I was walking around with my boyfriend at an art convention one time (and at the time I was very self conscious about pda due to my parents being very weird about it) and an older lady stopped us and said "Young lady what are you doing?" And I was bamboozled. She then followed up with "You're making all us old women upset about how damn gorgeous you are! You keep being you cause you're absolutely beautiful." and I've never been so flattered by a stranger. Legit still sticks with me after like 3 years, I think about it everytime my family makes me feel self conscious. Be nice to people, they remember that shit for years🙂👍

That’s so sweet! 🥺 That happened to me once, but instead she was a shop owner. She complimented me on my “stunning afro”, told me I was beautiful and welcomed me to the neighborhood. I never felt so welcome and turns out, most of the people here are actually that freaking nice to me. I had mostly seen people with straight shiny hair as I was moving, so I was nervous about the stares. Turns out that was just my anxiety and humans aren’t actually all bad. Thanks for unlocking that memory, I had totally forgotten. 😂🥰❤️

That's adorable 😍 I like to go to the shop once or twice a week, I can't walk well without my stick, so slowly walk twice a week, I live alone and don't see many people but love people on my estate, so I go in and pay for the person in front 😊 I love the look of shock on their faces, especially if it's a child buying sweets, counting the penny's out, and one day a kid was doing that, a little girl about 7 or 8 very shy, and the server said she didn't have enough, 3 of us ladies in the line all stepped up together and asked how much, but then we all just gave her £1 each, she was buying bread and milk it was obviously for her mum and she bought a 29p chew bar, and was going to return it, so in the end she had an extra £3 she still only took the chew bar, and said ill give my little brothers and sisters this between them so they can buy something next time, honestly it was lovely, you could see she wasn't very well off and she was so humble, I watched her walking out and she just kept looking at the money then back at the shop! Absolutely made my heart swell, so I do this twice weekly now and I love seeing their faces, we have all been there when times are hard! X people are generally Absolutely amazing 👏 🙌
Man...the disability one just hits home😒. For 31 yrs, I've lost count the number of times where I've had to shut people's shit down because of my PHYSICAL disability. I am older now, and have neither the patience nor the crayons to explain it to them.
I was injured my first year of highschool and recently received treatment. for about half a year i worked as a waitress despite my limp (i only recently quit) and would have to explain to my customers when they asked what was wrong. it bothered me but if i dont answer im considered "rude", so when i can i just dont care to answer people who ask anymore. it gets so tiring 😮💨

Few years ago a lady stopped me on the street and commented how I looked. She actually told me that she would not go out wearing shorts if her thighs were this fat. It actually hit me hard, because I always considered my legs too fat compared to the rest of my body and it was my first summer in years to actually wear shorts, you know, trying to actually like my body and all.
Luckily instead of shame I felt anger, so I looked at her and said that I would not go out if my face looked like that. And I decided that I will wear shorts specially in spite of people like that.
Good. Same prob myself. I have to be down to a Size 4 to get my legs to where I am OK wearing shorts and even then, ONLY if there is just no other way. I was a Size 6-8 this summer, and spent 7 weeks of it in Fla, and only wore shorts at the beach. Used maxi dresses otherwise, where sweat would pour down my chest and back already at 7 a.m. Never again. I also DID find out finally that I have vascular issues and possible lymphodema so working on that so that exacerbates the prob but next summer, IDC

I don’t wear shorts. Im not fat. Im not gross. I just can’t stand the air against my skin. I feel naked. When I see big women wearing shorts I’m blown away that they’re ok doing that because I can’t even wear shorts outside to check the mail. 😂😂

Ugh the hidden disability one triggered me soooo badly. I don’t really consider myself disabled, but I had open heart surgery when I was 19 and about 3 months later (when I was still recovering) I had to go to the hospital for a check up. I got on the bus and there weren’t any seats other than the disabled one so I took it because I REALLY needed to sit down - I was winded and breathless and my heart was racing just from the walk to the bus stop. A few stops later a middle aged woman gets on with her mum and stands right next to me. If I had been feeling better, I’d have got up, but I felt like I was about to faint. After a few minutes the middle aged woman starts loudly proclaiming, “Mum, don’t you need to sit down?” Her mum said no. “Yes you do, mum, you’re elderly, you deserve a seat.” Then she stared at me. I just stayed sitting and ignored her, so she started directly addressing me instead of being pass-agg, saying, “You’re young and fit, you shouldn’t be in that seat. My mum needs that seat; you’re so rude.” And on and on, until eventually I snapped and just said, “Lady, not all disabilities are visible. It’s none of your business what’s wrong with me, but I’ll show you just so you shut up.” And I opened my jacket and showed her my scar poking out of the top of my shirt (it runs right the way down the centre of my chest and was still healing at that point so was very visible). She did shut up, and eventually someone else got off the bus and they sat down elsewhere, but I was so pissed off. And I still think about that 13 years later. Grrrr. 🤬
I have to admit, I have done something similar, but, not directed at anyone person in particular. More a row of people at a station in London, the whole row was taken up by suits and my mum, using crutches as it was a pain to travel with her chair, was standing there for over 25 mins and no one would make eye contact. So I stood in front of them all (about 15 of them) and called out loud enough about my mum needing a seat as our train had been delayed. Took 5 mins, but got her a seat. I would never have directed at one person. I'd call out the whole bus. I am now no longer 'able bodied' myself, but still stand as I know in the not to near future I will be forced to sit.
Yeah. I'm not fully disabled, but I have had an injury and now have limits. I had a lady passively-aggressively talk shit on me while I was in the wal-mart disabled stall after my back surgery. When I came out with my cane, I stared at her for a moment, washed my hands and left.
I get angry at the woman (and people like her) reading about your experience - for her this was probably the turning point where she never did that to a hidden disabled person ever again, or at least thought twice about it.
I have vestibular migraines and nobody understands 😕
I stopped catching public transport while pregnant after I had to ride standing up while 7 months pregnant all the way into the city. I was in so much pain by the time I got there I couldn’t walk to the building my meeting was in and just sat in a random street and cried.
Huge props to the wife maintaining her composure while her husband lit that Karen up! I would have been laughing to the point you end up going silent while laughing, lol. The kind that makes tears run down your face, and your abs feel as if you did an intense core workout.

