We love her. I have had all of my staff watch her videos so they have more knowledge and insight into their personal beauty. Presentation is a key feature in the professional world especially for women. We all absolutely love her. ❤
You make the best videos. Over the years I’ve really enjoyed watching them. I cannot express to you how encouraging and empowering it is to hear that each person should respect their natural beauty and enhance it. You made a statement once that has stayed with me-“don’t DISRESPECT your hooded eyes!” I always HATED them, but I realize now they harmonize with my whole look. I also stopped coloring my hair. (I look at pictures from years ago and 🤷♀️WHAT WAS I THINKING?) I really appreciate your work, from your music to your styling/fashion sense. It’s freeing to be who I truly am. I thank you for everything! 🩷
You did a great job And I get it and especially being 74 I have to pay attention.I have a At least one piece from each of those periods that I still use well minus the 80s. I hated the 80s. Being petite most of those styles just didn't work on me.
@@AlyArt Seriously. Your study, time and expertise is impressive and valuable-I speak for many of us when I say your approach significantly improves other women’s lives-of all ages. You’re so busy with your music, you HAVE to be running 100 mph ALL the time! Make time for yourself, too! Know that you’re loved and admired by so many on this side of the screen! ♥️🌹
I think when it comes to dressing vintage, particularly with 40s and 50s, it looks like a costume if you're copying what the models were wearing in photoshoots (i.e. wearing heavy makeup and styling with lots of accessories such as a hat, gloves, necklaces, bracelets, glasses, etc). But if you look at photos of average people from the time they don't usually have all of those elements at once and they tend to wear more natural makeup, so I find copying them tends to look more natural (e.g. Karolina Zebrowska's style)
So true. I don't like outfits that look like a costume. That doesn't only apply to "retro" looks. But even trending looks like Kim K (long sleek hair, perfect thick makeup, tight clothes) makes everyone look the same and it looks cartoonish. I also love Karolina's channel! Mainly for her insights about fashion norms in different eras. Would love to see a collaboration video with her and Ally. ❤
Aly's observation of make-up trends in recognizing with such in-depth observation is like science to me. Like when she mentioned having such a strong light on your face while filming can give you that round moon face effect on camera. That to me explained years of women putting on dark heavy amounts of bronzer and contour while filming only to have an end result of looking like a 5th-grade stage makeup tutorial
How incredibly impressive that your primary objective in having your channel is to provide information and train women to see their own beauty. What a amazing commitment and unique perspective you have. Simply brilliant. Thank you for who you are, Aly Art!
I love how you Aly encourage women to celebrate their individual beauty, not trying to push trends or sell a certain look that everyone should aim for. Personally I wouldn't want to look like eveybody else following the same trends. It's so sad nowadays with plastic surgery becoming so popular most of the girls following these beauty ideals are starting to look more and more like the same person. I love channels like yours saying we don't have to play by the same rules of beauty influencers/industry who most of the time wants us to feel insecure in order to keep selling us stuff. Thank you and keep doing what you're doing ❤
I really appreciate the shift towards bespoke, “natural face shaped” beauty tips. I think the more we move away from fast trends that only suit a certain looking person, the more the beauty industry can increase in quality and the more beautiful women will feel in their own skin. 💜
Love your videos! My mama has had the same makeup routine since she was 13 haha. She would dress like Madonna in the 80's and she has continued with it till now. I once begged her to let me try more modern style of makeup on her and WOW she looked unbelievably gorgeous. Even my dad couldn't stop staring at her. But she loves her 80s style of makeup 😂♥
I remember some years back trying yo think about what "tacky" or dowdy looks were, and at that point I realized that to me, it usually means wearing something that doesn't suit you. An individual item can look dowdy or trashy on one person, but absolutely stunning on another. You just put this so eloquently, tactfully and in such a detailed way. I love it. Kind of want to show this to my mother as we have gotten into so many fights over my hair. She doesn't realize we do chunky waves now (or the crunchy curls of the 00s thinks the 1980s fluff is the only way for hair to look good.
Aly, you look absolutely lovely with this waved flowing blonde do, with soft compllimentary makeup. The whole look is like old Hollywood elegance with a touch of modern glam. You shine!
