It really is disheartening that so many grown people never outgrow the mental and emotional aspects of toddlerhood.
Ikr? Temper tantrums like a small child, never taking responsibility for their actions, blaming others, playing the victim. It's more than sad.
Toddlers have more emotional capacity than that, these people are just dumb or very, very evil.

@@LadyMaverick823 Can't confirm it but other comments in one of the threads here mention that the kids knew she had CPTSD and regularly set off fireworks near her house for over a year. At that point I kinda see why she snapped and went through an episode.

I feel bad for the firework lady in the first video. They interviewed her on our local news, she’s a veteran with PTSD. The fireworks weren’t sane so they are illegal. She has to be hospitalized when the ambulance arrived. Makes me sad to keep seeing it spread on social media. Woman legit had a medical condition and her neighbors were douches to her.
I had a neighbor in a multiplex and if my dog moved her bone or I closed the door too loud they would come pounding on the door because her son had ptsd and was a vet. At some point you have to realise you are not entitled to control other's lives. If you cannot be around others then dont live on top of others.
@Happy It’s not the same thing at all. Fireworks are legitimate triggers for military PTSD. Besides, what they did was illegal. You’re not supposed to be setting off fireworks there. She was reasonable to expect that wouldn’t be happening in the neighborhood. Comparing that to the noise a dog makes moving a toy is insane.
@@GadereneLegion agreed it’s not the same thing but with the backstory this woman’s reaction makes much more senses. They were probably Setting off fireworks a lot more than what we saw here just to aggravate her, which is sad and a good example of how children behave towards people today. No respect at all.
I knew by the way she was screaming And grabbed the mail box it was PTD. People who have never heard actual incoming or been in a fire fight have NO IDEA. Once when I was on the phone with my husband the base where he was working came under attack. It sounded EXACTLY like fireworks and that is the most scared I have ever been in my life.
Thank you for the extra context, I thought that might have been the case. Given some of the actual Karen's I've seen in Charlotte's and other videos, I wouldn't have been surprised if a Karen had just decided to start screaming at people enjoying legal fireworks (where I live there are three holidays where people are allowed to set off fireworks purchased from legal vendors), but her reaction felt...like genuine distress.
I saw a meme today that said "grow up and stop calling people Karen, call them c*unt like an adult" and died laughing. But it is a good idea for the nice Karen's at least 😂

the first person shown, the one screaming during a firework display, is absolutely NOT a Karen. Even before seeing comments bellow saying turns out she has PTSD, it was clear to me the sounds were truly affecting her and causing her distress. It is not at all uncommon to see such things happening to people with mental health issues (such as PTSD) or those struggling with sensory overload (such as people with Autism, for example).
Yeah I was gunna say I have cptsd and can act that unhinged tho I’m not a Karen but my mom and boyfriend definitely has patience when it’s an episode.

6:45 • The best part about the Caren that throws the shoe boxes. She was refused service for not wearing a mask. And she was so stupid, she left her wallet on the counter. So they gave the police her information and they showed up at Caren’s house and arrested her for assault. 🤣

I don't get the non-mask-wearers outrage. (And I've worn mine as little as possible in the last 18 months) If you're going to go into a lecture about rights, (I get it, I DO) then you also have to respect the rights of the owners of the business to run it as desired - even if that means if the business acquiesces to rules YOU think are stupid or unconstitutional. The owner has to do that to stay in business - not every owner has the $$$ to fight city hall (or the governor's mansion)

I was called a Karen by a nurse at a hospital one time because my gallbladder was rupturing and I was begging for an ultrasound. They wouldn't give me one and kept telling me I was being an overreactive first time mom. I ended up being taken into emergency surgery because my gallbladder WAS rupturing and I was 15 weeks pregnant.
I hate when the Medical professionals don't listen! Could have killed you!
That's despicable. I hope you're OK. This video, especially that first segment, is making me rethink this "Karen" idea. It never fully sat right with me for exactly this reason. Too many people use it to dismiss and silence even the people with real issues or valid points. This can be dangerous, as cases like yours demonstrate.
@@FloppityFlopFlop777 I think most Karen’s are clinically unbalanced. There’s some trigger there that causes this behavior. They been ignored most of their lives or some other neglectful lifelong experience and they've just become unhinged. We need to show more compassion. It's not OK, I agree. They need to seek help. But we could be more compassionate. Just my opinion.

