when do an artist receive their royalty check(s)? If an artist is registered with PRO ( publishing co.-BMI or ASCAP) is that area covered also?, What if I created the music and possible lyrics with an Ai platform but can monetize the works due to the platforms Terms of Service Agreement, are there any legal restrictions of roadblock hindering monetizing the ownership of those works? I know it's alot of questions but these are very important one to consider using LANDr distribution or any other distributors. Please respond. I'd appreciate it ! swkiii

I switched to LANDR after CD Baby. At least im trying something new and cheaper. I'm buying subscription on Distribution Pro pack. And I'm releases couple releases through them. Now its a month past and some tracks atill not available on UA-cam and TikTok 😤 Half of my questions to support team just ignored. And one thing you should know, its actualy FUGA do all the distribution, not the LANDR directly and like I see now thats may be a real problem cause if FUGA don't do something for any reason, so LANDR can't do nothing. I'm so disappointed because of this just at start of cooperation with LANDR 😤
I'm having very similar problems with LANDR Pro Distribution support, after moving away from CDBaby. My one release still not on UA-cam after multiple emails. I did not know that FUGA does the distribution for LANDR...FUGA is owned by Downtown Music Holdings, which owns CDBaby!!...so really, seems more and more like there is only ONE giant corporation doing music distribution so it seems it basically doesn't matter which 'platform' you use....they all use the same backend and it's just a matter of Luck whether you have a good experience or not with them. Maybe will go back to CDBaby, at least they never messed up my releases.

Not real knowledgeable but I read 100,000 streams gets you $400. Pretty much hopeless for making a meaningful amount of money unless you are a genius, spectacularly gorgeous, or very, very lucky. I have a niche indie repertoire I doubt will ever make me significant money, and only am trying to get on streaming platforms to get gigs that will draw maybe 30-70 people .