As a disabled person with a disabled wife I applaud the young lady. Disabled people are all ages, all races and all genders and yes some are pretty young ladies. Not all of us are old men who look like their face was on fire and the flames were beaten out with a cricket bat like I do.

Yep, I 'look' young and healthy, but my joints span anywhere from 50-80 years old(literally, fifteen years ago after my first knee surgery, my surgeon told me I have the left knee of a 65 year old. So it's roughly 80 by now). Her like about "disabled people aren't your dancing monkeys", I FELT.
Disability sometimes is not visible to the eye, yet they are there.
PREACH!!!!! 🙌🙌 I'm considered disabled because I had a liver transplant in 2017 at 31 years old. I was given the handicapped thing for my car and when I did need to use it I would get so many mean looks just because I look "young and healthy". I NEVER use the handicapped spots anymore even if I feel like I need to. PRAISE TO HER FOR STANDING UP FOR HERSELF!!!! 👏👏👏👏

The "you're taking drugs" story speaks to me a lot: I have cluster headaches (it's very painful and provocs facial paralysis), so I have to inject sumatriptan in my thigh to stop a crisis. I was in the metro and started to feel bad. A very nice guy saw it and gave me his seat. No choice, I had to raise my skirt a bit to make my injection (it lasts litterally 10 seconds, the time for the liquid to get entirely injected). The lady on the seat in front of me gave me a bad look when I exposed my leg, and an even worse during my injection. After I put my syringe back in my bag, she clearly mumbled: "So now we're in a shooting room. Amazing." My head was aching as hell, and my face was half paralysed, so I could barely speak for the time the medication to do its job. Fortunatelly, I didn't have to speak: the nice guy and some other people did it for me, saying that I was probably diabetic and in need of insuline (a common mistake, but that's ok), and that she should shut up and respect what she doesn't understand. I was so grateful that there were still kind and smart poeple in this world.
@spirals 73 Thank you! I sympathise for you (migraines can be so painfull!) And for me, it was the opposite: before being diagnosed, I had to take beta blockers in pills, but it wasn't working. I finally was diagnosed properly after I fractured my brow ridge during a crisis: it was so painfull I punch my own head with an ice block till I bled. I took that long to be taken seriously. Before that, doctors were like: "Well you know, women and their headaches...classic." Suma in injection are soooo effective: it stops the crisis in a few minutes!
bro this is literally so annoying I’m type one diabetic and this is one of my fears. I hid it a lot as a child for this reason and still idk I’m so sorry that happened to you. Ppl need to Ming their business and let us live our lives
I so hate when people jump to conclusions when someone has to give themselves injections so they can have an actual life and not just die. I have spent over half my life needing to give myself chemo injections and currently have to give myself gravol injections when my nausea and vomiting get too bad for my other meds to help with and occasionally other types of injections too, or using an IV line at times as well. I also find people get weird if you have to check your blood sugar when they are around, I am not diabetic but have hypoglycemia and have to watch my sugars if I am sick or unable to keep anything down or on certain medications. There are sadly so many medical things people have no choice in doing if they want to live but are treated badly for it.
Okay logically what how many times has an addict injected in front of people in public? Usually they do it somewhat privately because you know it’s ILLEGAL! If someone is doing an injection type behavior in public it’s probably just medication because why would they do the illegal thing so publicly? People are so stupid

I used to make my kids little driver's license when they passed my power wheels driving test. I put up cones, made them learn the signals for the road, stay on the right side (we live in the USA), and parallel park. Lol I figured that the reason I almost failed my drivers test was because of my hand signals so might as well start as young as I could to start my kids on a driving path. They thought it was amazing and they were so proud of their "driver's license ".
Definitely doing this with my kids when I'm older. Good plan.

Once I was pulling a friend on her wheelchair, just a walk on the promenade, and a lady kept staring at her. It become so annoying i shouted "YES, SHE'S CONTAGIOUS" and the lady went red and walked away. My friend was literally crying from laughter... Sometimes people are just too much.
I wear leg braces and my favorite reply to rude people saying you don’t look disabled enough to need them is well you don’t look dumb and yet here we are.

I know it’s nowhere near the same and I can never imagine but I remember when I crushed my ankle and had two surgeries I needed to be in a wheelchair for nearly a year as I couldn’t use crutches and my god the amount i got laughed at because I had gained weight due to inactivity and my elderly mum struggling to get me up pavement was soul destroying people forget you’re a human when you’re in a chair it’s ridiculous
I’m a borrow this, as I a couple invisible illnesses and a placard
I died when the blonde lady said "I will throw you in your trunk and then help people look for you". And the Husband yelling at the karen calling her the best insults I've ever heard with the wife in the car laughing and filming. I loved that one too. I also deal with people staring at me because I "don't look disabled enough". You can't see it but I have a chronic pain disorder that effects every joint and muscle in my body as well as muscle weakness, but I'm only 27 and look "normal". I get rude stares from people when I using an electric cart. I can walk but my muscles get tired easily and my legs can collapse on me. I don't want sympathy or pity, I just want understanding. Just because I don't "look" how you think I should for being disabled doesn't mean I'm faking it or lazy.