Aly, I so love these videos of yours. I turned 40 recently and THIS is the type of beauty, sophistication and style I admire at this season of life. I loved this video! Fascinating look back at fashions. As you mentioned, in certain eras, certain looks were fashionable- hair, clothing, makeup…, the worry for me is that surgeries and fillers to look fashionable, are not so easy to change when they are no longer “in”.

Aly I LOVE hearing your honest opinions about beauty, fashion and make-up. Please keep going, I believe you are such a unique video creator. You have your own ways of expressing yourself, besides you are such an intelligent woman with a strong sense! Always a big fan of yours.. looking forward to watch upcoming videos
Your hair is goals, i remember you said years ago balayage is more damaging than full blonde and I am learning the hard way it is! You are one of the only ones that keep full blonde looking classy, healthy, shiny and beautiful, I'm going back
You described it perfectly and confirmed to me that it's all about mix&match. I've always done that and I thought I was doing the right thing because that's what my mother did, but then people started recognizing bits in my outfit from different decades/influences and somehow still put me in one category. I still had confidence in my style that was never "trendy" per se, but a mixture of all the things I like. I was wondering if I'm doing it right but yours and Ellie Jean's videos confirmed it so I'm glad we align, as you said, nowadays everybody looks around and is combining all the pieces from around the world, as we travel a lot more and see a lot more. Maybe that's why this nostalgia trend is so popular right now, everybody is mixing everything!! And I love it, I am more of a vintage girl so that's my excuse to finally be trendy :)) I had the chance to experiment with '60s inspired trends and I found out it really suits me, I received more compliments than usual and even the hairdresser suggested sth similar.
This was a fantastic video. I always had a feeling they the main components of looking polished where hair, skin, and brows. I’m 60. My hair is thinning as well as my brows, so I invested in several human hair wigs by the brand Follea. I do my brows and put my wig in. The hair quality is beautiful. I only need a velvet hair band to secure it. I wear monochromatic. If I have time, I’ll use under eye concealer and a pretty lip gloss. 🎉😂❤
Fantastic video! You are so incredibly informative and knowledgeable in every aspect of makeup, beauty and fashion. I learn so much from you! You are so right about how we unconsciously don’t let go of past decades, with different styles. I’m totally mesmerized by your videos!
So true ❤I love playing with colours and I had a couple makeup classes in uni and I would say the “wilder” the colours the more time you need to invest. Your base needes to be as close to perfect as possible and liner and mascara/lashes is a must to pull a cobalt blue eye look off 💙 other than the browns and beiges I would suggest all the metals depending on your eye colour. Silver for gray & blue eyes, light and rose gold for hazel and green eyes, antique gold and bronze for brown eyes. Not saying anyone can’t wear a certain colour but for an easy evening look this is a more or less fail proof pairing. Put a neutral colour close to your skin tone in the crease and blend well. I personally would put a small amount of the metallic shade on my lower lash line but it’s up to your taste. Finish with mascara (black or brown), eyeliner or lashes if you want to. ❤
I'd be interested if you made a video on red lipstick! I want to wear red but have such a hard time with it. (I have a pale, yellow cast skin tone with blueish green veins and yellowing teeth 😅).
the Gothic look is not for everyone, I do love it most of all (as long as you do not copy the panda look). I do not wear make up often (only when I have something special) and will always wear the dark red lips and dramatic eyeliner (it can almost go over the top). But then as a real Goth it is what I am going for, it does not suit all and you need to dare wearing it indeed!
This video came out right when I needed it thank you! I’m on my period and been eating very salty foods so I feel kinda bloated and critical of myself tbh this is making me feel better
Aly you are awesome. This content is excellent! Thank you for what you do. (I wanted to mention that I do my makeup the way you made up your beautiful mother. "no plastic mama". 🙂)
So many great insights here, Aly. Love your hair these days. Forgive me, but maybe update your lip colour a bit? You would look lovely with a soft pink or coral and a bit of gloss. You are gorgeous and so knowledgable.
