Thank you for all of the questions and comments! I was only trying to let my niece know the chicks she found were doing ok, I hadn't realized this could help others. As Michael mentioned, they grew up and became parents, and the female likes to visit me while weeding the garden. Some other tips that might help, if you are waiting for formula online, stage 1 baby food jars will hold you over. I don't recommend relying only on baby food, because the formula has enzymes for crop health. Keeping them warm is a must, but beware of over heating. A crop that hasn't emptied completely after a few hours is a sign of over heating. Also, make sure the crop has emptied before feeding again. I feed every 3-4 hours. If you experience slow crop digestion, you can mix 1 part pedialite, 3 parts water, 1 part powdered formula and only feed a little bit of this mixture to help digestion along ( and adjust heating!) Most important is to not force feed or squirt formula down a tiny doves mouth because they can aspirate/drown easily. Good luck, and please continue to ask any questions you have! Thanks!

I know the Internet can be contradictory and confusing, or lacking any information at all. That is frustrating. Good luck with the turtle dove!

We watched as the doves were making their nest, high in the trees. Last night on our walk, after a strong windy day, I noticed the nest on the ground, and the baby was next to it. That was like 40'.... so we went and got the bird formula, and feeder. Made it through last night and today.... keeping it warm and covered. It looks like these, except his eyes aren't open. Hoping it continues to eat and will be watching for mamma bird :) great video, very helpful.

Art Tech & Entertainment well since you have no pet supply stores, you could order online, or, since doves are seed eaters. I imagine you could make a concoction of mashed seeds softened with water or fruit juice of some kind.
You can make an oat mixture like a watery porridge, and warm up as done here. If you can order woomaroo or other bird feeding formula on line it is handy to have for future bird rescues too. Good luck

A glass dropper might work but I'm not sure. Patience is key. Keep them warm and feed them often. I'm no expert, and I found all the information I needed with a simple Google search

I cannot believe I have two baby doves that just hatch about a month ago they still sound like their babies they are now fledglings and are flying they chased there mom and dad around still to feed but the parents are no longer feeding them how they used to feed them it’s so cute watching them chase them the fledglings now are eating solid foods but occasionally I see them sneaking a meal from their mother and dad which are surrogates I have six doves the mom and dad of the fledglings are now sitting on four eggs I have a new couple that is sitting on 2 eggs all in which I think is infertile but it’s only been two or three days so I’ll wait to see. What am I going to do with all of these doves 🕊

Well. a couple of things. First off, you're a compassionate and caring person, and I wanna thank you !! .If this works for you, fine but I'd be interested in knowing the final outcome. The corn meal is something I would NOT recommend as it has very little nutrients for developing doves, and these guys are very little. As the first Cuban American to ever hand raise a 4 day old Diamond Dove , AND the inventor of the "Zip lock, sandwich plastic bag feeding technique" , I can honestly say there are better techniques at hand, but enough about me. As far as feeding, you can try Kaytee exact baby bird formula, then as they get bigger you can mix in finch seed . If they were smaller, you can try Columbae, hand feeding pigeon crop feeding Milk. Thanks again.
We used the Kaytee formula. The brds were raised and released. They came back to visit multiple times and I imagine their children and grandchildren have also visited

I am working construction at a water treatment plant and the basins were empty all spring so a dove layed her nest in one of them when they filled it with water I came in the morning for work and her nest was gone and the eggs were floating so I scooped them out and took them home and put them in my chicken incubator one hatched yesterday the other I am kind of losing hope on

Chrys Gnt they grew up healthy and we let them go together at a relatives house out of the city, about 20 minutes east from where we are. we think they might have come back to visit a couple times

Wish I would have seen this yesterday. I took a baby to wildlife rehab today. They said they were probably going to have to tube feed it. It was only about two days old, but I kept it alive for 24 hours. I was proud of myself.❤

Jennifer Haughton, yes we used a heating pad under a towel. As babies they can't regulate their temperature. Very important that they stay warm. Also very important to feed every 4 hrs. It's hard to raise baby animals and sometimes it just doesn't work out. Sorry for your loss. Our babies free up healthy and from what we have observed, they have their own family now. ( the female has been back to visit with 2 chicks)

Mixing instructions for formula are on the package. Keep it warm but not hot. Feed small amounts at a time, so they don't inhale any formula. If you dont have formula right away, a rice and fruit baby food will hold you over until you can get some. I hope that helps, good luck!

I think its better if you part the doves so they dont fight to much or just feed them one by one
They are blind at that age so you need to stick his beak in there you need to help him.

Wheat flour + gram powder + soyabean chunks powder + biscuit powder + water
Feed 3 or 4 times in a day. Don't feed at night.

Mixing instructions for formula are on the package. Keep it warm but not hot. Feed small amounts at a time, so they don't inhale any formula. If you dont have formula right away, a rice and fruit baby food will hold you over until you can get some. I hope that helps, good luck!