I’ve also gotten the sour looks for using an electric cart or having to stop. Truly, my issue is 100% my own dumb fault. A few years back, I just… was really stupid, and now I have a weakened heart and borked lungs. And chronic leg and abdominal pain.
One guy tried lecturing me that someone ‘as young and fit’ as me didn’t need the electric shopping cart. I just stare at him, dumbfounded, doubled over and trying to get my heart rate slowed down so I could breathe.
I am also disabled & get a lot of stares and questions too because I “don’t look sick.”
Other comments I hate:
- “You look good so you must feel good.” No, not really. Why would I want to look on the outside how I feel on the inside?! If that were the case, I would just walk around in a trash bag.
-“You are so lucky to be disabled.” Are you kidding me?! I would much rather be out in the world using the degrees I worked my ass off to achieve but unfortunately my body hates me. I was put on disability for very real, very painful reasons. I’m not just chilling & eating bon bons all day.
I have a heart condition that also gives me these horrible head and stomach migraines that are so painful, but I don't "look" disabled and I'm terrified that when I learn to drive people will bombard me with the "young don't look disabled" card
i have same thing plus degenerative disc disease where my back can suddenly give out when i'm walking out of the blue.cant count the number of times i've been picked off the floor by store employees and put in a wheelchair and helped to my vehicle. i don't use the electronic carts but i do use a cane at times and others look fine so i also get looks using handicapped parking when i look "fine". i'm now 57 and nearly 6 ft tall. the chronic pain and fibro that make your muscles weak is the worst because there are times i'm not sure i'm going to make it thru my shopping and back to my car so don't need the looks on top of the constant pain.

@@yourheartsdesire6308 years ago I went to the post office during Christmas, and took my youngest kid. when we got there, there was a line of people, so while we waited my kid walked up to the mail boxes and was looking at them. After we bought some stamps we went back to the car, I put him in his car seat only to notice someone had blocked me in. Thought they needed directions, and actually laughed at the idea of me giving anyone directions (I get lost more times than I can shake a stick at), but figured why not ask, maybe I actually know the directions of where she wants to go to. NOPE!! dumbass boomer wanted to tell me how I should parent my kid (apparently him being 2 feet away from me looking at a stupid mailbox was too far for her). This is Jersey, told the bitch if I needed parenting lessons I'd give her a call, until then she could shove her opinions up her ass. Then I got back in my car, waited for her to move and then left :D
I couldn't help but wonder because of that phrase and the woman's age if she wasn't all there in this case rather then being a Karen.

So Blondie here feels she's not safe with that guy entering his own apartment building, and questions guys apartment. However, when he reverses course and asks her "what apartment do you live in" she freely gives out her apartment number. It wasn't about her feeling unsafe it was about her feeling entitled to question him, PERIOD
Yep. I'm always afraid of strangers knowing too much. There's no way I will tell a guy, which is making me unsafe, were I live. They think they have the right to decide who looks good enough for living there

@@mariannaryan456 Yeah I wouldn't bet she told the truth either. But the fact she gave an answer instead of refusing is telling, too. She cared less about safety, even the safety of the people who do live in that apartment number if it was real, and more about being entitled to control and question someone she thinks doesn't belong. Pretty messed up all around.

If this a real situation , I will have to side with her (blocking door to apartment building) 1) better safe than sorry 2) If he lived there than he should understand why there is a keyed entry to the building and respect her right for safety for the residents. And use his own key to enter. 3) why if you have a key are trying to get someone to let you in..red flag!!!! BIG RED FLAG This is the type of video we would create to teach college students not to just let someone in building. 4) i dont believe its a real situation totally set up
I get the “not letting random someone through a security door you have opened”, the best course of action is let the door close then open it yourself, if they block it then, you have proven you have legitimate access … game on
The realization just hit me that I dealt with my first Karen the other day. I work at a certain convenience store known for having a pharmacy in it. Lady comes in, no mask, no indication that she cares that there’s been a spike in Covid cases and we’ve got hundreds of people coming in to get tested on a regular basis. I approach her to ask if she needs help finding anything since she looked a little lost. Mind you, I’m wearing a mask and sterile gloves (I’m allergic to dust, and some areas of the store are dusty and causes me to break out in a rash, the gloves just protect me from that). She looks at me and says she called and nice gentleman helped her get some cough drops and said he put them behind the register. I was like “oh sure, I can go check for them for you!” But before I went to go get them, she stopped me and asked me to wash my gloves. This was the conversation that ensued:
“Oh, I know you’re wearing gloves and such…but I’m- I’m immuno-compromised.”
“…I’m sorry…what?”
“…sanitize your gloves.”
Then she starts pulling out this crumpled, worn out piece of paper from her bag claiming it’s a note from her doctor detailing how she’s a high risk patient.
I told her “ma’am, I’m wearing sterile gloves…I’m not washing my hands.” And I walked away. She started yelling about how she’s at risk and I need to help her and blah blah. But I couldn’t bring myself to help someone so fucking stupid. If you’re really a high risk person, maybe wear a damn mask??? Maybe don’t come to a store that has multiple people who are possibly Covid positive??? Maybe don’t worry about me and my mask and gloves??? I just left her standing in the middle of the store and let someone else deal with her. I wasn’t about to go *wash my gloves* for someone who isn’t willing to protect themselves simply by wearing a mask. High risk my ass.
The disabled woman story triggered me so bad. The amount of similar stories I've had...
The one that bugs me the most happened back in 2005. I use forearm crutches and afos to walk as I have nerve damage in my feet. I came out of a store with my family and then we went to subway. While we were there, a lady came up to me and said "I saw you coming out of the store. You don't need those crutches to walk." (mind you, I was using them when I came out of the store but maybe I was limping as bad as she'd have liked?! I was so floored, as well as shy at the time, so I didn't say anything. My mom, also floored, spoke up and said "you don't know her story, you have no idea what she's been through."
The lady shrugged and let it go but I have so much regret not snapping at her. Why tf would you ever say that to someone?! Did she think I was faking? I wish I had said "THANK YOU! I GUESS I'M CURED NOW!" 😅

I completely relate with you. The dirty looks I got as a 20 year old using the handicap parking were plentiful. So much I just never renewed my sticker. I have a neuromuscular dystrophy that mainly affects my feet and back. Spent half my childhood in a wheelchair and leg braces. I had a doctor drug test me because I had to get my mom to take me to the ER on mother's day because I couldn't feel my hands from a herniated disc. He had the nerve to say "well back pain is associated with heroin use." My mom was livid. Because apparently a person in their 20s can't have back problems for legitimate reasons 😤 I'm sorry you and many others have had and continue to deal with this.

