I did professional painting for a few years and I'm sorry, but these guys looked like it was their first day on the job or just being lazy. Two man job that would take no more than three days to do excellent work for a home like yours. Sharp lines, walls and ceilings with no runs. Smooth af. Removing all wall plates, light fixtures, registers etc, taping, mudding and sanding first day. Two coats on day two. Half day for touchups, cleanup and reinstalling wall plates and registers properly etc if we didn't have another job to go to. Otherwise we'd do it in two days. Mind you, a days work included an hour lunch, multiple smoke/vape/weed breaks all in less than eight hours per day. Our tarps had only dust on them. Super clean, but pricey. You get what you pay for. :)

Letting the contractors F-up the carpet is a huge help for everybody. Dealing with floor coverings is never perfect and leads to more headaches than they are worth, but spending the extra $1000 for carpet not only helps the room feel new, but gets a lot of sneak dust out. Great job!

As a guy who works in home repair, professional sheetrockers have my sincere respect. It blows my mind how much more they can do than I can, in less time, looking just as good if not better!

My family went through a major kitchen remodel two years ago and watching this video has resurfaced unpleasant memories. Every night after work, using my shop vac in the kitchen, dining, and living room to capture dust, dirt, and debris left by the workers of the day. At first it feels like a losing battle, but near the end it is much easier. And you can reduce transferring the material to other parts of your home.

We did a home renovation about 6 months ago and our contractors were super nice. They went above and beyond by doing things that were lost in communication. It’s kinda sad to see they could have done some small things to help or fix but they just didn’t care. At the end of the day if you are okay with it, that’s all that matters. I just hate seeing it as a “perfectionist”.

We always use the cooking pot that you put in the not used part maybe from wedding gift. It's pressure cook food, so what you do with a slow cook in 3h it does the same result in about 30 minutes!

@ 10:07, the palm tree was dope af on the wall. Makes me want to go back to hawaii really bad. FYI, my first time there was after you went to the plantation cottages on Kauai, I did the exact place about 6 months later, you sold me on it. Also, can wait for some shelfing of something behind you to make it look like good ol Pauls HW man cave again.

I'm going to use my fan stockpile to recreate the fan pc case meme. I just don't come across 80mm fans like i used to. The "box fan" fans I've made are surprisingly stable. Just lay the fans side by side in 2 (or more) rows/columns and lash the corners in an x pattern with mildly stretchy zip ties. Another method I've done is by twisting cat5 wire like bread ties instead of zip ties. They make great window fans. I once did one from the floor to the top of a door frame and closed the door as far as it would go to vent a room.

Not holding to an agreement and doing shoddy work “no matter the size or scope” should not be tolerated. Your a good guy and I hate seeing people being taken or have to settle for lessor work.
