I'd say it is most useful to put in a glove box of a car or in a backpack. A place where you wouldn't bring a full socket set. If used correctly it should work well enough, though they have issues with over torqued or rusted bolts. Universal sockets also surprisingly work well on rounded nuts and bolts.

I've actually been using that universal socket to work on my car and it works pretty well if you are not trying to loosen something rediculously tight like that.
Best "car guy" gift I've ever received: a pen flashlight, but the light part extends (like a good 2-3') and is magnetic. I can never get my hand down in the engine bay for that inevitable dropped nut/bolt and that thing is GOAT (and like fairly cheap too!)
The universal socket has helped in the weirdest ways in my life. They are by no means durable, but, as long as you have a spare for those random lugnut issues and other moments where their's some odd shaped "nut" that needs to be removed, you'll be stoked you spent the 10 bucks on having a couple around. 👍🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
The universal socket is a decent idea for around the home repairs, but it isn't truly meant for cars. I've seen videos op people using them for fasteners really torqued down and it breaks the pins that hold the bolt in place when you try to break them free. On the other hand, I've installed some hooks and eye bolts into the rafters in my parents' basement for hanging stuff (after predrilling the hole for it) and it makes driving in weird things like that easier.
A universal socket (was given to me as a Christmas present) saved my boyfriend and I, when we went to pick up a set of wheels. (it was a pull it yourself situation) Didn’t have the lug nut socket and clearance around the lug nuts was basically nonexistent. Took a little effort but we got them off with no scratches! Definitely not something used a lot but very helpful in odd situations lol
As someone who flipped a jeep liberty on a blind turn and ended up upside down in the middle of the road. You remember you have a seat belt cutter really fast. You can't just bounce up and down to loosen the tension on the buckle.
A rescue knife is actually a brilliant idea. Not that you want to use it ever, but my dad had the chance when he flipped an ambulance on its roof to cut the seatbelts (you can not open them hanging upside down since you are putting pressure on the lock), and smash the windows to safely climb out of the vehicle. The whole family carries knives with this functionality, and I'm thinking of getting a nicer one.
I had one of those universal sockets and I loved it. It saved a lot of time and annoyance when every single bolt on whatever part/s you're removing or putting on is a different size. I hear a lot of crap about them being shit quality and breaking or stripping bolts but mine never did and was durable as hell. I can't remember what brand it was but it definitely was high quality. I don't even know how I acquired it, it was just there one day. Nearly cried when I couldn't find it one day and never saw it again.
I think the multi tool is a pretty good gift, especially if you are prone to rolling your car or driving into rivers, and stuff. Actually, it seems like it would be good to have in your center console because if my belt was hung up in an accident I do not want to stick around and fry. Ditto on the drowning thing. And...when they finally do put or pull my car out I could quickly check my tire pressures to make sure I could get home safely. Seriously though, in either of those situations...I would definitely remember that tool was there in the console.

7:40 I can verify what Nolan's saying from my experience upside down in a car that only in the most specific situations would you need something like that. When I flipped, I just unbuckled my seatbelt, put the car in park (not fun upside down), turned it off, opened up the door, got out, and me and my buddies put it upright (I'll never forget one of my friends ignoring me and going strait to see if the reese's pieces bucket in the backseat was alright). Although, the car in particular was just a little Aveo, and since its so small and light, the roof barely crumpled and the body as a whole was in decent shape for a flipped car. I guess if the car was heavy enough and impacted something else in the right way, the door/doors might be damaged enough it might not open, but the glass would probably be damaged too, so you could just break it. Anyway, there's my dumb teenager experience and knowledge to whoever needed it
That car care kit is a major winner. To be honest, if I'm gonna get that for someone it will be chemical guys all the way. Mother's aluminum polish is good for wheels and toolboxes too. If you're good you can use it on old pitted headlight covers too lol
I think the seat belt cutting tool is more for if you come up on an accident and somebody needs assistance I know there's some liability issues there but if someone's in a burning vehicle I'm sure they're not going to sue you after saving their life
The Gillette Heated by itself is $150. The Bugatti is the same unit with just a different paint job for $19 more. And its really nice once you give it a chance.
that Universal Socket is Useful for ONE thing... stripped nuts & bolts... it will fit on & get off many a stripped nut/bolt ...i keep one in my tool box out in the garage where im always workin on an old rusty 71 chevy... its saved my bacon many times over on a rusty stripped nut... just hide it in the back of a bottom drawer, so ur friends dont see it & make fun of u

Anyway, there's my dumb teenager experience and knowledge to whoever needed it
I enjoyed reading this, Tyler.
That car care kit is a major winner. To be honest, if I'm gonna get that for someone it will be chemical guys all the way. Mother's aluminum polish is good for wheels and toolboxes too. If you're good you can use it on old pitted headlight covers too lol
Imagine they did a wholesome ending where they gave an employee a project car
I think the seat belt cutting tool is more for if you come up on an accident and somebody needs assistance I know there's some liability issues there but if someone's in a burning vehicle I'm sure they're not going to sue you after saving their life
Im glad that the monolist is getting festive.
I have 3 original MOMO:s... Love them! Still sporting one on my OBS Silverado! Love you guys!!!
The last gift was the best!! I'd love to get a project car!!!
With the clutch and gas socks...you can probably get brake sock if you look for the men fit.
These videos are beyond if entertaining. It’s like Good Mythical Morning But cars
I bulit a supra and Quattro on Christmas and I love them
The Gillette Heated by itself is $150. The Bugatti is the same unit with just a different paint job for $19 more. And its really nice once you give it a chance.
I like the gold ratchet from icon, best gift ever
that Universal Socket is Useful for ONE thing... stripped nuts & bolts... it will fit on & get off many a stripped nut/bolt ...i keep one in my tool box out in the garage where im always workin on an old rusty 71 chevy... its saved my bacon many times over on a rusty stripped nut... just hide it in the back of a bottom drawer, so ur friends dont see it & make fun of u
I have a cup holder phone holder kinda like that but instead of a bendy arm it has a fixed arm with button locking joints and it's awesome
When I was 16 my dad got me a nice tire iron for Christmas for my first car. I was genuinely excited
I got my cousins husband, a long time mechanic, a 10mm emergency socket kit set. I hope he liked it.
