Love the bin aqua. Used it on a water damage ceilng 2 coats over water damage ceiling. I'm at home this week. Painting a varnished fireplace and window sill in aquaguard. I'm going to hit it with the bins aqua beforehand. This stuff is top notch 😊

Had some water leaks on the bathroom ceiling, which have now dried out & left stains. The roof has now been fixed. I'll give Bin Aqua a try. Cheers for sharing 👍

palatine satin msp light sand 2 coats done looking £70 for 5 litres. its a pre 2010 oil based paint as they are a small firm didn't have to change formula's like dulux crown etc so it would be a lot more durable and will stay white for years

Great job. Did you have to sand the varnished wood before applying the Bin Aqua?

Yes mate just a light key but you don't have to. You can go straight on
      It was just nibs etc

Going to check this out, for sure. What are you using for your woodwork paints these days, Dan? Like your gloss, stain wood, egg shells, undercoats, etc. I’m trying to move away from using oil as well.

Would you now use this over 123plus? Seem the same other that the knotting capability of BIN Aqua - 1 tin now does it all. Cheers

I think zinsser will stop making 123 plus theres no need for it now and not only that its got to be the worst smelling ever smells like gone off salmon. I have to go stick my head in a tin oil gloss to get rid of the smell

@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 Hi Daniel. Can I just ask why your prefered system over the Zinsser BIN is Caparol and not Zinsser Allcoat? I'm looking at using Zinsser Allcoat for external windows/facia after priming with Otex solvent, but will delay if you've hade negative results with it.

@@andychapman3100 Caparol is an amazing finish. Really white. Good shine on the gloss. And they do matt. Satin and gloss finishes interior and exterior apart from the matt which is interior only so I use Tikkurila Everal Aqua 10 instead on exterior matt

🤔🤔🤔 I've used it for water stain and didn't block it, I had to go back to cover stain that worked, I'll have to keep trying aqua before I'm fully converted to it.

Mate a couple of areas needed a second coat but it's so quick to work with saves alot of time but I realise I couldn't just wrap th brush up after use as it went rock solid in the bag

I used it and it’s not as good as traditional bin trust me I rubbed down two stained doors with knots and washed them with meths then applied two primers for two different doors next day I did the scratch test and the water based failed and knots didn’t seal. Painter for 32 years Uk

I've only been using it a couple of months. So far so good for me but time will tell. I still keep Bloakade and BIN also Cover Stain for backup

@@danielnugent2168 all painters follow trends oh it’s water based yes some water based paints are good I use all of them but when I started painting in 1986 we used Permoglaze pink wood primer then an undercoat and gloss and had a depth of shine that was beautiful modern undercoat and gloss since 2010 is shit Daniel I was there the first time around the dulux trade gloss now is nowhere near as good as Permoglaze was or pre 2010 dulux I’m sure you’ll agree most people in there 50’s plus will agree. 👍 I’m 53 and using farrow and ball estate egshell for woodwork a lot it’s good but expensive