@@UA-camTeacherRemote Apparently heroin can cause spinal degeneration. But you know what else can? Degenerative disc disease! Which I have literally been diagnosed with prior to that visit. I told them to discharge me asap because I knew I wouldn't get help. They refused a MRI. I paid for one at a private clinic, and boy did I want to march back to that hospital and slam the herniated disc diagnosis right on that doctor's desk. The only smack I'm interested in is smacking that man in the face with cold hard facts. How can I be chasing any dragons when I can't even run? Lmao

6:15 holy crap I feel this. I also don't look disabled and most of my symptoms aren't visible so I run into a lot of people who don't take my brain disorder seriously, including my own dad. Sometimes I dress down on purpose so that I'll fit more into people's idea of what a disabled person looks like

I feel for the disabled lady, I've been there. I had a Karen basically screaming at me because I "didn't look disabled" so I gave her a run down of the 3 autoimmune conditions, various other issues I have and exactly what effect they are having on my broken ass body. Needless to say she didn't believe me because I'm to young to have arthritis (I have rheumatoid arthritis).
She was doing all this while I was in my car in the rheumatology clinic car park. Some people are just to stupid to exist.
I've done that in anger-you feel like ending it with "Oh, but I am nowhere near as disabled as you. At least I have a brain, and a heart". Someone wanted me to move out of a parking spot closest to the entrance to a doc's office when there were available ones two over because I was in a walker not a car.
Logical reason: I was in my walker but waiting over an hour for a Medicab in the cold and it was the only spot in the sun. I still wasn't comfortable waiting inside where I couldn't see the parking lot because I was worried if they took off, without calling me first, I would be SOL. I started using another cab company after that, and the gov agency that runs it said they HAVE to wait ten minutes AND call, and if they take off anyway without doing so, worst case, they will make them send another car immed. Plus enough complaints and they could have all kinds of issues, and they are not just BSing I found out.
I get it all the time. I can walk unassisted on most days and have all the proper identification to use disabled parking and veteran parking. There's always someone who can't mind their business

OMGosh! I emphasize completely with you, Victoria! I have had RA since I was 24 years old and I’m now 66! VERY VERY debilitating disease, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy! Over the many years I’ve gotten the same reaction especially from older folks when I’ve parked in a handicapped space!! I mean, HELLO, I have a handicap placard for a reason! Doctors don’t just dole them out to anybody or everybody! You’re not alone, Victoria don’t let the Karens get to you (I know it’s hard) but you don’t have to justify your health to anyone! I’ll say prayers for you and God Bless you! ❤ 🙏

I was talking to a coworker about my doctor's appointment, and said that I was diagnosed with depression with mood swings. A customer overheard me and was like "all these people now thinking they have depression obviously just need Jesus. Honey, you don't look like you have depression" like what the hell is a person with depression supposed to look like. I'm sorry my being medicated to function productively is not visible to you, am I supposed to be curled up in the fetal position crying all day? Sorry I don't fit your image of someone with depression Karen.

Plus, hey, he invented Wellbutrin and created ppl like my wonderful psychol and psychiatrist! My doctor looked at my depression screening (every appointment I fill one out) and looked troubled. The numbers added up to "depressed" but she said, "You don't present as depressed." Yup, that takes practice.

I take two different meds for anxiety alone and one for depression, although I don’t think I have one just yet but it’s getting there. Tbh, being depressed comes in all shapes and forms so we really can’t tell if someone is or is not. The mind really does wonders.

I've been yelled at so many times for using disabled parking. They see someone who's not a senior citizen, not in a wheelchair or has any visible ailments and just go off on you. you don't know what is going on inside a person's body. If you see the handicap tag, mind your own damned business. Not all ailments are visible! I've even had someone kick my cane out from under me because they thought I was using it as a prop to get better parking!
I don't understand people who even pay that much attention to who is getting out of a car. I hardly ever notice if the cars I see in those spots even have a tag (there are at least three possibilities where I live - temporary hang tag, permanent placard that can be moved between cars, which looks like a license plate and goes on the dash so it can be seen through the windshield, or actual license plates), let alone who is driving/riding in them.
Also the person driving might not be disabled but be picking someone up who is. When I was in college my grandmother moved in with us, and when I was home I would often be the one to drive her to appointments or errands. Every few weeks I would take her to the library and run errands nearby while she looked for books. When I dropped her off, I would just pull up to the curb and wait until she got safely inside, but when I picked her up I had to go in to get her, so I would park in a disabled spot (she had the dashboard placard) and run in. I was always waiting for someone to say something, but no one ever did. (If anyone noticed and stuck around for a minute or two, they would have seen me come back out with an 80-year-old lady with a cane (or a walker, later on).)
If I see someone with a cane...I just, I dunno, assume they need it for some reason? Sure, some people suck and would fake it, but it's not worth assaulting them over.
I’ve seen old people try telling others they can’t sit in the clearly labeled Old/Disabled/pregnant/with young children seats because they’re not 65+ and those seats are 65+ only.
So many seniors like to dictate who can and cannot sit somewhere or use those parks.
We’ve had them be rude to us about LEGALLY using the baby/parents park instead of parking elsewhere so they could have that park, instead of the disabled parks that were like 20ft away

