Dang, love it, used pipes for storage projects in my shop but never thought of the aesthetic effect of using them in the home! Also, thank you for the emphasis on safety where many diyers forget.
Yes!! 🙏🏼☺️💖 Pipes were heavily used for industrial style projects but I think painting them gold makes them feel more polished / modern! And safety first!! Haha 😂
That piping is no joke, hope it worked out for you. Had mentioned about shimming things to make it level, you could jam a thin shim in the hole which would tighten things up to level out. If having any issue
Thanks so much for showing how to make this unique shelf unit! I’ve been collecting ideas and pictures of plausible ideas for my space for a year … and this will be the first shelf I’m going to make, I love it’s style so much! I hope you’re still involved with this video bcuz I do want to ask, approximately how much weight would you say each shelf can hold safely. I hope to hear from you!
I need more space for my orchids, 9 in total, and this project is the most helpful I have seen so far... still I need it with more spacing in between shelves
❤ Hello there!!! Love this project!!! What is the estimated weight limit for the shelf… I would love to start this DIY project, I have bigger & heavier pots
For big, heavy pots, I would be sure to anchor into a stud and add another flange in the middle. Easy to add a middle flange, just ask at store if you need help.
@@serenakoleno9338 even after the studs the shelves are only threaded by the pipe and all of the stress would be on that area. Not really safe for heavy pots imo
Hi, could you tell me what the pipes are originally for? I can't find them in my country just by translating it, and maybe I can find them by "genre", if that makes sense. Thank you
I loved this! Your list of supplies in the description does not match what you used in the video, though. No where when you were building this did you use nipples. So...for anyone wanting to build this, I suggest getting the supplies she showed at the beginning, rather than following the supply list.
Basically since the hole is slightly larger than the pipe, theres enough room for the shelf to wiggle a tiny bit and because of gravity the shelf will tilt downward ever so slightly. Drilling a slightly angled hole will help keep it perfectly straight. You can test it out with a scrap board if you need to see it hands on 👌
Quick tip that should help with leveling the shelves, place a lil shim/piece of wood from the bottom into the hole along the pipe on the shorter side of the hole….once you get it to where you want it, the pressure should help hold where you want it and at level. And if along the inner side doesn’t work, try the other side of the pipe.
I love this design and Idea however having problems with the shelves staying somewhat straight they are all tilting down since it has no support on the other side any tips on what I might have done wrongly don’t want to put it to waste after all the time and money I spent into it thanks!
Yes! So this is why I say in the video to drill the holes at a slight angle to correct for the tilt. You can use some teflon tape (not sticky) to tighten it up - that may help! Or cut the boards and try re-drilling. I hope that helps!

For anyone who doesn’t know, it costs almost $100. I feel like I got robbed, but excited to start assembling. Lol
yeah but you have a bespoke plant shelves unit! 😅

Awe thank you so much!! This was so fun to design and make!

Fantastic idea!
You're amazing❤ just gave me the solution for my problem. I'll tag you in my tutorial when it will be ready🤗🤗

You gained a subscriber. This is really good content.
Good job looks great 🎉
Thank you!! I had so much fun making this project!! 🙌
Thank you! You made it sound so easy! Love this shelf.
Hello! ❤ Love this idea....should all the pipes, flanges, and fittings be 1" in diameter. Appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance 😊
where did you get the headboard
Very cool!!
Good work dear cara end your looks like a Loved
Simple practical design and gorgeous designer😍
Thank you so much!! 💖
What size pipe do you use? 1/2” or 3/4” or 1”?
Hey! Thank you for this video. Super helpful. How long could I make the shelves and it still be steady?
Of course!! I’d probably recommend staying under 24”, but you could absolutely try them longer and test it out!
Omg….. Linda Carter does DIY……❤
Simple y fantástico!! Gracias!
So cute!! Wonderful project and beautiful video 💚
Thank you so much!! I so appreciate the kind words 💖💖☺️
Thick video is awesome. I mean "this"
Looks great Cara! Love watching your projects and tips❤🌹
Thank you so so much!!

I have the same question
I would use your best judgment
Did you ever figure out the answer to this?

Spray the bracket parts before assembly.

the description for the pipes say ideal for supplying drinking water if that helps any not sure if thats what you had meant.
Damnnnn.... 👌

I’m really confused about the angle when drilling the hole. Can someone explain that?
Basically since the hole is slightly larger than the pipe, theres enough room for the shelf to wiggle a tiny bit and because of gravity the shelf will tilt downward ever so slightly.

What about that headboard
Genius
Thanks! This project definitely made this whole room!! 🙌
Do you have a tutorial for your garage door painting??? I really want to do that!
I’m sitting here overthinking complicated plant shelf plans and the algorithm gawds toss this simple thing right in my lap 🤦♀️
$32 on Amazon
Also there’s 4 couplings in the pics, but the video says 3. I got home thinking I should’ve bought 4. 😂😅
Blessed! For thy cake be thicc!
NEVER DRILL IN CROOKED!!!
HORRIBLE!
Camel pants need to go!
You look 18 and 40 at the same time, how old are you?
You should never wear clothing or jewelry that’s loose fitting or dangles while operating power tools.

Change of thought, put the shims on the longer side…
Try toothpicks or matches.
@@serenakoleno9338 great choices…literally anything can be used to shim, but that should be a pretty quick fix for any issues of leveling.

@caranewhart what does drill at an angle look like lol.
