Baby dove STUCK on my Balcony (5th Floor)

- Опубліковано 27 чер 2024
- A pair of mourning doves made a nest on my balcony and hatched two baby doves. The dove pair had two eggs and both parents incubated the eggs for about 14 days. I watched them grow up and filmed their journey of overcoming their fears.
Mourning doves are also known as the American mourning dove, the rain dove, and turtle dove. They are one of the most abundant and widespread of all North American birds. Some people believe that when you see mourning doves you will have good luck. When the baby bird leaves its nest, it is called a Mourning Dove fledgling. Fledgling doves may be on the ground for several days before they are able to fly back up into a tree. This is a time when they are very vulnerable. They have to hide in bushes or underbrush during the night and are often caught by prowling cats.

Sometimes we get a private view of wildlife growing up near our home. I'm so glad I was able to share the journey of these little doves with you!! 💙
🕊 Please share this video with your friends if you liked it!! 🐣
Enjoyed this very much! Good story, and I loved Banana's cameo! 🐾🦁
Thank you for this story.
A pair of doves were making a nest near my balcony every single year. Too bad, none of those eggs or babies made it to the adulthood. Watching your video gave me so much happiness, seeing some of them are making it to the adulthood, just incredible. Thank you!
@@darth009976 what happens to babies ?
@@leogircha9625 They generally die to due to an infection which may be the reason their parents abandon them most of the time or they get hunted, I guess.
i love mourning doves. they're so precious...
Such a beautiful story!! I love watching baby birds develop into adults😍🕊

thanks for sharing this! Thus is happening on my 2nd story balcony right now in the space between where it's screened on ledge that I can't access . The babies are doing well & getting bigger & I've been concerned on what's next. Your video is hopeful that my nest will have same results. Feeling so honored that I get to watch this; I feel so protective & talking to them daily.
Thanks for posting 🫶
The video is magical.. its like a cartoon movie of doves and their babies with struggles ,fear , suspense , love and finally Happy Ending 😊
ADORABLE babies, amazing parents and what a wonderful story! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. The fact that you have a dog (a beautiful dog) is quite reassuring, as it will protect the birds from any cats.
Wow they let you get so close how nice. We always have mourning doves in our backyard and they are so cute. Sometimes they have a lot of pink and blue and are really beautiful. Thanks for sharing its beautiful! OMG i wrote this and as i finished i saw the other dove come out. Thats amazing! Im so happy for them so encouraging.

Than you for this reassuring video. I was helping grow two rescue baby doves whose nest came under attack of a cat. One of them flew away today. Hopefully he is safe n sound and happily chirping somewhere. 2nd one is still growing n learning to fly. I just hope I get to see them once both of them flew away. I am so attached

Awww I'm glad to hear it!
So beautiful!! 🥰🥰
Just found one on the ground, in the pouring cold rain. Walking my dog at night, firs left it alone, but then came back and carefully covered it with the towel, then made a comfy cage out of a puppy travel box. Poor birdie still can't fly, but it's trying. I wonder if it can eat seeds yet. Fully feathered but soaking wet. Wing span about 5-7 inches. I have put some seeds into small water dish. Now gonna be looking for feeding methods, then give the little adventurer to bird rescue guy at work on Monday. Wish me luck, this thing is so cute.
I often notice these morning doves around me ever so often at times I feel like they are my aunts presence (she passed away this year unfortunately) I hope you continue feed them just an FYI the parents might come back to your balcony and start a new batch of eggs and raise young there again morning doves tend to return to where they nested previously
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤗🤍 TENGO UN RECUERDO HERMOSO CON ESTÁS PALOMAS 🤩

Doves and Pidgeons are my favorite birds. I love them so much.
They are such awesome birds
Thank your for sharing your video!! We had a dove lay a nest on our outside plant shelf in the front of our entryway and I have been keeping an eye on them and noticed they finally left the nest, been looking for the second baby all day. But seeing your video gives me comfort in the fact that it may be hiding ❤
Aww....I love this you love them toooo
Love this! Thank you for sharing even though you made me cry lol
You knocked this one out of the park. Excellent video.

