It feels like a lot of work to embrace being soft classic. If I’m not meticulously groomed, especially my hair, I look very obviously messy. Whereas my sister can go around with uncombed hair and wrinkly clothes and somehow still look stylish.
❤this video for soft classics! As a sc I would always feel untidy when my hair was overly layered and uncontrolled -also too short. Now I stay within shoulder length with a blunt cut and subtle face frame. Natural color is best on me. Less is more as a sc. My favorite inspiration lately is Dianna Agron. She always gets it right as a sc.
As a soft classic I actually really like my hair a little messy and voluminous. When I look at the kibbe advice I always feel like it is geared towards adults, but I like to dress a bit more youthful so I always select the advise that fits into that style!
I dyed my hair a few years back, the color itself was actually nice, but growing it out is a struggle because I can't get my hair back to one overall color😩on another type it might hardly be noticeable, but for us classics uneven haircolor really throws off the look. Anyways thank you Aly as always for your great content!❤
Thanks for giving time to Soft Classic hair! I can see I need to carefully and neatly trim my ends and maybe more of a bob going up a bit in the back, as I've been pushing its capacity trying to get it longer. Neat is more important than long for SCs.
Your series on the Kibbe types is so helpful. I struggled with the concepts for a bit, but one of the ways I discovered my body type was by process of elimination. This latest chapter concerning hairstyles just reaffirms that I’m a Natural, probably leaning toward Soft Natural. I look back on pictures where my hair is very tidy and neat, and I look old. It almost looks like my hair is separate from me-an entity all its own. Fast forward to 2018. Pixie cut. Looked great when longer, and the last thing I did was hit it with hairspray and muss and tousle it. It’s now the color nature gave me, and I’m growing it out. The “mane” works! THANK YOU ALY! Your talent knows NO BOUNDS!
This was really interesting! I was typed as a soft classic, and have tried many hair colours over the years. I have naturally medium brown hair and seem to get the most compliments when it’s lightened to a natural, well blended, slightly warm, dark blonde. My worst seems to be when I go too dark with my hair colour. It looks quite severe, washes me out, and does nothing good for my face. I also have long curls, and try to keep them soft and tidy looking. For special occasions I like to have my hair smoothed into waves and to me that suits me best ❤
I am a soft classic ! I look best with long bob, natural colour. problem is my natural hair texture is wild and wavy. not good. so i smooth it out and feel i look best this way xx
If combed back simple hair is good then simple tidy pixie is equally good because it actually gives the same silhouette and clean line. :) Another thing is that everybody has their unique hair colour and structure and it should be taken into consideration. If natural features are taken into account and styling is kept simple enough, "clean" and understated, SC will look alright with any hair - short, medium or long, straight, curly or wavy.
Love the video, as always! It would be very interesting what you have to say about different enhancements for body types. Like breast implants, lip fillers, lip/brow tattoo and so on. That said, I watched like ALL of your videos and still can't figure out what body type I am hahaha! So I hope that by watching what hairstyles/colour/clothes suit us, I will someday start to rule out body types and finally find the one I am hahaha. PS: Marion was in the movie Midnight In Paris and she played a woman from the 1920's. She looks stunning in that aesthetic!
Thank you for the video Aly!❤ Are there any recommendations for soft classics who have a lot of baby hairs curling around their face (like me)? This always makes the look a bit messy and romantic. It's sometimes difficult to integrate them into a neat look.
Good timing, I was just thinking what to do with my hair. My problem is that I have very curly hair and it tends to look like a mane. I love my curls and wouldn't like to always keep them in a bun (although a bun looks great on me). But gosh it's difficult to have tidy curls!
i'm a curly haired soft classic as well :) I tried the shag-cut and it was a terrible idea. Now I'm trying to grow it out into an overall round shape at medium length that I think suits me best. The thing is that I don't have the patience to style my curly hair into a perfectly round shape every day, so it's usually one day of perfect curls, one day of a half-up do, and buns and braids the rest of the days before I wash it and style it again XD
@@cuentosdelasestrellas haha, it's exactly the same wash cycle routine for me. First day looks great, then a half up and after that it's just buns or similar styling 😅
Same. After getting layers and curtain bangs last year, I'm growing it all out. I've realized that layers look shit on me, it's better even and not so voluminous.
