I see people here scoffing at the message like, "well I already knew that so big deal." But the fact is most people in industrialized countries DO NOT already know this. Our Earth could be in a lot better condition if the level of consumption by humans went way way down. And the only way that will happen is through the will of the human spirit.
God bless you and thank you for your service. Fabulous build. At 60 I am preparing to get on the road and see more of my beautiful country, the USA. Enjoy your life. You may find you never want to go back.
I teared up with his message. I'm so glad to see vets coming out of those life experiences and making healthy choices for personal freedom. The lockdown into consumerism is a prison. Thanks for this.
Joan Qualters I hope you enjoy your travels and they are safe. Make sure besides your solar you have on standby a good generator. It gets hot in some states your a.c. may just pull down your solar plus you get in some good tv on a rainy day. Lol. Good Luck stay safe!
I love that you found the right fit to build it because it has such character still. Most “professional” builds have zero appeal to me since they lack any charm at all.
yeah it can be too challenging for a person that has no clue about DIY stuff. You may end up wasting materials and spending even more money than hiring a company.
Inspiring stuff especially now as lots of people are losing their jobs and consequently their homes!! So this is an option I’m looking at. They did a great job on your van too btw thanks for sharing 👍
I love your van! I came to the same conclusion five years ago. Sold the house and bought a fifth wheel RV. Mine is 40 ft long with four slide outs. I don't travel and live in the same little park in Florida. It's home and I love it.
Watched a few of his travel vlogs which i enjoyed, but wasn't able to see inside the van which i also like. He summed things up perfectly at the end of this video.
His wife must love him alot. Its not easy living in such a small place with 2 dogs. The dogs look precious, I couldn't part with them for the world or that lovely farmhouse.
Thank you for your service ! You tiny home appears to be very efficient and compfy. Thank you for sharing ideas in your design I haven't seen before...
I like that you were honest enough to say that you're bad at doing DIY. It's a comfort to know that I'm not the only one..😆😂😁 Your van does look great, wish we had one. God Bless and Stay Safe..
Gotta be one of the BEST builds, in awhile. You left it with pro's, while making our world safe ! Here in the USA in payin ones' respects - 'Hand Salute, Ready Front' 🇺🇸
Nice build... I was happy to see a bathroom what's a lot of people tend to not have one a deal-breaker for me personally lol... congrats on your new lifestyle after your service you definitely deserve it
Love this video, really inspiring stuff! We couldn't agree more with Rus on how freeing & fulfilling van life can be. Really nicely shot video, shows off the van beautifully.
Stunning, love the warmth of the farmhouse effect. But I especially loved what he said at the end. Be flexible, give it a go, nothing is written in stone...we can change our minds any which way. The only constant in life...is change. Many happy adventures to you guys.
Nice setup, man as a Royal Marine and me a Marine (Marine Corps), I must say I envy your lifestyle. I trained with the Royal Marines in a few occasions, on board an USS carrier heading to Norway, inside a base in England, don't recall the name was in 1995, and during the Gulf War where I received training from you guys on explosives, loved your dehydrated beer. Semper Fi
Love every aspect of the build, starting van life in the fall & you've inspired me with this design... I'm petite so it's perfect for just me & my 6lb fur baby... love the simple slats for the bed conversion, I would just add 2 small porthole windows for some light & extra ventilation
I was in the US Army, went to Iraq, several years later off to Alaska and loved the cabin I was in. Today I'm in am apartment but converted my Kia Sorento in a room on wheels. I love it and use it as my break room during this plandemic.
Not many people will tell you how much does it cost to convert a van for a long term camping and travelling . Informative video, thank you. Love the dog gate and the drying tray for dishes.
Nothing to loose, everything to gain! I am 66 years old, planning on taking my beautiful wife traveling but cancer has a different schedule! if you are thinking about it, DO IT!! MAKE THE LEAP! WHAT IS THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN! MIGHT HAVE TO SELL A VAN? GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL
Lol, I'm 60 next year n disabled and am working on my tiny house (shed to cabin); slowly but slowly it's starting to come together....You're never too old to go after something you want.
