It's the final teardown 🎶
Someone has to do it 😂
Dununu dunununuuu
Glad I'm not the only one who instantly had that song in their head after reading the title. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glad I'm not the only one who had the song play in their head.. lol
that's funny, that was the first thing that popped into my mind when i read the title as well
I like the moonlight colour, which is a UV Treated white. It's white at night, but during the day it's a really subtle blue colour.
Hana is 4!? It honestly doesn't feel that long since you broke the news to us all. The first video in this series (love your vlogs btw) saddened me but was lovely seeing Hiro again.
Thank you for all the years of education, entertainment and everything you and Joe have done for us.
Those wall plug box receptacles being patched with only the mud will eventually crack and be uneven over time. They make a "mesh" similar to a "lathe" to help support the mud as it dries and keeps any cracks to a minimum as well as keeps them small. They also hold the mud consistently whereas nothing in the opening will rely on only the perimeter of the mud to hold the chunk of mud in place...it's not a very strong method.
I particularly liked the special artwork taped to the closet door in the computer room.
Those vac jokes though. Gold.
We need micro centers in Canada we've got no decent computer stores
Truth ^^^
The Space Balls reference just melted my heart and made me happy.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Time for our virtual therapy everyone! Paul's Homeware!!!!!
the "trick" to drywall finishing is a light coat with a huge ass spatula, typical finishing spatulas are ten ore twelve inch and leaves a much smoother and less sanding type of finish, if your first coat is too shallow that is what you want, just add another skim coat and be happy you diddnt spend days sanding
Just want to echo that I too love renovation videos as much as I love tech videos, always awesome to see when they collide. Keep up the vids like these!
A beer and this video is how I'm unwinding from work this Friday. Thanks Paul!
Joe's become much more than your editor. Great guy.
Paul, please replace your smoke/CO detectors!!! Their useful life is generally around 10 years old, and they look well over that. Remember: one in every sleeping room and one in the hallway leading to the bedrooms, but not too close to the bathroom or steam could set it off. Also, get a home fire extinguisher as well if you dont have one already. October is fire prevention month, so it's a perfect time! 😀
Really enjoy these videos. Always look forward to seeing any content you put out. Keep it up & keep healthy Paul.
We just used Lazy Gray paint in our living room! Fine choice, sir!
Joe seems like a really good dude, he came through with big assists on this project.
Listening to this video while remodelling my apartment. BTW yesterday, well actually until 3AM this morning, I just finished SSF build with lianli a4 h2o build with 7950x and 7900xtx 💪
This is a home building show that is actually about repairs and not centered on the drama between contestants.
Loving the home/work vlogs.
ive been watching pauls hardware fover 10 years. love all the content.
I don't think your going to get many requests for the name of your drywaller from this video.
Agreed. They did a piss poor job, and don't deserve the business.
keep that paint crew around forever!!!! went out of way to fix last companies slips so you stuff looked good. Great business Ethics and Practice I think.
Love this series. Glad Joe could help supervise while you were away.
I dont really watch any home improvement or reno stuff normally, but i always have found your coverage of it over the years very enjoyable to watch, so thanks for the updates!
That little vacuum looks awesome hopefully it goes on sale in Canada eventually!
Nitro Punk X
How old are you, why the weird name ?
We all made lost of money in the real estate market, too remote Linus ?
Try to find a Canadian car ? No Cheap BMW ? only Hyundai nation, import them from France and Europe, the mother Nation !
Work at home Paul ? tax, office needed ?
I don't know why your house/office workspace upgrade videos are so interesting but they just press some button for me. I'm frankly riveted to my seat watching each one and find myself anxious for the next one. send help
5:42 man that's satisfying lol
i love that we have the same color choice for our offices lol, I was like HEY that looks LAZY!
Not that you need to add yet one more thing to the to-do list right now, but maybe you could replace the thermal paste with a Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet (or similar) to avoid 'migrating' paste in the longer term? Interesting video series, enjoying it all!
