    Does look like the old Anderson windows the exact ones I just repainted myself. Too bad this video wasn’t around about a month ago I spent a fortune on different primers, including Kills. The only one that I could get to not show a. “bleed through was BIN. that stuff works amazing. Thanks for the video.

    Hey, great video. Fellow painter of 22 years here. This is perfect for home DIYers etc but just a few things to save you some time and money. The degloss and sanding serve the same paper, so you don't really need to do both. And BIN is overkill for 99 percent of applications. I use Zinsser Conversation and never have failure or bleed through

    • @vinylxpressionz3479
      @vinylxpressionz3479 Рік тому +2

      if I was to use the degloss are you saying there is no need to sand? I'm asking because I want to paint the wood window trim, base boards, kitchen cabinets, and door but, I'm afraid of bleed through. Also, I plan to do these projects myself and don't want to fail. Please send feedback. Thanks

      @@vinylxpressionz3479 yes deglossing is meant to make it adhere better. Get a good stain blocking primer after deglossing, like zinsser coverstain and then top coat with a trim paint and you'll be fine.

    I painted over a stained wood interior door using a paint for Cabinets and Doors. The paint was advertised as having primer in it. I sanded, and then painted two coats. It came out horrible. The door was a 6 panel door. Within a couple of months, the panels separated at the panel and panel center.
    The dogs were able to scratch through the paint. The step I did not do was the stripper or the No Gloss. With future doors, I will buy a vinyl door that is already white. I am currently doing windows exactly as you show in this video. I will follow the steps you did! Thanks for posting this video!

    Great video! Do you ever recommend doing a light sanding after the BIN Primer coat? I am just starting to paint my trim throughout my house. I'm also using BIN primer, but using SW Emerald Eurathane. In regards to BIN primer, I was surprised to how thin/watery it is. It seemed like when I brushed it on, it went on really thin. But when using a small roller, it went on a little more liberally. Thanks!

      Dan run your hand over the trim after the primer dries. If you can feel a lot of particles in the finish of the primer, a quick scuff sand will smooth those out.

      Hello! You will want to get a rag pretty well saturated, wipe off the trim you will be painting. Let it sit for 2-5 minutes to let the Krud Kutter break down the grease and grime, then take a wet rag to wipe off any Krud Kutter, and finish with a dry rag.

    • @TribblePaintingCompany
      @TribblePaintingCompany  Рік тому +1

      Hi Beverly, great question! To refinish wood trim, you need to start by stripping off the old finish. Since stain penetrates into the wood, it can be quite labor intensive to completely strip it down to bare wood and start fresh. Are you thinking of taking on this project yourself or hiring someone to do the work?