I’m shocking to know that I am a soft classic. I have always been underweight so I thought I was a dramatic type, but I was a bit too short to be a dramatic. And too tall to be a gamine . I always thought I was too average looking, and I tried to wear flamboyant stuff in a way to call the attention to myself, but he only did the opposite effect. I got the most compliments when I wore the simple classic steamed office shirt With no details!!! I have finally put some weight on and see my fleshiness and softness in a close to ideal weight. All my life makes sense now. I see the struggles of other soft classics and is like they’re talking about me. Any messiness About the hair makes me look like I went out of jail. About how My mom tells me to brush my hair all the time. Tiring to have to look, tidy all the time… But at the same time, I love how we can look very elegant very easily, And dress clothes don’t look Like overdressing it looks casual.
I only look good in a pulled back hairstyle if it is softened (with a very minimal poof, not slicked back) and a few face framing pieces pulled out. Try it out?
Aly would you please make a video about how vertical line affects what body type you are. I've been hearing a lot of different things I'm confused. Beautiful videos by the way, very useful! 💕
I grew up when spider man and Bring it On. I would always get you to look like Kirsten Dunst. However, I have a light olive skin tone and can get medium/olive in the summer. I keep going back to soft dramatic, Soft/Flamboyant natural, or maybe soft classics. I'm 5'8 and fleshy, long/leggy, not too leggy my torso is normal. I appear taller usually 5'10.
I am trying to figure out which hairstyles look best on soft classics with type 4a-4c natural hair. Any afro or braid style recommendations would be so appreciated. Thank you ❤
Looks like body types coordinate with colour types. SC might some of soft or light types but not bright vibrant types. My SC light summer, gentle in both style and colour. SCs, what colour types are you?
I’m a soft classic Kibbe body type but I have a natural/ingenue Kitchener face essence (long with irregular features, large eyes and not symmetrical at all) 😮 would you recommend that I follow your hair style recommendations for maybe a soft Natural instead of a soft classic?
Its a shame because I have natural very energetic curly coily hair. To hear that i have to basically perm my hair straight or wear wigs to achieve that ‘sleek’ look its wild… I’ll stick to my natural curls :)
Right! Especially since it was missed in the ladtcseries Aly did on hair for the body types. I appreciate all the work that is put into these videos and all that Aly does. I would really like to see the Soft Natural hair video.
Unfortunately I have extremely wild wavy hair naturally, like a lion…I look like a mess when I don’t do anything with it, recently I discovered a trick, just pull back the front of my hair and clip it with a beautiful bow - suddenly I’m like a princess!
I just found your channel and am still not completely sure of my type, but it seems like classic or soft classic are the best fit. I’m 5’6, generally and hourglass shape but not very curvy. My waist is defined but not very small and I tend to gain weight in my bust and middle and a little less so in my hips. My waist is the most noticeable place of weight gain. Small hands (size 4.5 ring), average and slightly narrow feet (7.5 shoes), arms and legs are proportional to height, fleshy/soft limbs, slightly sloped shoulders with bony ends, soft jawline, soft round cheeks, cheekbones are not prominent, eyes are average/big, nose is average/small, fine mostly straight hair. I’ve always looked best in classic/feminine clothes and with a classic bob. I can’t pull off any “messy” hairstyles or anything sporty and angular. I’m not curvy enough in the hips for sheath dresses either. I tend to do best in a-line/slightly flared dresses.
I must disagree with statement that soft classics cannot dye their hair fiery red/ginger. I had brown hair and looked dull. A year ago I dyed it ginger (over my natural hair) and I have never been happier. I have straight long bob cut and I often use triple waver to style my hair. So I also must diagree that untidy hair is wrong for soft classics. Everyone I meet tells me compliments about my hair. That never happened before. Even people who don't like gingers (for some reason) told me very nice things.
I think for color especially, your personal coloring is more important than body type. Like if you are a spring color type, bright red might actually suit you. Also, check out essences, they play a role too!
It might be the essence, coloring, Kibbe and Kitchener essences can contradict and rule out some recommendations one from another, we're not supposed to follow all rules strictly from every system

So helpful as a soft classic a lot of hair styles overpower me
Yay, my breakfast treat, thank you. 😀🧡 IMO researching Marion Cottiliard is very often the best example for "what not to do as a SC".

Such a fun video concept! I’ve always kept mine long down my back, never dyed. But learning that my wild country girl untamed poof isn’t helping me😆