@@Mayabee321 she was insulting the barista with racial slurs and looked around at all the "white people" and asked "am I right?". Everyone jumped in and started speaking about how trashy her comments were, and she might want to think about that island she's on right about now, because she's alone there. That barista is one of the nicest people. 8 shades of red later, she left without her drink.

I have a friend called Karen who's a total Karen. - However; She uses her Karen powers for good. For example, if you haven't had time off work for a disgustingly long period of time, you bet your bottom dollar she'll want to speak to the manager about it!
I know a woman who totally acts like one ... she got hired to clean my grandma's house and cause I visited my grandma a few times as she used to be at my grandma's house she thought I was not the right behavier for my age like "As I used to be your age... (I was 21 back than) I allready got a job, a husband, 2 children and could buy a house and you? You don't have any of this yet... I don't understand young people..." I told her that I just don't like to get married, just started to be a apprentice in a company with shitty pay and what if I never can/want to aford a house? and she just got mad at me like if my life was her decision. "But you need a husband or at least boyfriend before you turn 30 or else it's too late. You need kids, at least 1 before you are 26!" I said "But if I don't like to get kids and a boyfriend?" she than yelled at me and said I failed horribly in life ...

I was at a thrift store last week, when an older woman was having a screaming fit at the cashier, because they were not taking donations that day. That happens often, because they have limited space and it takes time to sort and price items. I couldn't believe how mad she was! I didn't think about recording until after she stomped out.
After she left, I turned to the cashier and said, "Well! Looks like she's off to spread her "joy" elsewhere, so how many Karens do you see here on an average day?"
She could have done what I do when the thrift stores aren't taking donations. I go to the grocery store that's closest to the large homeless encampment on the edge of town and leave bags of clothes, shoes and small items in a shopping cart for someone to find. They disappear quickly.

My mother is a Karen. On a hot summer day a few years back, we were at Coney Island. We're walking the boardwalk, she wants ice cream. So we stop off at this vendor, she wants a vanilla cone. The vendor scoops up the ice cream, hands my mother the cone. She hands it back to the vendor because the ice cream was melting. The temperature was 90 degrees and it was a dry heat. Of course the ice cream is GOING TO FUCKING MELT as soon as it goes from extreme cold to very hot. I no longer go out with her in public because of this.
My mother wants a Karen by proxy. She isn’t as able bodied, so when she wants to make a complaint, she does it over the phone through me, or tells me in person, what to shout at the worker about. I wear headsets and have to take them off as she goes crazy. I am not a Karen. I am not going to shout forget it, or be rude. She wanted me to be a Karen at Coney Island to the lady for not speaking clearly about the prices. I got a 3 dollar a scoop ice cream. My mother is Spanish and should understand language barriers. She was not raised like that. She became a Karen idk when.
Ah yes, the melting ice cream. My teen daughter works at an ice cream shop and numerous times customers have yelled at her because the ice cream was melting, or they ordered a triple scoop cone and were mad because of the mess it made on their good Sunday clothes before they could finish eating it.

I also feel bad for actual Karens. The Karen at my office is seriously one of the nicest and sweetest people I've ever met. That said, we as a society did need a word for these people.
A friend of mine is writing a barbarian subclass for Dungeons and Dragons called, "Path of the Karen."
I really want to start filming "anti-Karens" when I see them and putting them up on social media... starting a guerilla kindness trend. Unfortunately, I have yet to find any. Hopefully, it's because the "Anti-Karens" are polite, quiet, and go on about their day like nothing happened because to them, it is just a way of life and not because they are a rare breed these days.

The purpose was to make anyone who heard her scream think he had assaulted her.

I remember last time we travelled to the United States and my sister was completely weirded up by the Uber driver dude because he had a camera recording the inside of the car (something not normal in my country), and I, who has known about Karens for much longer than her, was like: "Oh dear. You should always park there now 😁
I go with the mindset there are 2 parking spaces, handicap and everything else. If you don't qualify for handicap parking, you accept literally every other parking spot in a lot could be yours. They don't make those lots as large as they do just so assholes can fight over the closest spot in their immediate field of view, and the time you've spent arguing about it is already longer than the time you would have spent walking on with your day.
Stealing a parking a spot is rude, but certainly not worth getting angry over.

