I think it’s worth mentioning, those Carbon Revolution wheels on the GT350R were also offered as an option on the 2017 Ford GT (the GT came later than the Mustang, but the option was announced before they even started handing out allocations) and I don’t understand why anybody would’ve speced it without them

before gt350r carbon wheels cost 5x-10x more and only came on Koenigsegg from factory if i remember correctly. So getting them on less than 100k MSRP car was a bargain.
Cool thing about Campagnolo is they make some of the best bicycle parts you can buy. When I used to bike long distance with my brother we always looked for Campagnolo parts when building our bikes. I didn't know they also made the rims that went on the infamous M1; and as a big BMW fan that really puts a smile on my face!

I'd love to see a a series of this for aftermarket wheels.
The Pontiac Trans Am wheels also have a chrome version that they only made three sets of them for a detraoit demo show, and instead of being the stock 7" wide they were 8" wide, they also had some subtle differences in the edges on the wheel for some smoother edges. Some of the best looking "stock" wheels i've ever seen.

@@chavira2009 No lmao. I pushed carts there for a year and a half. The bad carts get pushed to the back of the store and taken away eventually. Usually tho, it isn't worth it push it all the way back there. Especially when the store is busy. Also we only have a limited amount of carts so sometimes to make the bay look fuller we'd just leave bad carts up there to please the managers.

Like a week ago I picked a cart with a wheel that was stuck and whenever I moved the cart it make a horrrrrible screeching sound which was insanely loud and everyone around me in the store would look at me. It was so funny because it seemed like I was the only one who didn’t mind it that much. I was smiling so hard under my mask and trying to hide my laughter, it was the most fun I’ve had buying groceries ever I think.

I did an oem swap on my focus! Went from cracked hubcap 16in factory poopers to some dope 17in (incidentally color matched) focus ST wheels. Now it looks much faster than it is!
“We will be back in about a month” they said “it’s a small break” they said. Ngl I’ve got some pretty big expectation for the next episode of up to speed IF they ever choose to revive that series again.

15:15 there is a lot of magnesium in cars today especially on the interior and it takes a tremendous amount of sustained heat to make it burn. Most north American Cars the steering wheel is Mag the IP the seats , instrument panels,Transfer cases in in 4x4s heck even the engine cradles in corvettes is partial Mag.
Campagnola also is a major cycling component manufacturer for over a century, great to see they got into automotive at one point

Many wheels you guys missed! Although I think one that needed to be shown are what I'm running, I have a very rare '96 Saab 9000 Aero R Vin with the factory "Super Aero's". Light weight, perfect dish, 3 spokes. They are STUNNING.

One of my favorite wheels of all time. They look good on damn near any 70s-90s American cars. I had a pair of rep 20” iroc wheels on my lowered 1992 2 door blazer a few years ago.
They are probably still nicer than tesla rims tesla look just as ass like hardware store hubcaps but those hubcaps just don't only look hideous as hell they are also a 100% prone to be send flying that they are downright dangerous throwing weapons tesla rims just look as hideous as those sad hubcaps just with two differences

I had a 78 Firebird in red. It had the red snowflake wheels and they were absolutely beautiful.
Up until December 2021 I worked for Carbon Revolutions, the Australian company that makes the Carbon Fibre rims featured on the Ford Mustang. That model wheel is no longer made but we made the rims for the Mustang, the new rims on the new Corvette C7 and C8, they also make rims for Ferrari and Renault. Some of the designs coming out of CR are really cool to look at but I always wished that they made deep dish wheels... :)

yeah they mentioned in the episode that car and driver drove the car with the hubcaps on/off and the hubcaps actually increased the range by like 10 miles, thats like having a 3% improvement in gas mileage. still not worth the look though imo, if i owned one i think id just take them off

only specific alloys of magnesium are non-flammable but they must also compromise the strength or weight cause they aren't used that often.
Magnesium also needs a lot of heat to burn. It's easy to light a small strip, but a huge hunk is going to be very difficult to burn.

I love 5-stars and the chrome IROC wheels look amazing. The KMC Stealths are my favorite wheels, they re not OEM, but they look great - They re five stars where each spoke is angled outward and the have a diamond cap in the middle. I had them on a 85 Monte Super Sport and a 87 Cutlass Supreme.
I have some of the a60 celica/supra rims on my 1980 Corolla wagon. Glad to see them high on this list.

Yeah, both Alfa and Fiat have made some lovely rims over the years. I've got some Fiat Panda 100hp wheels on my Uno, and it looks so stupid it's good.