I remember one time, my family was parked in front of a restaurant to grab some food, and the younger ones (we were teenagers) stayed at the car. We were all going to go to the beach and its hot here in Florida so I sat at the drivers seat with the door open because it was my mom's car and I just wanted AC. Well my mom is disabled and has the tag on the windshield so she had parked in the disabled parking in front of the restaurant so she could go in. An old couple driving by stopped the car behind us and asked me (guess she thought I was the driver but none of us could drive at the time) and I said no sorry in a genuine way because I would if I could but that wasn't the case. But then as she was coming in with someone who I assumed to be hr husband, she gave us a very dirty look as she was walking through even though the disability tag was basically swinging in front of my face on the mirror. I felt bad for her but at the same time figured, well I know I look young but I could be disabled and there was no need for the stink eye. In actuality, I COULD get a disability tag as it is available to me then and now if I drove but I dont.

I’m disabled, even when I’m in my wheelchair, I get asked if I’m “really disabled” 🙄 also a type 1 diabetic & had plenty of Karen’s accuse me of inject heroine or something, like aye ok hen, since when did drug dealers put heroine or whatever in handy wee pens?? Pure eejits!! Had a few of them try to get me kicked out of restaurants, but it ends up then getting yeeted 😂 one story that sticks with me is Karen is complaining to the manager, saying I’m encouraging her wean to inject heroine or whatever & if it’s really insulin, I should inject in the bathroom, as it’s disgusting to see me do it. Manager tells Karen, not to look then & mind her business, Karen keeps making a fuss about how I’m gross & im disgusting for being diabetic & how all diabetics are gross & just so much nasty & awful things about type 1 diabetic, manager stops her & slowly lifts her shirt a wee bit to reveal her insulin pump! Karen looks mortified, manager tells her to leave & that she is now banned from the restaurant for her ableist behaviour!

The skit about the "Karen" complaining about an employee shooting up drugs in her car took me back about 30 years to a personal experience. I was working for a Pizza Hut in a small West Texas town. Things were slow for a moment, so I asked for a smoke break. Boss said okay. Back then I had started buying loose tobacco and rolling my own smokes. That was so all the old timers my uncle and I would have coffee with would stop dogging me about my store bought smokes while they were all rolling Bull Duram smokes themselves. It was also much cheaper than buying Camels.
So, I step out, pull out my bag of Bugler and roll a cigarette. Smoke that and head back in. I am on the make table putting pizzas together, and the boss calls me into the back. She immediately apologizes but tells me the customer who complained is a big fish in that little pond, so she has to check. A customer watched me roll my smoke and waited until I was back inside to pick up my "roach", bring it in to the manager and say she will never buy pizza there again if I am not fired immediately. She will never patronize a business that has potheads working for it.
I explain it is just tobacco and the boss asks me to roll a smoke in front of her so she can see. I do just that then suggest we should step out back so I can light it up and that way she can tell from the smell of the smoke it was not pot. Outside she admitted she already knew it was not pot by the smell of the tobacco and that was all she was really wanting to see about, what my tobacco looked and smelled like. That was an "Admit I smoke pot without saying I smoke pot" moment for boss lady. She actually knew the complainer so called her at home to explain it was just tobacco and even let her know the story of how I started rolling my own smokes. Once the woman learned who my uncle was, she had no issues with me rolling my own because she knew my uncle would never tolerate a dope smoker in the family. As if I would be stupid enough to tell my uncle I smoked dope, if I actually did.
I laughed so hard at the Karen who wouldn’t let the guy into his own apartment building, because today I pressed the door button to let in this big dude I see around all the time into my building, he’s like legit huge! And some lady checking her mail was like: why’d you do that? He doesn’t live here!
And I was like: you know that how?
She just said that she sees him go to many floors and thinks he’s selling weed.

I felt that disabled lady SO much. Im also disabled and a lot of my conditions are considered invisible disabilities. I was at the grocery store to which i use a cane to go in and usually the electric karts to make it around when i used to physically shop. With fibromyalgia an narcolepsy it was my safest way to do stuff. Had some random women come up saying "why are you in that you are young an dont need a kart." i was just dumbfounded an just explained i was unable to walk through the store safely. MIND you, there were plenty of other electric karts an she threatened to tell a store person i was using one i just laughed an said ok. They knew me pretty well an i was friends with a chunk of them. nothing else came of it an i rolled off.
I get looks from people when I need to use a cart at the store. All they see is the fat guy in the cart, not the guy with CHF, stage 3 kidney disease and 2 herniated discs.
I have fibromyalgia myself and often get snippy comments, ESPECIALLY cause I’m short and look a lot younger than I actually am. My fibro didn’t emerge until I was in my early twenties and I had a very physically active lifestyle before. It has been really difficult to adjust to not being able to do as much, and to allow myself to take the elevator instead of the stairs or take the bus even if it’s just one stop and people like these make it so much harder.

Before I became disabled and then the pandemic happened, I used to see an employee at my favorite grocery store who had purple hair and several facial piercings.

No one should own a gun who thinks it’s ok to threaten with it or threaten to go get said firearm when your actual life is not in actual danger without any possible way of getting out of said situation. I live in a rural area, and have owned guns most of my life. I would NEVER threaten anyone, and I don't advertise the fact that I have guns. It's better to keep them guessing. Out here, my best protection has always been my dogs anyway. They sense danger before I can get to my firearms, or even realize there's a problem.
We have a neighbor who is an elderly gentleman and veteran. Only those of us who know him well know what an arsenal he owns, and that he's a licenced gunsmith and expert marksman. Most people just see a sweet little 65 year old country guy with a soft Southern drawl who's about 5'6" and 130 pounds soaking wet.
When there's trouble out here with perhaps a resident who's had too much to drink or some mental issue, we call him before calling the sheriff. It takes the sheriff too long to get here. 9 times out of 10, he never draws his weapon as he's got a gentle way of making sense to folks who are just having a real bad day. He's kind of like our local Andy Taylor.
I think all gun owners should have some training, as the Second Amendment states; the right to bear arms also dictates a "well-regulated militia". Somehow, too many people forget that part and think owning guns is a God-given right with absolutely no responsibilities.