Wow this is so well made
What a great video!
ONE OF BEST VIDEOS ON UA-cam !
Awww thank you so much!!!
I have a pair that nest in our back patio 3 - 4 times per year. This has happened for three years so far. We have seen about 20 of these doves go from egg to adult so far. One time we tried to rescue one that the parents rejected. It turned our it was sick with the avian pox. They are very smart! We ended up taking it to a rehab but it had to be put down.
So cute!!!
I'm literally crying of happiness
same
Thanks for this video! It's good to see the full process. I have a dove family of 4 on my balcony right now as well. I guess the babies are squabs at this point. Luckily it's only a 2nd floor balcony and there are no outdoor cats on this street, so I think they will be okay once they leave the nest. But anyway, it's such a heartwarming thing to watch unfold
Thanks for sharing.just remember the old days back home raising pigeons in our backyard 😊
My family used to raise pigeons back in Poland too!
That was a good little story dude!!! 👍
Thank you so much!!
God bless you 🙏
So cute 🥰
While I can't say why or what happened but it almost sounds like there might have been something that caused them to Fledge early? Last year for the first time I had a pair of doves use my Window on Second floor for nesting spot. After the second pair Fledged last year the momma was taken in my Back yard at the feeders by a cat. I was heart broken in 2 ways one because she was gone, and two because he went the rest of the season without a mate. The good news was the first part of Spring he came back and found a mate, Offered her the nesting site and she took it. The first pair Fledged and I was so happy. I was testing a Camera in the area after the first pair fledged and when I seen she returned I took that camera out and added another one this time so I could watch them. She laid 2 more eggs and after a little over a week after she laid her second pair of eggs something Snatched her from the nest at just after 2am. (My guess a Screech Owl to feed her young) Looking right away to find out the eggs shouldn't be with out one of the parents for longer then 30 min. I thought for sure they were doomed. Daddy returned at 525am and went back to sitting. I thought for sure they wouldn't hatch. I thought he wouldn't be able to care for them alone if they did. Crazy thing is that night a Female came to the Nest without him ever leaving and took the mommas spot. 8 and 9 days later the eggs hatched and the Surrogate momma and the daddy brought them to Fledge. He started a couple of days before they fledged to try and find a new mate. The female i am guessing is his Daughter and so they won't mate. It has been a week since they fledged and I did make a short video of them Fledging to update my Channel because I did post the video of the momma being snatched and I was very happy they made it to Fledge and feel it was a Mircle. I think your 2 might have fledged early for some reason because all of the ones that have fledged here have always been able to fly around and be with the other birds in the back yard at the feeders the next day from the day they fledged if not the same day. Every day now he is still in search for a new mate to try and have more before breading season is over. Thank you for sharing your video.
They live in South America also, I have them in my country, Uruguay. They are beautiful. I guess they payed a lot of rent because that pent house was really very complete, so they may be rich doves :)
Just found what appears to be a young dove while watering a flower bed. While researching it's likeness came across your video. Thank you for sharing! Everywhere we go we are greeted by a pair, usually. They LOVE black oil sunflower seed!

Aww so cute💖
Ah I'm so Grateful to come across this wonderful Lil story!...as I was Surfing on Turtle Dove fledglings, that I discovered on the ground under neath the Nest ...with Mama sitting watching us try to help back to the nest. I've found where advised to allow the Parents to care for them as fledglings often do this when ready to Sprout thier wings! Seeing here what Loving and caring the Parents are gives me some relief as to...What to do? The nest is way too high for even my tall stature...what concerns me is...the neighborhood Cats! Ugh! I'll keep a close eye on him...and Pray he won't get eaten! 🙏🐦🙏
Thank you for sharing this well filmed and narrative delightful story of creations Wonderous innate Love of a Parent! 😊
💙🐦💙
Awesome, God Bless

This such a beautiful compassionate story of the doves. I would like to share it with your permission to my Seasons of backyard wildlife f.b. group. Would it be ok to do so? If not I will understand. Thankyou for telling your beautiful story of the two baby doves.

🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have mourning doves on my back porch (second story up) and the parents keep flying down and calling them but they wont even leave the nest. I was scared it may be to far up, but this video is reassuring. I was starting to debate with myself on if i should move the nest or not.
Aww guys a couple of doves are incubating in my fire scape but Im scared the nest is very flimsy theres not enough branches or anything. Also how are they gonna learn to fly Im on the 4th fl if they fall down theres cars and people walking around. No bushes for them to hide. How can I help them??
Yesh
It happened exactly.
Very cute and heart warming. Though probably drove your cats bonkers that they weren't allowed to get at them on the balcony. Always drove my cats crazy if a bird nested on our front porch lol. They couldn't understand why the humans won't let them out to kill the birds.
I feed lots of birds on my balcony so my kitties are used to seeing birds all the time but they were a little frustrated that they were not allowed on the balcony at all while the doves were nesting.
😩🥺😢😭
Did they came back this season?😮😅😊
Yes! It was very fun to watch new babies grow up. I might make another video about it 😀
Ich habe auch ein vogel küken gefunden, leider humpelt und flügel war gebrochen. Jetzt geht es.
I watched this video because I found one and was worried if it was injured so I got a box to put it in gently but made sure if that's what it needed since I didn't know a lot about birds since there's like dogs and cats around here where I live so I got worried if I left it but if it's supposed to be on the ground at this stage then I'm going to put it back where I found it 👍 but I just wanted to make sure the bird was okay
Tough love is something I never liked in the first place. Eventually Independence is something that must come because parents won't be there for their children forever. Becoming independent is reality nowadays.
🥰🥲
Liberal goofball drama.
It was normal dove life. 😏
I used to have a pet dove baby in turkey, she was a good girl, until the day she died, I buried her at the age of 9 or 10. She was Masha, my love, she was a cute pet I had. She was found in MY own family’s stove (fireplace) it did never work. I adopted her, and she got introduced to my buddies and cat