Here's a comment that hopefully help this video rise to the top of the recommended algorithm and gives you motivation to keep doing home improvements and record them! 😁
I have the same WD drive (4TB) in our UDM Pro for our cameras. Works great.
Museum drive, for the porn, not trusting the cloud ?
Extra thumbs up for the vacuum footage.
I love the safety sandals 🩴
A good paint crew is awesome, our house had some repairs from before we moved in and the paint didn't match... Finally got it fixed and now I know the correct configuration going forward.
let's go! best of both world PC and home improvement GG Paul
Damn it! that song stuck in my head again! Great!
Hi Paul love all the updates on the house project!!
I really appreciate the smooth jazz that plays under these videos. They make watching a chill, relaxing experience.
I keep checking back for phase 4. cant wait!
I am confused as to how the drywall crew couldnt do the whole job..... If you dont finish you dont get paid.....
It's not abnormal for a contractor to do just the work needed to fulfill the contract, since we don't know what was in the contract we don't know if the job was completed, not, or exceeded. Contracts are usually specific on what needs to be done when it's patching and prepping, if a electrical box is no longer going to be used and it isn't in the contract to fill it contractors will not do it and that's to be expected. If they fill it and it is going to be used then they messed up, if it isnt in the contract the error is on the person that wrote up what is to be done in the contract. Did they finish? We don't know.
*Edit, as for the register and alarm, I am sure that was part of the teardown that Paul did and not in the contract and therefore Paul's fault. Doing the teardown prep-work yourself is a great way to save on the contract cost but if you miss something you can be sure they will ignore it. They ignored it and Paul did the teardown...
I was thinking the same thing
Funny you said Finish. Because the plaster/point up is part of what a Finisher does. So saying, If you don't *Finish* you don't get paid is two fold !
They could have asked and adjusted the bill accordingly...... If I am working on a house the owner is usually hovering around chiming in @@JETWTF
Is what it is. Deal with it. I have seen contractors be a lot worse. Just wait until you get a home and have to heal this them.
Smoke detectors on the wall!!!😮. Resulting in 30cm of smoke before it gets detected!
awesomesauce!! That is a TON of work to the house.
OMG!!! Hanna is so big.
I know I enjoy these other types of videos. So I hope they satisfy the algorithm. Looking forward to the rest in the following weeks!
Caffeinator out!!
The sound dampening is quite astounding in the video compared to the echo mess that your garage was back in July. Good job setting back up, Paul. Looking forward to the content.
You have to love Joe helping out!
Hey man much enjoy your content, keep up the good work!
Really like these videos, despite not being full of hardware. Keep up the good work :)
Loved this series, Paul! Just wished that there was more. Glad that you were able to enjoy your family vacation in between the renovations.
very cool, thanks Paul
I know this comment is not on topic. But, I really just want to say that, you inspire me to be the best man I can be. I have not always been my best. And in those moments I always think about what you would say or do in whatever situation I'm in at the time. There is just something about you that is so admirable. I hope you don't mind this kind of comment/hope everything is going good for you and your family.
these videos are great as much as i love the regular content, this is just a nice break,
I wish Micro centre was in the UK.
Give me Phase 4 noooooaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Hi Paul. Now that the work on the garage is finished, I'd like you to expect this to happen. Your wife will annex (think Russia/Ukraine) and convert it into one nice laundry, utility, and food pantry room. If this were my project, I would scrap the garage door and enclose the space with a wall, windows, and door. Remember to add a few fire extinguishers. One never knows when a PC will self-destruct.
I really do love the series that you are doing really great video editing work by Joe! 🎉😊
these type of vids i love. keep it up!
Love these types of videos Paul, hope you can do more of this style too!
love this series keep them coming please.
Looks good but man the Drywall contractors did a rough job. When I saw the last video, I knew those drywall contractors were bad.
Whoever recommended that drywall company to you should be poked in the eye. Never hire that company again, leave a 0 star review and tell all your friends about how bad they are. Kudos to the paint company for picking up the slack and finishing the job.
It's looking great!
Been enjoying your vlog vids and I'll be waiting for the next iteration of this renovation series.
