    Can this unit support Captive Portals from public WIFI say I am at a Disney Park and I want to connect this unit to their WIFI to extend service to my devices Disney requires an acknowledgement on their Captive Portal before granting data to the outside world. Thank you great overview keep up the great work!

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  Рік тому

      Yes! The trick is to turn off all other sources (disabled) except for the wifi as wan option. Connect to the wifi, the popup will come up, you can review the terms, then agree. Once connected, you can then move cellular or anything else back up into priority one.

    Very informative. Is PrimeCare transferrable?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  2 роки тому

      Primecare is locked to the device it is added to and cannot be transferred. Thanks for the great question!

    great overview. I have one question. can we connect BR1 pro 5G to our Datacenter Cisco router using GRE tunnel without using second Peplink device (load balancer)?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  Рік тому

      We aren't experts in cisco GRE but if the cisco you have has multiple wan inputs the peplink can be put in ip passthrough mode and hand the wan ip directly to the cisco. Alternatively, if the cisco only has one wan source you could put the peplink between the existing wired wan source and the cisco and then enable drop-in mode on the peplink which will let the unit failover to cellular if the primary link fails. If your looking for advanced multi-wan functionality consider replacing the cisco with peplinks.

    Would it be worthwhile if I have the Max Transit Duo to the Pro? I use T-Mobile and AT&T but change Sim Cards around depending on my location. I have this on my sailboat which frequents all over the Caribbean. I was listening to your excellent vlog but still not sure if it is necessary for my applications.

      Band 71 would make a big difference for T-Mobile, wont matter too much for verizon or att. If i were adding to the duo id consider adding a br1 pro 5g to wan port for a 3rd modem and then utilizing speedfusion bonding to improve connections across 3 carriers. The only other reason to move from duo to pro would be for tmobile specific use or to add starlink later via the wan port and take advantage of the faster router throughput with speedfusion bonding combining wan port and cellular modems for a single more resilient, reliable connection. Great video..Question: Why would one buy this model vs the new PepWave Max BRI Pro 5G Router? They seem the same so not sure when one is more appropriate.

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  2 роки тому

      The BR1 Pro Is a great option but it is a single modem. This Transit Pro Dual modem has two modems in. So you can run two sim cards at the same time where the BR1 Pro can only run one at the same time.

    • @CaptainJohn1972
      @CaptainJohn1972 2 роки тому

      @@MobileMustHave OK. If both are 5G then it seems the Transit Pro Dual is the best option as I see no downsides compared to the BR1 Pro. Correct?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  2 роки тому +3

      @@CaptainJohn1972 this is an LTE dual modem device not a 5G device. We discuss the difference and trade-offs at around the 13:50 mark explaining the differences and also the costs of a dual 5G like the mbx mini ($7,000.00) so this is definitely the best value right now for dual modem support and you could technically add a 5G router down the road via the wan port. That is covered in the section on “router throughput” - Great question!

    I don't understand why there are 4 Sim slots for two modems?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  2 роки тому +1

      So that you can switch between sims on a single modem for added redundancy and for certain customers that wish to have multiple data plans on the same modem for added GB capacity (for example two 100gb plans can give you 200gb on a single modem) . The router can also auto failover if cellular connection is lost on a modem for added redundancy. Great question!

    Just looking to use this, not necessarily in an RV, possibly in hotel stays or anywhere on the road. Do I need the all the items you mentioned?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  2 роки тому

      Hi David, for portable use you probably would just need the router as it comes with small paddle antennas and an AC adapter. Roof antennas etc would not be required. If you wanted a bit more cellular signal you can look at a window mounted antenna option that would work in a hotel. The Parsec Falcon is a good choice. note one antenna is required for each cellular modem on the transit pro if you want to use both at the same time. mobilemusthave.com/products/parsec-falcon-2x2-mimo-lte-lightweight-antenna?_pos=1&_sid=459c89d34&_ss=r You will still also need a cellular data plan, possibly two depending on if you want to use both cellular modems at the same time. If you have more questions a team member can help you on chat as well to talk through options.

    if my sim download data speed is 45Mbps inside my room. how much would it increase to with this device?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  Рік тому

      it is hard to say. I dont know how you are testing to get 45mbps. the device you have impacts this as well as the data plan you have and carrier. All of those can greatly impact what a speed test shows. Peplink devices are designed for stability and reliability. The speed test might be the same, it might not, but the real need is a stable connection.

      This is a dual modem device so both modems can run at the same time, and each modem has two sim slots for failover.

    Does this work in Canada?

    • @MobileMustHave
      @MobileMustHave  2 роки тому

      Yes, it will. We recommend reviewing the specifications doc found on the documentation tab on the product listing page. (Link in description) You then can compare the cell bands it supports to the cell bands your Canadian carrier uses. Thanks!
