      decrease doesn't mean there's zero absorption. so it's going to be less effective than if you took the stuff in it at 20 different times, but gives you the trade off of absorbing somewhat less effectively for convenience. most people aren't relying on a multivitamin to be their sole source for these things anyway, and they usually do things to make absorption more effective. for instance multivitamins will usually (from what I've noticed) have lower amounts of calcium (like 100mg instead of 300-500mg in a calcium supplement) and magnesium than you'd get in a specific supplement for those, to reduce the amount it's competing for absorption with other minerals so absorption isn't reduced as much

      Aren't all the studies referenced based on synthetic vitamins?
      I would be interested if all this "incompatible" or competition for absorption, etc is BECAUSE the supplements are synthetic thus lack in the necessary enzymes and co-factors, etc. to ENHANCE the absorption, just as the brilliance of nature intended. Our CREATOR knew all these scientific findings way before man figured it out, and HE added certain helping factors so we would get the nutrition from our foods - which is why GMO is such a farce along with the overuse of other chemicals in growing crops - that being insecticides and herbicides...it's actually quite miraculous that we live even 50 years with reasonable health.
      @vikramkaushik2251, @kshiteeshsn263, @reggie5,
      @chelseacraft4669
      Exactly. It's likely BECAUSE the supplements are synthetic (or imitations) of the real vitamins and lack the necessary co-factors and enzymes for the proper breakdown and absorption.
      This point is not being acknowledged that synthetic "vitamins" (chemicals) are somewhat beneficial to a point - beyond which they build up in the body and become problematic - even to the point of toxicity.

      They put me on ACE inhibitors and it took only 4 pills to cause me months of coughing my guts up. At the same time the doctor put me on statins and within days I was in the hospital with rhabdomyolysis. I had an aortobifemoral bypass in 2021 and they put me on gabapentin 300 mg 3 times a day. It was horrible. My scalp was numb, fingertips, skin all over, restless legs, and when laying in bed I would start to cough up gobs of phlegm and so thick it took a lot of coughing to move it. I finally was able to speak to a pain management doctor and he let me have a much lower dose, 100 mg 3 times a day or as needed. I usually take two or three. My real problem with it is that I have now been on it for 34 months and there is no sign that right leg is ever going to come back from the operation. The left leg did great, but the right leg is nearly unusable. I just don't trust doctors that much anymore, I try to stay open minded but I will never again be an inpatient in the VA hospital no matter what the consequences because I would rather die than get treated like that again.

      I tried looking this up, the only sources I saw saying to take them together were from supplement companies. There's no harm in taking them together, but they do interfere with each other's absorption. So, if you're going to bother taking them they're best to take at different times to maximize the absorption.

If it reduces it by 2%, I couldn’t care less. 20%, still probably not worth knowing. We’re taking these vitamins daily, food wouldn’t cover all these everyday anyway so even if only 30% is absorbed, it’s all good specially with the increased doses to compensate. P.s. I ‘can’ delete anyone’s comment on youtube and I ‘may’ know your address. There ‘could’ be a ‘potential’ risk that someone comes to visit you which has been shown in studies to ‘potentially’ cause harm. ;)

    Metals (Zn, Mg, Cu, Ca, Fe) compete with each other due to metal transporters during digestion. Also, the "competition", or decreased uptake, is minimal (10-20%). So, worrying about these issues is likely unnecessary. Exceptions would be with the blood thinners and other pharmaceuticals/medicines.

It is so confusing, and the material is lacking on the internet. Have you already made a video on this? Or would you be interested in making one? I think it is a vital topic to explore as many people are taking amino acids, but might be taking them together leading to competition for their absorption, and thus nullifying any effect from one or the other.

    amino-acid chelation bypasses the competitive interactions that can occur between different minerals when they are absorbed as salts. Use of chelated minerals avoids this problem since they are transported by different mechanisms.
    Iron: bisglycinate, ferrochel.
    Zinc: bisglycinate, L-OptiZinc, picolinate, orotate.
    Magnesium: bisglycinate, taurate, malate, L-threonate, orotate.

    Deficiencies aside, theres a threshold for nutrients that compete for asborption and its a limited window of time (neither consistent from nutrient to nutrient or person to person)
    About 7 years ago i saw the threshold for cal/mag at around 700mg combined receptor load.
    If people are really concerned they can look up some of that stuff and Im sure finer details on it have changed, but 700mg in one moment with cal/mag is a lot amd you likely have little to no concern other than a diminished therapeutic effect.
    Other nutrients may have smaller thresholds.

    Ok Calcium Magnesium. Yes when taken in the crude formats the studies your reading indicate they will do this. They usually use carbonates for some reason in these studies which is perhaps the least absorbable, and its actually important to mention if its magnesium citrate, carbonate, glycinate, sulphate, oxide, etc. because it makes a huge difference. Calcium actually requires magnesium to be absorbed in any meaningful way, if your taking plain calcium carbonate your going to get calcium deposits and upset stomach PH. I wont make a wall of text here but look up the original Cal/Mag Formula By Adell Davis and Mr Hubbard, it is Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Gluconate in an specific ratio mixed with a mild acid and hot water, the mild acid allows it to go into a solution and it quite noticeably absorbs very quickly.

    Confused, In the privious video the combination of Vit D3 , K2 , Omega 3, magnesium & Calcium shoud be taken together but here it states not to combine Magnesium and Calcium. I will try to get my calcium through natural sources. Yogurt, greens nuts and more. Magneiusm is so important for heart health, my doctor prescribed Magnesium glycinate vs. a presrciption drug.