The other 337 parking spots near the door I guess weren't up to her standards. She just wanted to yell at someone. She's lucky that I respect my elders
I'm so glad I'm in the UK when it comes to wearing masks. Nearly everyone wore one here, so those exempt were not questioned because people were following the rules. It seems many more fought the rules in the US, which must have made it much more difficult for those who were exempt from wearing them and they must have been questioned often!
I'm a Brit but don't live in UK. Masks are still mandatory here wherever you go and its as natural as breathing to put on a mask as soon as we open our front door. I feel strange not wearing one nowadays.

Very rude to refuse service to someone with a medical mask exemption. In Canada most places simply stated that they did not except exemptions. Eventually I found compassionate businesses and I only shopped a couple of places that honored my Drs orders...

I have a different take - some women are so accustomed to being in charge at home that they sometimes try to exert that same authority over strangers. When the stranger doesn't take them seriously this results in an error message !

I haven’t watched the whole thing yet but the Uber guy yelling at the women in the car. She was very rude and condescending in part 1 things escalated and he canceled her trip because she was insulting him for being an Uber driver. So he was in the right to yell at her.

I worked uber for a while before switching to just doing Uber eats and than sticking with grubhub and Instacart because Uber is shit in general.
The absolute disrespect and powerlessness you feel when you are in your vehicle being harassed by someone who sees you as less than them and refuses to leave your property and is intentionally and purposely holding you hostage and forcing you to endure their disrespect and abuse is something I never want to feel again. You cant imagine how infuriating and at the same time how scary it is. And for him it’s even worse. I’m a small female, dealing with other females who are acting obnoxious makes me crazy but I don’t have to worry about their made up accusations in the way that he will have to worry.

If you really do have a medical exemption, sensory issues, or any other legitimate reason not to wear a mask in a store that requires it, you can ask for an employee to get your items for you. I saw one video where an employee offered to do that, but the customer said they didn't want them touching/seeing what they were buying 😒

I can see Karen being upset because of the fireworks “IF” she has to work the next day but screaming is not going to solve the problem and she should just called the police and used the sound ordnance to solve the problem.
Also, if it's 4th of July, or new years, shes really got nothing she can do. People are going to celebrate, noise ordinance or not. On holidays it's hard for cops to find time to do anything about noise complaints when there are also shootings, drunk drivers and who knows what else that they need to deal with.
I reported my neighbors years ago for fireworks, not because they were too late at night but because my windows rattled from the boom and I was genuinely concerned about what it was they were blowing up next door, especially since I have 2 very nervous, sound-sensitive dogs. It took 3 hours for police to show up and they didn't even go to the house I specified, they just cruised up the street a few times and shone their spotlights everywhere.

It's all how you look at it. My brother has severe ptsd from his time in the service. Every 4th of July he tells me how much he hates the fireworks, but that his burdens are not for others to bear.
That one immediately made me think of some autistic students I've had. I wonder if she has sensory processing disorder or has suffered some sort of trauma to make her act like that.

I get the whole Karen thing, but honestly, can’t anybody put themselves in their shoes sometimes? I have little kids, and some people have dogs. In the first video you hear “I live here” which means she has some basic rights, right? But she is being ignored. If my kids were scared and screaming at home because my neighbors are doing fireworks I would probably go over to talk to them. And if they ignore me/laugh in my face I would call the cops. 🤷🏻♀️ Healthy boundaries have to be upheld. Also we have 0 idea what’s going on, no context… it might be a crazy person, it might be a nice lady who got ignored so much she had a breakdown.

I think it’s the natural evolution of social media..where people have become so used to being able to speak without consequence from behind the anonymity of a computer screen that that lack of control has spilled over into their real world interactions. I drive for Uber and Lyft fulltime. Last week, I picked up a guy that bragged about how rich he was the entire ride. Told me about his 2 planes, Tesla, yacht, etc. And then told me how sweet of a girl he thought I was.... He didn't even leave a tip. But the guy I picked up right after him didn't speak a single word to me for our whole hour trip and he tipped me $32

Alberta did have a medical exemption law and it was actually against the law for businesses to refuse service if a person was not wearing a mask. They later rescinded on that and allowed businesses to make up their own rules for their own businesses.

