fun fact: the claidheamh mor's damage vulnarability is only active when it is active, making it pretty good for hybrid knigh as it is the only sword without a downside when used with a grenade launcher (aside the skullcutter, but the claidheamh mor actually has useful stats). plus the +25% charge on kill works really well with the tide turner as mele kills will instantly refill your charge. this is at least my favorite way to run hybrid knight

@Makerpace1 another tip about the claidamor is that the extra charge duration Is applied has soon has you swap to the weapon, so you don't have to wait for the whole sword animation, kinda niche but still pretty helpful I find
I agree and I use the iron bomber or lock n load depending on map as they both seem more useful to me over stock
A lesser known quirk about the eyelander is that if you change loadouts outside of spawn from a demoknight to a normal demo (keeping the eyelander in melee) you can transfer the heads from a knight to a normal demoman when you touch the resupply cabinet. Gotta be careful to change loadouts via a bind outside of spawn, your head counter resets if you do it in spawn.
After getting only two heads, you already are a buffed demoman, with more health and speed than a normal demo. Getting a full four makes you the scariest thing on the server.

@@Makerpace1 The gameplay loop is quite interesting because once you get a few heads and switched to a normal demoman, you have a vested interest in keeping yourself alive.

I don't know if the bug is fixed yet but if you switch the eyelander to a different melee like the zatoichi outside of spawn you still keep the shield bash damage buff (won't work on all melees)
I've heard about that, players in the community either label it "Ultimate Demo" or "Triple Primary"
As an avid hybrid knight player and demoman main in general, it's the most fun I have playing the game. Great video, really well made!
It's actually crazy, before making this video I almost never touched Demoman. But hybrid knight has been so much fun that I play demoman as often as I play my main!
I actually play hybrid as my main playstyle. Iron bomber in hand, zatoici in pocket and targe ready. I go on violent rampages with the katana pretty often even tho most of my victims are left... Mutilated to say the least. Nice to see that this subclass still gets attention
I feel like its underrated at times! I love your hyper aggressive loadout, I need to give the zatoici a chance.

Loch n Load is also a good primary choice, while it does worsen Demo's ability to handle multiple enemies the faster longer reaching pills make a hybridknight more dangerous at a longer range and counters his weakness vs engineers.
Eyelander also boosts shield bash damage by +5 per head, the cap for this is 5 heads. Splendid Screen has a +8.5 bonus instead.

This might sound stupid but i like persion persuader with hybrid knight. You get more charge for the tradeoff of less ammo. It actually works seeing how getting kills drops a ammo box. Which refils both your charge and grenade launcher. Id specifically use the iron bomber or loose cannon for grenade launches plus the charge
its unorthodox for me, but the idea seems solid. used to use the persian persusder all the time. might be time to pick it back up
This video is perfect for me right now, since i came back to the game and couldn't figure out what to play so i played demo knight for fun but that wasn't really efficient so tried it with a launcher and it was great fun

you forgot about Iron Bomber Jumping, which is another reason to why it's a direct upgrade to the Stock Grenade Launcher, and also another reason to why it's a great choice for Hybrid Knight. also, Hybrid Knight at 4 heads actually moves at 123% speed, not 117% speed. I do also want to mention that random crits aren't to be taken into consideration of balance, as you're relying on a dice roll just to get a random crit. I would also say that the Half Zatoichi would probably be a better choice than the Skulcutter. Other than what I've said, I think this was a really good explanation to Hybrid Knight, and I really think people should try it.

I play like this (Grenade Launcher, Tide Turner and The Eyelander) ever since I started playing demoman, and choose him as my main. I never even bothered with the sticky launcher because I don't like it. I only ever play as demoknight mostly on medieval maps, and from time to time on other maps.
Its all personal preference, and I rock this loadout too when I wanna do trimping :)

personally I like using the claidheamh mòr since I can charge for longer making easier escapes and allowing me to kill ennemies that are further away or running away easier (without using pipes as sometimes I cant aim at all)
It's all about practice! A little bit each day goes a long way. Tr_walkway is a FANTASTIC place to practice landing pipes.

Good video. One small production tip. Maybe use a pop filter or if you have one move it a bit further away from the mic. The plosives be tough sometimes. looking forward to another vid.

In tf2 as a demoman I’m more of a hybrid knight instead of a regular demoman that uses a sticky bomb launcher and my melee I always use is the katana for hybrid knight

Just hop onto tr walkway for like 10 mins before u join a real match and practice your aim! i promise it helps way more than you would think

Yesssss the damage is so good.
The reason I play this is honestly simply because I love using the pipe launcher, but I hate using the stickies. Stickies aren't fun, you can't even direct hit anyone, where am I supposed to draw dopamine from, spamming those stickies? And killing through a sticky trap never even feels fair. So I trade that boring weapon for resistances to let me pipe enemies more aggressively. I don't care if the sticky launcher is op, I don't want it.
Thats similar to how i feel. Sticky spam isnt very fun for me either.

imo splendid screen is almost a straight upgrade over the charge n targe

@@Makerpace1 The % difference in damage resistances is (imo) minute compared to the charge damage increase and ESPECIALLY the charge recharge rate. With the increased recharge you are able to stay mobile more often, retreating or attacking as you please. The chargin' targe does look cooler though.

man everytime someones like "With this loadout you can stomp any pub" and then they'll show a clip of them fighting like 3/5 f2ps that all move in straight lines, miss all their shots, and never right click while playing pyro. none of my games have been like that in forever lmao

I usually prefer using the Claidheamh Mòr over the Eyelander just because I don't like the health penalty. Sometimes I will play full Demoknight with the Eyelander for a few kills and then switch out my booties though.
that health penalty is a total bite in the rear. i totally get why you would choose the claidhamh mor over it.
only one thing is dont agree with, 'if an enemy takes out their melee, TAKE THE FIGHT', i dont agree with this if im playing on servers with random crits because anyone who plays demoknight knows if a medic whips out the ubersaw its curtains for you, that shit has 100% crit chance. otherwise great video
That's true... crit chances are increased on melee weapons due to the weird way the "random" crits actually work. Good catch!

I see a crazy amount of hybrid knights in TF2. LIke I'd say they outnumber sticky demos by 2-to-1, or even more.

For me, hybrid knight is the natural choice. I don't use the stickybomb launcher hat much, so a shield is infinitely more useful for me. And with the shield come the swords... Overall hybrid knight is just a better and more fun demoman

7:20 id like to point out that your maths is wrong, demoknight is the fastest class in the game. As well as the speed cap being 5 heads instead of 4. Just some things to keep in mind
You are right, my math is wrong it should be 123% movement speed. However, the scout is still faster. Demos speed caps out at 4 heads, you can check the tf2 wiki for that. You can however become that fastest class by going pure demoknight and equipping the boots. Good catch!
