My 15-month Cockapoo has never once been able to settle out of the crate. He goes on daily heel walks, does nose work, plays tug, and knows place, sit, down and stay. He will just not sooth out of his crate.

Try giving them less attention and have them do less activity outside of the crate. Likely that they are too mentally or physically active out of the crate so encouraging them to settle on a bed while out of the crate and drying times you can’t interact with them directly will help them
To be calmer at home. The reason they won’t settle is because they have built up an expectation of play or attention. So when they don’t get it they stress out or act up until they get it. Do less of that so the expectation goes away

I like your video and the way you interact with the dog. I have a retired racing greyhound and she walks beautifully on a loose lead. Unless she needs a pee or a poo, and then she pulls, looking for the right place to go!. Once that's done she relaxes and will walk on a loose lead again. I use a martingale collar for obvious reasons. Do you have any suggestions?

@@balanceddoguk Amazing, eye opening, difficult, yet so rewarding! I’m coming up to one year. Starting to find my own methods and techniques which is reassuring. I am obsessed with learning though and all my spare time watching other trainers to learn their approach. I’ve subscribed to some courses but I’m self taught and learn mostly through practice with my own cocker spaniel.

I've had to stop letting my 3 dogs off leash together because they take off. They also will pull away from me and run off if they are all together walking down the street if they see a squirrel, rabbit (or ask me about deer). The 2 younger dogs (1 yo lab mix, 2 yo Irish Setter mix) also play, bite and fight all the time when they are inside. It's annoying and loud at times. I guess they are not ready to be off leash.
