This angle is better than much of the news media coverage! I thought the drones would be silly, but it really added to the experience. Another iconic Vegas property is gone, but not forgotten!

I was on the strip when they blew down the Dunes! And it's iconic sign! That started a chain of implosions later.
Usually true, but then why did they accept the Faiders NFL team of thug wannabes and losers into represent?
I have watched firework displays from all over the world. This is by far the BEST exstravagas ever.
My friend sent me the video at 12:20 noon , I am 91 years old and I was in tears of sadness but amazed at the technology with the Tropicana . Thank you to all the workers. You should all be very proud k oh f your amazing work. 💞💞🙏🙏🙏💞💞

On June 14, 1997 my Husband Robert and I were married in the Tropicana Chapel. We gambled afterwards (I wore my wedding dress with white hightop tennis shoes!) and won $150 on slots. It was so much fun! Our kids’ names are Jonathan and Kristin so your video caught my eye! Thank you, J and K, your awesome filming means a lot to us. God bless you both.🙏❤️🎉

The permit for the implosion was a $1.2 million. The fireworks was an easy one and a half to $2 million. Trop had firework displays before, when it was open, yes it’s incredibly expensive for a display of that magnitude, then figure in the cleanup after the implosion another couple million. The new Oakland A’s stadium that’s going to be built in its place is projected to cost over $1 billion when finished.

I brought my family with me to the Tropicana 20 years ago. It was our first venture staying at a Vegas Hotel. We loved it, they were very family friendly, my kids enjoyed their pool, the water fall it had was a challenge for them to stand under and get blasted with water but they loved it. We ate our breakfast and dinner there and the food was delicious. In the evening they had a light show in the pool area with popular music. My wife and I played in the Casino and felt safe with the kids in the room. Lots of great memories that have not been duplicated at the other strip hotels since.
I think this is relevant, but I have a narcissistic sister (hear me out) that thought it was strange that I was emotional about having to sell a TV. She more or less said, “It’s just stuff.” But for me purchasing that TV was a moment of getting back on my feet like a trophy for striving through tough times! This video made me reflect on that and the idea that an inanimate object could make one feel emotional. It’s not the object itself it’s the humanity that comes from such places or things! It’s memories that stem from these things and we have a way to re-live them each time we see them… now it is solely a memory…..
We can *TOTALLY* relate, especially since the Trop is the whole reason we moved here. He was offered a job there, so we packed up and left CA, leaving our whole life behind in CA, where we grew up. The Trop and all the people who became part of our life became friends and family. Though it’s not a TV, we’ve been also been in that situation with moving a couple of times and having to donate things. I still wish there were things we could have kept. Thank you so much for sharing that with us. 🥰🥰

WOW. I live in a city that has a well-known fireworks display yearly. It's set off from barges on the Detroit River. But this blows that display out of the water, so to speak. Normally, I would have been in Vegas 2 weeks ago, but my life companion died, and I couldn't face going without him. Thank you for posting this.

Vegas really knows how to put on a great show, and the show must go on. I spent a couple of weeks at the Tropicana over the years. I will miss the mirrored ceilings for sure. I will also miss spending time watching the airport from the balcony. RIP Tropicana!

I got to see quite a few of the people who were doing live videos from the Tropicana implosion this was Far and Away the best. I got to stay at the Tropicana many times and it will be severely missed. I am always a historic preservation nut, so it's always painful to me when they tear stuff like this down, but Vegas does always do it in Grand style. Thank you for being there for us for this special event and doing the live coverage