As someone who lives in a country where guns are not legal - this is what so confuses me about gun culture in America. What you have said makes TOTAL logical sense but almost doesn't seem to be the "norm". I recently had a conversation with an American man discussing why exactly he thinks guns are needed in the US (beyond like farming and maybe hunting) and he said "well we live in a country with more people so you're more likely to get into fights with your neighbours". I was like... okay and getting into 'fights' with neighbours... means you shoot them? What? I get it's such a big part of American culture but some people really do have such a scary mindset about them.

My dad does the laundry due to my mother's disability (there aren't enough accessible machines). Frequently while doing the laundry, the head maintenance guy of the condo building would sneer at dad for "doing women's work". Dad snapped and told him that since Mom's job is what pays the bills, including the money that goes towards the maintenance man's salary, Dad was happy to help take any stress off Mom's plate (normally my dad wouldn't pull out the 'She pays your salary' card, but we're talking YEARS of this guy saying this to Dad every week). The maintenance man has been sweet as pie and gets my parents whatever they need instantly and it's been about 10 years since Dad clapped back.

I used to have a job driving disabled people to the doctor n unless they told you their story you'd never guess in a million years there was anything wrong with them simply by looking - of course in some cases it was obvious but there were definitely those that weren't
Not all disabilities are visible I'm speaking as a young woman who has suffered endometriosis for about 9 yrs to the naked eye you wouldn't even know if you just saw me on the street

I have a chronic illness that I'm not even going to say here because even some DOCTORS don't believe it's that debilitating. I have regular migraine, seizures on occasion, and vertigo so bad i I can't move. I mean I literally have a hard time going to the rest room. IBS and urinary problems but none of things show up on a handicapped sign and most people think my disorder is just widespread pain. I'm sick of stranger doctors wanting my HIPPA form.

The amount of times I’ve been accused of injecting myself with drugs because I was giving myself insulin is insane.
I had a roomate who was never in the room and I told her I was a type 1 diabetic. She’s was always with her boyfriend. One night she stayed in the room; and I gave myself a shot of insulin. She then reported me to the RA and UPD. Luckily the RA Knew me and was friends with me and cleared up the situation real quick.
I hope the RA gave her a stern talking-to for that blatant ableism.

How dare that little kid drive through the park without having a driver's license. I think Karen needs to call the police and have him arrested. His being only four years old is no excuse! How terrible must her life be for her to take the time to try to have a little kid thrown out of the park for driving a little toy car. I would HIGHLY recommend she get a job or start doing volunteer work of some kind or develop some sort of hobby. She has WAAAAY too much time on her hands.

The nosy neighbour hit for me. A few years ago I was out shoveling snow in front of my flat, minding my business, and an older woman who lived down the street stopped, tutted and told me it was shocking that I was out here doing all the work while my man was just relaxing inside. My partner was inside. Cooking, looking after two sick children under 5 and letting me do a nice menial task to keep me sane while I took 10mins away from the anarchy.
What irritates me most about it is that I try to be a generally nice person and knowing she said it out of a twisted sense of trying to be nice, I couldn't even bring myself to be snappy back at her for it.
Folks really, really need to mind their business, not yours. You just really never know what others are living.

I'm disabled. I agree with the lovely young lady 💯 we are not dancing monkeys. Not all disabilities are the same. And they're not always obvious. We struggle enough as it is without people making us feel worse.

I had a lady say that to me yesterday, where I live (Guernsey 🇬🇬) it is mandatory to where I mask. I work in a shop and after serving a gentleman (who didn’t have a mask) this Karen comes up to me and says “YOU DO REALIZE THAT’S AGAINST THE LAW? To serve someone without a mask? “ and I turned around and said “maybe he had a exaction?” Why can’t people just mind their own business??? 🤦🏼♀️🤷♀️

That anti-masker was the real Karen here. I'm sick of people risking other people's lives because they feel entitled to disregard simple rules put in place to protect others. I live in a small rural community of @ 300 people, most of us are elderly. Since early 2020, we have lost EIGHT members of our community to Covid, yet many still refuse to get vaccinated or wear a mask. One neighbor who died was a dear friend who had immune issues so he avoided public places. However, one of his thoughtless neighbors paid him a deadly visit and brought covid to his home. This A-hole knew he was sick when he visited Andy, but he thought since his own symptoms weren't "that bad" that everyone else would have the same reaction to the virus.
I had to make a difficult decision today about whether or not to go to ER or Urgent Care for treatment. I had a cat bite yesterday, today it's red and swollen and hurts like hell. I called my provider to see if I could get an RX for antibiotic by consulting the online doctor via Zoom. They refused and said I would have to go to our very crowded ER where it's @ a minimum 4 hour wait and I'd likely contract Covid, since most people here refuse to wear masks (very rural and very "red-hat" around here). Although I'm vaccinated, my disabled son is not. He never leaves the house and I take every precaution to avoid getting sick.
I decided not to go to the ER. I have a pretty good immune system, but I also know that cat bites can be very dangerous. I don't understand why they can't prescribe antibiotic, since I've taken it before for the same injury with no problem. They would rather do nothing, or force me to risk almost certain Covid infection that could spread to my son.
I'm treating myself with medication I use on my farm animals when they are injured, since it's worked well for them. Wish me luck.