Did you watch the video? Wasn't her video exactly about embracing your own style and accentuate how you please yourself. You said it yourself, she is very knowledgeable in make up, so she surely knows what's trending, but decided against it
Her lips look okay a bit flat and the liner is a little noticable I'm not a fan of lined lips either I also feel it's a dated look but that's me this look like a mattified lipstick and it might be the lighting but the COLOR is neutral and one of the colors I use but I like moisture lipsticks not matte and not shiny and definitely NO glitter ugh 💋💄 I'm just not a fan of too much shimmer and definitely no glitter unless you're putting together a Halloween costume or performing on stage or your into this look like it's your thing but at the end of the day it's definitely not a natural look and GLOSS is so unattractive at times to me it's just WET LIPS it's like your saying look at my LIPS and not my face many news cast gals will wear this and it looks ridiculous like do you see movie stars with their LIPS full of GLOSS when their playing a part in a movie most of the time NO I'm sorry but another dated look and it's unattractive too me when LIPS are overly glossed💋 Listen as we get older these looks like wet lips overly glossy lips, over drawn lips, heavily lined, glitter, shiny, too pink too orange any unatural colors like blues, greens and weird purples or very very dark can AGE US💋💋 But hey if you LOVE the way you look then enjoy and have fun with it LIFE is short 🌈
Looking forward to the next one coming on mature women. Would love to see hair styles for older women. Eg. I'm a 65 year old FN with very thick hair. Leave it long and messy?
Me too, I have really thick hair too which doubles in size with any kind of humidity. I’ve recently discovered Lee Stafford anti humidity spray and it’s excellent. Makes my hair soft. I never see a lot of videos on really thick, heavy hair prone to frizziness.
Thank you so much for posting the Native American woman from Mexico 🇲🇽 at the beginning! Unfortunately, she faced so much racism/colorism in her own country 😢
I totally agree. I admire women that celebrate their uniqueness rather than wanting to look like everyone else!

Aly you are awesome. This content is excellent! Thank you for what you do. (I wanted to mention that I do my makeup the way you made up your beautiful mother. "no plastic mama". 🙂)
Thank you for this great video. And your hair looks fabulous!
Great video. Thank you Aly! How about that red lip video?
Thanks Aly!
Loved this one!
You couldn’t be more on the ball 💗
Thais was such a great video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge x
Another AWESOME video Aly!! 👏🏻💗
As an actress this is life changing advice, thank you aly ❤
So many great insights here, Aly. Love your hair these days. Forgive me, but maybe update your lip colour a bit? You would look lovely with a soft pink or coral and a bit of gloss. You are gorgeous and so knowledgable.
Did you watch the video? Wasn't her video exactly about embracing your own style and accentuate how you please yourself.
You said it yourself, she is very knowledgeable in make up, so she surely knows what's trending, but decided against it
Her lips look okay a bit flat and the liner is a little noticable I'm not a fan of lined lips either I also feel it's a dated look but that's me this look like a mattified lipstick and it might be the lighting but the COLOR is neutral and one of the colors I use but I like moisture lipsticks not matte and not shiny and definitely NO glitter ugh 💋💄
I'm just not a fan of too much shimmer and definitely no glitter unless you're putting together a Halloween costume or performing on stage or your into this look like it's your thing but at the end of the day it's definitely not a natural look and GLOSS is so unattractive at times to me it's just WET LIPS it's like your saying look at my LIPS and not my face many news cast gals will wear this and it looks ridiculous like do you see movie stars with their LIPS full of GLOSS when their playing a part in a movie most of the time NO I'm sorry but another dated look and it's unattractive too me when LIPS are overly glossed💋
Listen as we get older these looks like wet lips overly glossy lips, over drawn lips, heavily lined, glitter, shiny, too pink too orange any unatural colors like blues, greens and weird purples or very very dark can AGE US💋💋
But hey if you LOVE the way you look then enjoy and have fun with it LIFE is short 🌈
Loved this video, I totally agree with every word you said! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for your inclusive content.
It took me so long to learn these things on my own. I wish we had tutorials etc like this back in the aughts. I would have been so stylish 😂
Aly!! Please tell us where you got the zebra print top!! It's so perfect 😍
This was such a great video!!
Would love to see you touch on the Athleisure trend.
Thank you so much for posting the Native American woman from Mexico 🇲🇽 at the beginning! Unfortunately, she faced so much racism/colorism in her own country 😢
You’re looking sooooo beautiful in this video!! The hair and top really suits you
Amazing content. Thank you.
I love your channel so much ❤
Good comments, thank you!
