How funny, I just finished watching Anna to see this then scrolled and lo and behold there's Mary doing it. So awesome 👍 Love this technique so different but it really makes the cake pretty classy! Good job to you both❣️❣️
This is amazing! My first attempt didn't turn out, but I spread it way too thin, so it disintegrated. After that, I kept them a little thicker and they turned out great! Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you. You make it look easy and fast 😂. Yes, Anna came up with the lovely lace. She is fantastic! It is so lovely for people to share fun skills 👍💐
As I watch you place the wafer paper on the cake it almost feels like I am watching you do an updo! It is so crazy how sometimes our abilities actually cross over into something else. You hands definitely move like a hair stylist!! Even how you place the toothpicks. Reminds me of placing Bobby pins.
I wanted to take that class so bad! I want to support other creators as much as I can, but it just wasn't in the budget:( To be transparent, I battled with the decision to do this video.
This was very interesting thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent as well I've never seen that before pretty cool, since your just learning soon you'll be all perfect too please share as you learn perhaps at some point you'll find your self in a classroom 🤗☮️
Hello Mary, do hope you are well. Your cakes are truly amazing. Please could I ask how much cake mixture do you do. The cakes are a good height. Thanks so much. Take care. Lynn
You’ve done such a great job figuring these edible medium trends. Have you tried figuring out how to make the edible skeleton leaves? I’ve seen Ekats use them in a lot of her designs. :)
WOW, 😳This is brilliant. I've never seen anything like this before. I recently started developing an interest in baking cake and I stumbled on this video. Mary, do you do training or classes for this? I am interested.
The cake is amazing. I love the colors. With the crinkled paper designed like that it looks like a big beautiful feather. Just wondering can you taste the shortening you put on the cake to make the fondant stick? Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜
Thanks Lorraine;) There is just a very thin layer of shortening and it gets absorbed into the fondant, which already has shortening in it. So no, you do t taste it.
OMGOSH, this was frickin awesome! Where you come up with these fantastic ideas is incredible (I know you said you someone else gets credit for this, but you nailed it) I love designing outside the box!
Thank you so much! 💓 I get inspired by all kinds of things and by other creators designs too. We all get inspired by others, so we need to give credit where credit is due;)
So eccentric looking definitely different I wonder does it taste good is it all edible?🤷 so many different things you could do with cakes nowadays it's mind-blowing🤔😋
I tried doing this but it did not come out in one piece, it just crumbled into tiny pieces. I tried spreading it thicker in the pan. I tried waiting longer and dumping it out of the pan. Nothing seemed to work. Any suggestions?
I had to experiment for a while too. I would say go thinner actually. That is what helped me:) And cook just long enough to be able to peel it off the pan without it sticking too much. THe brittleness is usually from leaving it on the heat too long. Hope this helps!
Probably because I didn't know how either;) I wanted to take that course so bad, but didn't want to pay for it and thought I could figure it out. I could not:( But thank fully Anna did!
Thank you Mary!

New to this technique.. can these be made ahead and stored and how.. thank you.. this tutorial is AWESOME 😮😮😮❤❤
I'm doing the edible medium class with Ekats. Anna did an amazing job and so generously shared it.
I wanted to take that class so bad! I want to support other creators as much as I can, but it just wasn't in the budget:( To be transparent, I battled with the decision to do this video.
@@sophisticakesbymary I applaud you. Definitely helping other creatives out there
You are absolutely amazing
YES! I follow both of them. But you do just as well. It’s so good to share. Anna does it on her youtube channel. She’s awesome too!

Изумительно! Обожаю Ваш декор. Но сама с фондантом не работаю. Спасибо, удачи!!!
U are simply amazing 🔥
Amazing
maravilhoso 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for sharing! What did you spray on wafer paper
You make it look effortless but I know it’s so hard to get such stunning effect on cakes 😻thank you
Can you refrigerate the finished cake with the crinoline on it?
You’ve done such a great job figuring these edible medium trends. Have you tried figuring out how to make the edible skeleton leaves? I’ve seen Ekats use them in a lot of her designs. :)
YES!! I haven't figured out a fast way to do it, but I have definitely looked into it;)
Looks so elegant 💙
WOW, 😳This is brilliant. I've never seen anything like this before.
I recently started developing an interest in baking cake and I stumbled on this video.
Mary, do you do training or classes for this? I am interested.
Well thank you! I do not do in person classes as of now because I don't have a space for it. I would like to maybe in the future;)
Sorry at 10:18 what did u spray on wafer paper?

Can I use rice paper instead of wafer paper?
Unfortunately you wouldn't get the same result:(
Can I put Crinolines on whipped cream , cake?
I don't use it because I need a stable buttercream, but I think it may melt?
So eccentric looking definitely different I wonder does it taste good is it all edible?🤷 so many different things you could do with cakes nowadays it's mind-blowing🤔😋
I would say it doesn't really have any flavor. Typically people will probably just take it off while serving;)
@@sophisticakesbymary gotcha thanks !!!🙋😍

@@sophisticakesbymary Thank you! I will try again!
Mary, for what thickness of wafer paper?0,4mm?
Usually 0 grade
How much time this cake can be stay outside the fridge?
Oh probably up to 4 hours in a cool dry place.
Fala um pouco em português 👏👏👍👍
Awesome job. Can this go in the fridge?
Yes as long as it is not a humid fridge;)
@@sophisticakesbymary Anna actually showed it stored in zip lock bag between parchment paper
Yes you are right;) That's how I stored it too until I used it and then after I put it on the cake, I stored it in the fridge.
Wow, that looks like seafoam on a cake!
Is ir wafer's paper???
It is made with wafer paper;)
Me encantaría poder traducir lo en español
Yo también, intenté pero imposible
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ou faz um vídeo em português 👍😍🤩😍🤩😍🤩❤️❤️❤️
How long do you have to let it set
Do you mean after the crinoline is added?
Hola! Me encanta tu trabajo, pero no entiendo tu idioma. Sos una genia
sister, may I know what you melt is wafer paper?
I am sorry, I am not sure what you are asking?;) I would love to answer you though!
@@sophisticakesbymary translation is wrong sometimes 😒
Вы потом палочки убираете из торта из декора ,или оставляете?
Why didn't I watch your video before paying for the course with Ekats? 🤣
Probably because I didn't know how either;) I wanted to take that course so bad, but didn't want to pay for it and thought I could figure it out. I could not:( But thank fully Anna did!
