Nonprofessionals doing the job, Great job guys. Nice to learn from your mistakes. I'd have lost the bolt you didn't need to remove!! Very nice and great video.

The most down to earth video ever! The other mechanic videos tell the instructions as if we all knew what size bolts and other mechanic lingos are being used! Thanks!

Big smile on my face! My son & I also do simple mechanical work together like this on our car and I'm so gratified how he will now tackle mechanical items around the house, the car or on his KTM motorcycle when I'm not around. He's in college now but has learned the satisfaction of doing a job and knowing its been done right!

This gen Accord is probably one of the easiest alternator replacements... Like it when they're easily accessible.. Thanks for the brush up... I always loosened the 14mm first, then the 12mm tension lock nut and bolt and last the 10mm tensioner bolt. I didn't think you had to remove that other 12mm bolt (which you figured out), just the 12mm lock nut and pull the bolt it was fastened to out from the other side... So in all, just the 3 fasteners, the 14mm bolt that pivots the alternator swing, the 12mm nut and bolt which secures the adjustment slide, and the 10mm adjustment bolt... Then just reverse the order when installing the new alternator.. And if you spray (if needed) a little lube on that spacer it should push in with channel locks... again, good job. Thanks!.. I will be doing this, and it all came back to me as I watched your video...

Dare I do this? It looks like 1/2 day project. But getting into it will get me more savvy. Thanks for your honesty.

Había que probar el voltaje con el viejo alternador y luego hacer la prueba de voltaje con el nuevo alternador. Para ver la diferencia. Saludos 🇩🇴🙏🏻

It's too easy to get it off and put it back 🤷🏻
But first, get the cables off, second take off the 2 screws down of the alternator for take out easy the belt and third take off the screw up of the alternator. To put back, the same but upside down, that's it 👍🏻

Do you live by the ocean? How often mileage wise are you swapping out the alternator?

We have had the car for almost 3 years before we ever had to change the alternator, I am not sure how many miles were drove between that time, the reason we had to change the alternator was because the ignition switch had gone bad which in turn killed the alternator.
We live on the east coast but not that close to the ocean.
