nope, i got a test on it and i thought it best to come here.
+Dalis Youngblood (DJ) I hope the test doesn't have you memorize formats. Those are done by citation machines these days (Bedford Bibliographer and Son of Citation Machine). A test of when to use sources, paraphrase v. quotations, common knowledge, etc. is a good thing: ua-cam.com/video/A4TLWb5CdK8/v-deo.html
David Taylor took the test and it was mostly citation and other bullshit. Luckily it was multiple choice and true and false. Thank you though :D

It's currently 2021. I forgot how to make MLA format, and then I found this video. Its completely straight forward. This video has helped so much. I'm taking English class and it has been very helpful even after 10 years.

I am a first time College Student after graduating 7 years ago. I hadn't even ever had to use MLA formatting and I was extremely embarrassed to find out that I was the only one in my class who didn't know how. I also didn't have to do many essays in school, which everyone finds surprising. Haha! This has helped me tremendously and David Taylor, you are a fantastic instructor!

This happened to me with APA. I had never used it. Then a stupid teacher decided to require it because she didn't know MLA. But didn't teach us how to do it. Just expected us to figure it out.

In top tool bar menu, click on View > then place check mark in ruler. But to properly set up document, click on Page Layout > then Margins arrow > Select Normal (1 inch on all four sides)

Perfect. As I'm a foreign exchange student I wasn't used to this format at all and I haven't heard of it ever before, and instead of reading pages of explanations and try to find all that stuff in Word I could just listen to that for about 5 minutes and I got the basics I need! I love this tutorial. SO many of my college students have no idea how to do this, or even how to justify titles or headers (they just space or tab over). I'd love if you also had a tutorial like this for APA formatting.

I came to this video sort of by accident. I would say I am a master of Microsoft Word, but am now using Libre Office Writer on Linux. I forgot whether or not block quotes were still double-spaced. As an essay veteran, and English expert, coupled with technology buff, I applaud David Taylor for making the most user-friendly, informative, easy-to-follow, and comprehensive UA-cam video I have ever seen. You are just fantastically easy to understand and work with. I wish you made videos for how to raise plants, and fix cars. No one would need auto body shops, or plant nurseries before Valentine's Day. Thank you so much for being so human. It was so refreshing I cannot even explain it. Next thing is to help me figure out how to make a bibliography in Linux Ubuntu's Libre Office ;)
Take great care and keep doing what you are doing if you still are. The world will never have enough teachers, leaders, and tutors like Mr. David Taylor.

+Hunter Wang Thanks for everything you say, Hunter. My best advice for creating any bibliography is the Bedford Bibliographer--which allows you to add annotations and then download the whole thing together.

My professor himself doesn't go into detail of what all he wants, and usually has to waste his time going back to help students after they have made their online submissions. He does it to me all the time, but this video should help me out exceedingly well! Right now, I have to write at least a 4-5 page essay about Literature Arts and how it impacts Christian life. So whenever I cite a small quote or statement, do I need to put in parenthesis the page number of the book, or author and page number? (p 55) or something like (James, 198-199) These are just examples.

I'm sure this is helpful, but I just don't have the patience. I want to begin typing my paper and not lose my train of thought. I have don't get the idea to choose a 'look' over one's content. I'm researching and writing all I can. I sure as hell assure a reader they can read off of it, and it won't be messy. But to follow a damn format like this seems unecessary. Had to rant, and will lose marks in time.

Thanks for your comment. I advise students not to use the references tool because it is not updated to the 7th edition. For a citation machine, my recommendation is Bedford Bibliographer, which I have a video about here on UA-cam.
