I can relate to the hard work as I too have done renovating by myself! I really appreciated you keeping that in the video....instead of giving the illusion that this was easy. I liked some of the techniques you used and information you shared. Although our styles are polar opposite......I can relate and share in the joy you felt when it was done and the hard work to get it there.....which totally made it yours!!! You are a piece of everything in this room......and not just by bought aesthetics (bedspreads etc.....that is easy).....YOU "OWN" THIS Completely!!! And I know how good that feels! Great JOB!!!! I look forward to watching more videos as you make this place yours! It is very inspiring as I need to do the same thing with my home. Thank you! P.S. Brush......Tom Sawyer painted a fence and being that he was a skinny kid....the brush looked humongous next to him (in the books that had pictures to go with the story from Mark Twain)

You have the most magical design style. ❤❤❤ My home is an open floor plan, that I find difficult to design. Mostly bare walls for me, since I have no design direction. I can DIY but not design. Ugh! 🙈
Awe thanks for saying that!! And open floor plans can be SO challenging because it almost feels like one big room! It can be hard to carve out different spaces within the big open floor plan and have them still be cohesive. My BEST tip is that design decisions build on each other, so if you can lock down a FEW key elements like paint colors, textures, or finishes, and just keep those consistent throughout, that can help things flow better and feel more cohesive.
Love how the floor turned out. Definitely worth the effort!! Like the window trim. I would hang curtains from the ceiling to hide the slanted ceiling. Did you try orange curtains on outside? Having the darker color frame the lighter ones may be a better look. I hope you had house inspected for structural before purchasing. That's quite a slant! Also wonder if it will pass code for resale? There are minimums for ceiling heights to be considered livable space. Not sure why you tore out the plaster. Couldn't you just cut out the bad parts and repair? You can still add electric to existing walls. Also why didn't you cover the floors while work was being done if you planned to refinish them? Crazy how you did all that work, then paint/limewash without covering them! Like beadboard, makes room look taller, although adding chair rail may have negated that. I am going to find your video to make headboard. TFS