The fireworks one is actually on the 4th of July. Everywhere in America everyone was throwing fireworks. I am an Uber driver and I literally only deliver food now, no more passengers in my car for many reasons.
💯 I gave up passengers after a few months. I gave up eats with Uber too. Grubhub always pays me more.

@@melt4435 You should definitely look into grubhub, if anything just sign up and log on while logged onto Uber eats. That way you can feel it out in your area. I’m in NYC area so it’s pretty busy over here, but that’s what makes Uber eats so worthless. The pay keeps going down and down, and it takes a good 20 minutes to get from pick up to drop off in the same town on a good day. When the restaurant is slow, and the drop off is across two you can’t get two jobs done in under an hour. And after $2.50/$3.00 jobs with teenagers and ignorant grown folks who don’t tip it became completely worthless if not costing me money in the end. I despise Uber. And once they started the point system a couple years ago I knew I was getting to the point of cutting them off. It’s absolutely disgusting and technically illegal to refuse an employee standard support assistance and resources unless they work the number of hours you want them to work. That’s insanity but thanks to the exploitation of independent contractors they found a loophole. It’s so gross all together.

Instacart pays much better than all the food services but requires shopping and usually has a waiting list.
I wouldn’t do the Walmart runs Uber and doordash first started offering them because they never had tips so I’d make crap and the Walmart’s where I live are far and ghetto. Service sucks, you’re stuck in line, it’s just a mess. Not worth it.
But yeah- if I were you, I’d sign up with all services. I still have my Uber eats account and I’ll do a couple jobs a week just to keep my account active because I feel better having it.
I log into all my delivery apps when I work, I take a job as it comes from whichever is going off and if it’s not worth it I ignore it for the next one. It’s much easier for me that way. Way less likely to have bad days where I crap out under $50.
You should look into Instacart though. You’re able to see the size of the orders and you can choose to just take the small orders, I made $45 bucks on one trip with Instacart yesterday, customer ordered milk, eggs, cereal, bread, butter, and laundry detergent. Three bags all together. @@taniele84 I live in San Diego, so I average about $8 a 15 min trip, right now with the tourist its better for me to work evenings and they do tip better. My friend was telling me about insta cart and Im thinking of signing up for that too. I do pretty good, i work about 30-35 hours in a week and make $700-$850 a week which is really good. But like I said now that they took over post mates, its different and not for the better. Here in CA we have prop 22, so every 2 weeks Uber gives us the difference on what we should have made making minimum wage. So depending on what I was able to work due to my pain, Ill get an extra $80-$350 every 2 weeks and that helps. But at my age Im all about working smarter not harder, LOL. I'm gonna be honest, as weird as the first Karen was, she kinda represents my thoughts on fireworks. Each new year there are dozens of killed, missing or hurt dogs as result of them panicking (and Im only taking about my town, there's probably hundreds if not thousands worldwide), tons of wild animals die because they run or fly blindly away from the sound. And all of it just because of people who don't give a shit and feel entitled to have fun at the expense of animals. So that first clip- there was more than one Karen there, the rest of them were the one shooting fireworks
And as I read from other Charlotte-ans here, she has PTSD, having served in active wartime duty. However, as an animal lover, and rescuer myself, there is no love lost for people with illegal fireworks from what they do to animals, as well as people.

@@LpsChampie I get it but all the names you mentioned nothing is used consistently like Karen is. So, all the men with those names still feel comfortable with their name. It’s just not fair that the men are called out a whole lot less and Karen is used everywhere making women with that name feel embarrassed and uncomfortable.
@@Wigslay Those names are used as much as Karen, it's just more common that a women does something like this than a man. And the people who actually do have these names, yes it is a bit weird, that comes with any name that has developed into it's own identity, but it's not directed twords them, this is more a joke in dealing with unfortunate situations as it is a normal response we make as humans.