For feedback the only part that stuck out to me was the Sentry build footage. There's some weirdness that looked a bit trippy, kinda like a Parallax effect that may have made some people a bit motion sick. It looked like a ultrawide/fisheye lens footage that got cropped in and motion stabilized in editing.
Apart from that its all good and I'll probably be going back to this series and your other vlogs that involve wall patching and painting for notes as at some point I have to fix cement wall cracks in a room and repaint it.
Out of all the channels I'm subbed to, there are only a couple that I have notifications turned on for. Yours is one of them. Whether it's straight up pc hardware/tech, or these behind the scenes renovation vids, your content is always engaging. 👍
Loving this type of content! Getting to see real-life stuff is great for us seeing you as a person not just a content creator. Looking forward to seeing how everything turns out!
man, I'd be irritated with that drywall crew... especially when settling up the bill. But love the videos, your set up is going to be great!
Joe is always a life saver! W Joe!
I was having a horrible day until I saw this video. Made my entire weekend better!
Cool !
I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to come off as a judge-y prick, but those drywallers sucked. They have no business being in peoples' homes if they're not willing to do the job right. I'm sorry you got burned, Paul, you don't deserve that.
Thank you for putting these, and all your other videos out. You, and they have helped tons of people, (my self included), through the years.
Really like this video series. I do wish they were a little bit longer.
We almost have our garage cleared back out from all our remodeling. I’m so happy to be about done with that stuff till at least spring anyways. Looks good Paul.
I honestly like these home videos a lot
Good Space Balls reference.Just hope no one caught you playing with your dolls again.
I liked the suck and blow part.
That mud crew was less then stellar
i love smooth finish, great upgrade and so much more pleasing to the eye. i kinda enjoy the vlog type vids more so than pc build if im honest but that is just me lol. much love have a great day :)
Coming together great man! The bobble-less PC room is particularly joyful.. no more accidental arm abrasions and settling dust.. was it that rough? It looked it.
Good job
Great Spaceballs reference
Ooo more home improvement content tim allen would be proud 👏 😊😊
6:15 - learned something new - thermal paste migrates under gravity. I'm surprised the relatively narrow space between a cooler and the IHS would let that happen.
As soon as I saw the title, I immediately heard a kazoo in my head. 🤣
Those drywall contractors were such a**holes, you can easily see when people work in something they like and when they do it because they can't find anything else.
@6:06, never had issues with thermal paste walking to one side, all builds being vertical mounted.
Think you had a bad mount.
I'm coming into the stage in my life where I, like Paul here, am embracing the dad short. I implore you, audience member, give that dad short a try.
very cool paul glhf fam
I like these
Doesn’t look bad but personally I wouldn’t have done the skim coat. It looks to have added to much thickness to the walls that could crack and break off. And then you now have your ac registers mudded in which would drive me crazy.
Spaceballs reference, this is why i love your content
What kind of cooling performance did you get from those thermal pads on the sanding block?
Looks like you got a great crew for painting. Also, that DataVac certainly does suck. 😀
Impressive you can get a powerful enough vacuum to suck up dust instead of having to blow it off.
That drywall crew did a crap job. The amount of patching they did needed a lot more compound to level out the walls, literally a couple of feet above and below just to float it out. :( Paint crew did some of their job for them at least, A+ job from those guys.
LOL that is the exact same Grey paint I have in my living room
Tell MicroCenter to move one of their GA locations to FL...
now THAT's how you sell a vacuum cleaner lol!!! i bet they just sold a couple thousand.
you should try out one of the new thermal grizzly pad on the cpu in that mini pc
Have you thought about using a graphite thermal pad, instead of paste on that Sentry pc, that won't run with gravity? Great work as always you two.
I'm waiting for the truth about Joe video where we learn the dark secret. He just seems too awesome!
Hey Paul, on the security PC, wouldn't it be better to instead of paste that can migrate, you can use a cryo sheet thermal pad that runs slightly hotter but will not migrate at all? Just a thought. Maybe it might be a good idea to look at. Keep up the great vids.
July, JULY so this is now a Retro computer channel go Spectrum :)
