As an aspiring old man with minor eye issues, I can confirm yellow glasses do tone down the harshness of oncoming headlights, it turns incandescent lights yellowish and blue xenon lights to a more pure white. Also, you’re pretty much getting ripped off if you pay $20 for a pair.

the yellow glasses were one of the two main reasons I was able to drive through snow storms Christmas night. highly recommend them for night time driving in snow storms and 2 lane highways. anything over 25$ is wasting money.

I actually had the panoramic mirror in my truck for 7 years (but one from autozone) and really loved it. In a car its to big, but a truck it doesnt block your view. Plus I drove a crew cab, so I was able to see the full back seat and I could see both my blind spots and tail gate with it adjusted correctly. Kinda wish you would have spent a little more time trying these in different vehicles.

I wouldn't say I have severe eye issues but I do wear regular glases and recently I got a new pair that has magnetic lenses I can clip on top of the regular ones, my eyes are a bit too sensible to light and the yellow driving lenses that I can clip on top are a must for me, without them I'll drive for a couple hours and my eyes will be bright red while with the yellow lenses on top I can got for more than double the time without my eyes getting tired, those on the video do seem crazy expensive but you can get some that do work nicely, also, older yellow french cars had yellow headlights for a reason, it's not about being able to see better it's about not getting tired as quickly.

Yeah that was my thinking. They generally only think about consumer usage, but there are plenty of use cases professionally, where this is very solid. Not saying this one specifically is good, but the product in general is definitely worth it if this is a regular thing.
Also I don't even own a jerrycan, so it's not like they are a common for consumers anyway. They used to be with so many tools being gas powered. But with battery taking over, I don't see why most would need this, unless they have vehicles that you can't just take to a pump. As a consumer that is. If you have a car dealership/garage, this is definitely useful

I know your comment is around a year old, but there are way better options. Optician here :) The better Option is to buy glasses with "blue protect" They are normal white 100% clear, no Yellow. The Upper Coat absorbs the critical portion of the LED Headlight spectrum. Giving you perfect sight while also lowering the LED Lights. Those yellow glasses, they work in a kinda way of block nearly all blue light but many colors contain it in a way, meaning: Warning colors get worse to see.
And they take a portion of light away, meaning: Worse sight in Bad light situations.

those yellow glasses definitely help those with astigmatism, or LASIK for night driving, I was legally blind most of my life, had LASIK it made light diffract a lot worse at night for me, but gave me depth and spatial reasoning, the yellow glasses make a serious difference on a highway at night
its not that they make it easier to see at night, but it helps prevent you from getting blinded and needing a second to recover your vision in the darker spots while driving
(basically helps keep your pupils from dilating to small for the situation, as your eyes go "oh its day" and go smaller, but actually need to be bigger to continually see the dark sections coming up.)

So if you wear yellow glasses (i.e. blocking blue channel), it doesn't affect your ability to see in low light very much...but when a car's headlights are shining towards you, the glasses are cutting out at least one part of that light, making it a little less bright.

The use case is pretty small, but If it's raining at night, having polarized yellow lenses cut the glare from puddles and headlights and increases contrast. Makes things a bit dimmer in general cause of the slight tint, but they can be helpful. again, pretty rare that I would wear them, but in some cases it can be good. don't think the average driver is going to get a ton of use out of it...

I think you guys are missing the point of a few of these products. For example, a lot of track drivers really do use those huge mirrors as it helps with blindspots, it's not that it helps you see out the back window better but it lets you see out of the side windows without turning your head. The transfer pump is very useful if you have a larger gas tank that is too heavy to hold for some people while filling, or for putting transmission fluid in a lot of cars. I would imagine the yellow glasses are very useful for people with astigmatism as glare can be a huge problem. So I don't think your most of your criticisms of those products are valid.
With that being said, every single product you purchased is ridiculously overpriced. Yellow glasses: $10, transfer pump: $10, mirror: maybe $20. They are for sure ripping people way the fuck off.

Agree on the glasses entirely. I have astigmatism in both eyes and night time glasses are great in Colorado (which does exist James) where there aren't steet lights and people use their high beams on the highway with no consideration for anyone else

This episode was my least favorite in the series so far. I know it's all for fun and games, but normally they give more effort into the testing. With that being said, I still watched untill the end

I got that exact same pump twenty YEARS ago. Hence the D cells. Sold as a way of emptying a kitchen deep fryer. Did the job, and still does.

Would totally buy the fuel pump for the shop.. would make a great transfer pump from 55 gallon drum to fuel can, or to fill up that pesky lawnmower

I feel the facial recognition alert gizmo has a tendency to discriminate glasses users... lots of facial recognition things do.
Which sucks, because people who wear glasses regularly need them to drive

I wear amber vision glasses at night because all these LED blinders new cars have now. Amber vision stops the glare and makes stuff more visible. Glass ones are better than plastic here.

The fuel pump is super usefull in the right applications. I’ve worked on a motorcycle dealership that didn’t have its own big tank for filling up the bikes, instead there was loads of 20l gas cans and those are heavy to lift up and use in the “normal” way, so every time you filled up using the cheap plastic fuel pump you were really thankful not having to hoist the whole thing over the fuel tank and being afraid of spilling gas all over the paint.

I felt attacked LOL. I actually use something similar on my rearview mirror in my SUV. I love it because I can see out every window even a small amount of my driver side window and passenger side window. Definitely eliminates Blindspot‘s and even helps a lot at certain times when parking or pulling out of a parking spot.

I have that eye monitor integrated in the mirror of my car. That one screams at you if you close your eyes more than 3 sec and applies the breaks after 5sec.The coolest thing is that when the emergency breaking are activated the car follow the white and yellow lines in the road and refuse the car to cross over