I can relate to the disabled girl. I too ,fell and broke my back in 2 places. I can walk a short distance without a walker. I love using shopping carts for mobility. I don't look like I'm disabled

I had a temporary disability (2-3 months duration) that left me very weak and unable to walk without supporting myself so I always used a shopping cart. I tried to park next to the cart corral so I could grab one and return it while still having support but occasionally was unable to so. My alternative was to park somewhere that was next to the sidewalk where many people leave carts without returning them. Why? I could return the cart to a corral but could not walk back to my car and had to leave it where I found it. I always made sure it was not going to roll away or take up a parking space. I had one lady get in my face screaming about not returning the cart. I stood there long enough that my legs gave out and I fell at her feet. Her only comment? "Serves you right". BTW, a disability tag wouldn't help because the cart corrals were too far away from the disabled parking spots.
I'm old (70, now), but became disabled the moment I picked up a suitcase and tried to toss it on the bed to unpack it.
Herniated discs in my back, pinching nerves which has led to bilateral leg weakness (permanent).
Nobody has ever said a word to me about it because 1) I'm old, but more importantly 2) my 6'7", 400#, 22-year Navy veteran, tattooed biker helicopter husband would be likely to say something. Well, not 'likely',, but definitely.
I've a chronic pain disorder. I look perfectly fine. Doesnt change the fact that sometimes I feel like every bone in my body is shattered. That I can throw up or pass out from the pain. But no, I LOOK fine, so I must be making it up. Idiots.
My mom (she passed in 2011. This happened 2008) had arthritis in her knees and hips so would use the carts/trollies to lean on, she used a disable toilet so she could still use the trolley/cart still and reduce pain. These two old bags ( old bags because they were so rude) go Oh I didn’t know we could use those toilets if we feel like it and don’t have a reason why we need to.
I can relate to the driver in the last clip. My daughter is a massage therapist, and her husband and I would take her to her in-home appointments, just for safety reasons. We parked on the side of the street across from the house she was in because it was July in Florida, and the only shade was on that side. Now mind you, we had been parking there for months. No problems. A lady comes out of the house we were parked beside ON THE STREET, acrossed the sidewalk from her house. She started to yell at us to move because "her husband thought we were casing their houe, and he was getting scared." We looked at her like she'd lost her mind. I told her we'd been parking htere for months, and it was a public road. We weren't on her property and had no wish to case out their house. She kept insisting. So, I started the car, backed up to the corner, and parked across the street, in the shade. In front of their house. Never heard another word.
What is amazing is how often ppl should actually mind their own business but decide to stick their nose in and when actual violence is happening and yet no one seems to notice (minding their own business) when their help would actually be needed

Re the Karen commenting on the wife mowing the lawn:
I was mowing my front yard when my neighbor stopped me. She pointed at my t-shirt and told me it was disrespectful. It said “MY NEXT HUSBAND WILL BE NORMAL.” She went on about modern wives not honoring their husbands etc. When she stopped I told her to ring my doorbell and tell that to my hubby, who gave me the shirt. 😏

I once went to our version of home depot to buy paint for my lounge room walls, my husband hates painting and does a terrible job so I do most of the handy work around the house....including the painting, an elderly man walked past me an loudly exclaimed "you pick it , we'll paint it!" as he continued past me. He left me there fuming while I weighed up if it was worth chasing him down and telling him that he was a misogynistic tool. Mind your own business and don't make assumptions about other people!

The one got me about the disabled girl that doesn’t look disabled. I have EDS and look “normal” but sometimes I have to use the wheelchair other days I can get away with not using it but people HATE that I am capable of walking but still require the wheelchair. They can’t fathom it for some reason how I don’t need it 100% of the time… lol mind ya business.
Yeah, and I bet YOU hate that you are forced to use the wheelchair sometimes. Me too-I hate that sometimes I have to use the walker, cane or nothing, except just leaning on the shopping cart for support (and using the cane to get from the car to the carts). It depends on the day, how much I have done in the day, time, surgical/recover issues, etc. as you well know.

Why are we defending anti-maskers? I was bed-ridden with covid for 3 months, a friend of mine had to have his leg amputated from oxygen loss, and a friend of my parents died. Everyone who refused to mask up is a murderer. And that’s on period.
We had a landlord once who drove by our place every day, then called and harassed us about cleaning the driveway of leaves and such. He also peeped in our windows when we were gone, reported to us by our neighbors. Then he stopped by unannounced once while I was mowing. He scolded my husband for not doing the "man's work" and questioned him about our marital roles. I put up notes in the windows so he'd see them next time he peeped. Then I wrote him a long letter to follow up, mentioning in particular that he seems to have a personal issue with us, and needs to stop peeping in our windows or we'd take legal action. He hired a property management company and we didn't have to deal with him after that.
Imagine if that much effort was used to combat racism, sexism, homophobia, agism, religious persecution, animal abuse, etc. This world would be such a better place!

There are in fact metal detecting laws here in Germany! And that's because people tend to robb archaeological sites and literally steal history from everyone. The "excavated" (carelessly dug up) objects get destroyed and get taken out of their context.😤 It's pure horror for archaeologists (I am a student of archaeology)! You need a special licence (costs around 100 bucks where I live) and then you are allowed to survey certain areas and track your finds with GPS. 😁

The problem with pointing out Karens is that sometimes, the Karen might be right. I always feel a bit conflicted about the "mind your own business", is that a lot of peoples "business" includes beeing a..holes themselfs. Example: in subway i regularly see people with children who allow the children to climb onto the seats and stand on them with their shoes on. Making the seats dirty for everyone who is going to sit there later. You could also say, why mention it, mind you own business, but I think if no one says something, they will go on like that. If no one stands up for what they believe in or for simple basic manners, we will get chaos. Does protesting against something or someone whom does something you consider wrong make you a Karen?

