Beautiful cake Mary! I love the look of the geometric fondant mold and painting it gold really pops and makes this work with the gold spheres and the Christmas Red bottom tier. Question..if you had tk deliver this cake with more chocolate spheres going up the side of the cake tiers, would you use Royal icing instead of the piping gel? I really love the ripped effect on the side of the cake which makes it look like a present! Is there anyway the buttercream can be used to make effects like these? Also, love your gold spheres, and I really want to use chocolate compound instead of the isomalt, and I plan to put some caramel inside the spheres. Don’t know if it all will work Lol. Do you think I can use the gold dust technique on the chocolate spheres?

Those are called dragees and they are edible;)

It does look like Ripped paper doesn't it? I love the idea of filling the chocolate spheres, and yes the gold works perfect on chocolate;)
