Hey, I LOVE Robin Williams!!! And for Owen Wilson's sake, I must say there's NO WAY to outdo his improvisation! RW is one-of-a-kind! And anyone next to him pales in comparison. That's just the way it is.
Hilarious! Look at Owen Wilson's body language. He is overwhelmed and out-performed by Robin. He starts out sitting up right and then slowly begins to lean away from Robin where he remains for the rest of the video.

I think Robin was just a little too intense for Owen. Seems like a calm guy in general.
Robin is a bloody riot and sharp as a knife, the guy always makes me laugh even when he isn't too funny simply because he puts himself out there.

Owen is definitely overwhelmed by Robin's strong personality and tendency to steal the show. They have 2 very different personalities. I used to go in my shell whenever a friend of mine, who is very Robin-like, started entertaining our group of friends. I was like, "Well, there you have it. There's just no competition here. Anything I say at this point is going to be dull, dry, witless and boring." I personally do better one-on-one, and I suspect Owen may be the same.
Owen was just enjoying that ride. They both still played off of each other. Funny.

Who would be? Sorry for all of Williams' talent, this was unbearingly bad!!! I mean can you imagine an unknown comedian doing this? They'd be escorted from the building. Williams' reached a point of fame worship that whatever he did people were socially conditioned to laugh, and not actually stop to consider whether it was funny. Williams is insufferable here.
who would be. As funny as Williams could be this is utterly embarrassing. Williams survived on his reputation sowhatever he did people felt obliged to laugh bydefault. This is painfully unfunny from such a talented man.

I always enjoy Owen, very funny guy. In this clip however you can see that while he probably has around a 150 comedic I.Q. (which covers most of us) Robin a feakish 205 rainman comedic I.Q. Its as if Robbin can time-travel a few minutes ahead of everything going on and come up with the craziest/funniest stuff to say.

I saw it, too. At one point after Robin "stole the act," Owen turned away. I said to myself, "Look at the body language happening there." I figured Owen felt a little sidelined and so he changed his posture. Robin has a very strong presence. He overpowers and dominates once he gets past 1st gear.

As some have said here one could easily illustrate the difference between two generations of entertainers here...and it's sad in a way. Williams is from the one of the last eras where actors, comedians etc were, by and large, energetic showmen and women. Wilson is part of today's era where entertainers nowadays tend to be 'straight' and serious in interviews.

Williams is having a text book manic episode and Owen Wilson clearly knows it is not normal and is leaning away and showing his discomfort. This video is hard to watch.
Robin was not Manic. He was just fast at what he did. There is a difference. Owen doesn't interview well. If anything, he fells intimidated by Robin. Robin doesn't make anyone feel intimidated - people may feel it themselves. It's not on robin.
THis was around the time of wilson's suicide attempt so maybe he was combatting a lot of different demons. That may account for why he seemed so uncomfortable.

Watch him on letterman. Dave's a professional who knows when to cut him off and do it tactfully to keep the interview moving. The interviewer had to have known that Robin will do that if you let him. I'll blame the interviewer before Robin.