The specific example in this video was the disabled girl parking. I see people parking on those who are clearly not disabled every day, taking these places away from those who need it. Years ago, my ex-husband was at work and since I was off, I told him I would mow our yard. Shortly after starting, my neighbor came over. At first, I thought he was going to complain about my outfit, I was wearing a crop top and short shorts. Well...he asked if I had stolen his lawn mower. He explained that, the last person who lived in my house, had stolen it before. He points to his shed and asked if I took it from there...I look over and said "you mean the lawn mower that is in full view?"...he turns red and runs back home. I guess he told his wife, because she came over to apologize, and he fixed my electricity after a guy messed up while installing a washer 🤦♀️
Even though he sent his wife to apologize, at least he redeemed himself somewhat by fixing your electricity! Maybe he learned a good lesson about spewing off his mouth too! 😂

I’m conflicted about this. There have been incidents before of violent ex boyfriends or husbands gaining access to their ex’s building and committing violence. Their have also been stalking incidents where people “minding their own business “ have let the stalkers into the building. As a women I would definitely feel cautious about who comes in the building.

I actually agree with the "Karen" who apparently commented on the lady not wearing a mask. Stuff like haircuts, visible nipples etc. definitely is something where people should mind their own business but when someone's behavior literally puts other people's health at risk it's a situation that we *should* get involved in. Your freedom to do and wear whatever you want stops when it infringes on other people's freedom to live!
Asking someone to put on a mask, ok, I buy that. But asking about someone's vaccination status was over the line. That is medical information and people don't need to know if someone is vaccinated just like people don't need to know your birth control plan or if you take medication everyday. It's rude.

Asking about vaccination status and generally medical info is definitely out of line. And AFAIK most places make you wear masks whether you're vaccinated or not so it wasn't even relevant to the situation.

Because in Germany that's almost every places right now and therefore most people feel entitled to ask people whether they're vaccinated or not, because we have to show it all the time anyway. I still think it's none of the person's business when there's no law saying you have to be vaccinated to access a place, but I was thinking if there's rules like this in the US too, then it might just feel normal to people to ask about a vaccination status.
@@rizerez7982 Well in quite a few places in the US it's all optional, places can't even make you wear a mask anymore at this point, they can just "suggest" you wear one since they don't know who's vaccinated and who's not. There are some states with more strict laws but, as far as I know, they're in the minority.

I’ve been seeing a lot of the disabled parking space videos online lately so let me just say this. If someone has a disabled tag in their car, you have NO RIGHT to ask them if they’re really disabled or what their disability is.That’s it.
In the U.S., that is also the law (federal and NY State, and most states tend to mirror fed law pretty much on rights for the disabled). You can't even go up to a person with a service animal (not an ESA*, that is a difft category) and ask what that person's handicap is. You can, if you have the right to ask, let us say, own the restaurant, etc. , ask: "What is that dog trained to do". So, if someone who normally does have a right to ask, like a restaurant owner, landlord, etc. asks you or someone you know who has a SA "what is wrong with you" or "What is your disab" , that is not permitted. Spread the word-disab folks, esp those with animals, need all the protection they can get.
*from Animal Law Atty: AN ESA is Emotional Support Animal. There are three categories of these: Service Animals ("SA"). ESAs and pets. An SA has been trained to perform a specific task like sense seizures, seeing eye dog, pull wheelchair, etc. An ESA provides emotional support and is "needed for use and enjoyment of the property" (the exact words you need a psychol to write.). You don't need a license for any of these and that stuff like licenses, harnesses, etc. on-line is all bs except to help shut up people who DON'T KNOW THE LAW BUT they can provide some level of peace. to ppl who have the animals (but of course, ppl abuse this). However, you need those magic words "use and enjoyment" in something from a psychol or psych. to make it legal. Thus, with landlords, hotels and anything else covered under the FHA, they can't charge you a pet deposit, extra fees etc. as long as you have that letter from psych.
ESAs are no longer covered by the Americans With Disabilities Act but ARE covered under the Fair Housing Act, because of abuse, and were removed from the ADA circa 2013. However, most states passed their own disab laws (states can pass their own laws as long as they provide equal, or greater, protection for the protected class) that were like the OLD ADA and thus ESAs are still in the laws of many states, NY incl. , and locality (Suffolk County, Long Island, NY).
When I was in the respiratory ward in hospital so many older patients seemed to find it fascinating to see a younger person, I’m 25, in a more critical condition than themselves… then proceeded to stand near my bed to stare at me trying to get a conversation on what’s wrong with me… none of your fucking business is what’s wrong 🙃

They weren't concerned for you or thinking they could help or ease your suffering by offering advice or even just an ear to listen. I have found these things are usually comforts to older ppl who are usually alone. I'm sure "fuck off, none of your business" instead of closing your door/curtain or asking nurses to keep ppl away helped ease their own pain but who cares right? It's about you and that's what matters.

I had a neighbor once (he's still a neighbor, good for me) report me to the HOA for having my dogs on a leash. He was worried I would unleash then at some time in the future and wanted the HOA to fine me beforehand. Mind you, he has three collies who run the neighborhood without a leash. My dogs are never off leash, they are pits and people freak out with them on leashes. My HOA president (who knows me and my goofy dogs very well) told him to go jump head first into a shallow creek. This neighbor reports everyone for anything. I've been reported for unloading my Jeep at night, I went grocery shopping at night and then had to unload my car. Apparently that's drug dealer stuff.. I've been reported for not getting my mail as soon as it was dropped... my son was in the hospital at the time and I wasn't home. I've been reported for not being home.. that was a fun one. And every time he does a false report, he's fined $150... so you would think that would deter him, nope. I guess moneybags likes keeping our neighborhood nice and clean and well maintained, since that's what dues and fines pay for.