Thank you for everything you have given and done for our country x My husband and I are like you and your wife. It doesn’t matter what you have in life it’s who you have in your life to share it with. You are very successful in what you have achieved. Once again thank you to you both. As I bet it wasn’t easy for your wife while you was away. My best mate her fella was in Iraq and it was awful for her.
You could fit a huge working table in there too. Since you are not using the walls above your sofa's for anything, you could have a big drop down table above one of the sofa's and you could sit on the other sofa and work by the table. You could hide it behind a nice curtain if you don't like to look at it when it is folded up against the wall. Or you could sit on a folding chair between the two sofa's and work at the table.
Oh my I love this home of yours and your story your life ........what a way to go I've learnt from experience that processions are nothing when you loose your family and or partner ....... I just don't have the gust to do it yet but I'm getting there ......I respect all soldiers and wish you all the very best.....☘️☘️🍀 Regards from down Under ....🥰😷
Please - no background music when a person is speaking!! It is distracting, can sometimes overwhelm the words and, for those who are not from the same place, make it more difficult to understand the accented words. It seems constant background music has become the "thing" to do on UA-cam videos. Please buck the trend and let voices be clearly heard.
I don't think it's a trend. It's not a "youtube thing"; just like in every movies, i feel like adding background music to documentary videos and the like is very important to help emphasize the theme and create ambience. Also to make the videos less bland. Maybe it's the music choice, or they can tune the volume down. For me personally, I don't think it's distracting at all. Side note, I'm not really fluent in english and i have pretty bad listening skill, yet i can still understand most of it. I disagree with the background music being removed
Beautiful conversion with everything one needs in a home. I could easily live this life if it wasn't for my Grandchildren who I live close to, I would miss them too much to leave x
And why couldn’t it be forever? My van is being built right now and I can’t wait. I know this rat race really well and it holds nothing for me. I already got rid of 75% of my stuff and it was truly liberating! I don’t miss one thing!
Loved the dish drying rack. Is there a reason why you don't use it for storing the dishes on as well? Surely it would free up a cupboard somewhere else.
Love the van and your attitude toward life. My favorite part is the doggie gate. First one I've saw on a van build. You love your dogs and it shows throughout your build. You kept them in mind. Thank you for sharing it's very nice.
Absolutely Fantastic! Well done on what I think is a perfect job and also great on you two for making the move 👍👍👏👏at least your together and able to do the things you wanna do ie travel, explore and also living your life the way you wanna do! Bravo 😍😍👏👏
You cant get from the back to the cab in case you have to leave somewhere fast. Theres no way yo get upfront without opening the back and leaving the van
who did his conversion wildman? i ilke the farmhouse feel i love the sink you need a decent sink for washing clothes, etc as per dog washing, a solar showar bag, on front of the window in cab warm water then its not cold id keep a small storage unit somewhere. in usa its cheap
Wow amazing van, I'm kind of jealous that it was so cheap, compared to the prices here in Canada an old van with more than 250k on it would still cost between 10-30 k
I can’t believe how many van builds are on UA-cam. Is everyone on the west coast living in a van? I live in Michigan and we don’t even have a national park here.
“These are books I pretend to read” lol. At least he’s honest
Im pretty sure hes reas rhem lol one was called spy hes a marine for sure he read that book lol
I'm pretty sure he really thinking about that joke before make this video. Lol.
😂
Great video and I really enjoyed the message at the end. "You've got to decide what your definition of success is". Absolutely love it.
Ethan B this guy's got it!
That's standard life rule
i did not like what he said about the lock not nice
I see people here scoffing at the message like, "well I already knew that so big deal." But the fact is most people in industrialized countries DO NOT already know this. God bless you and thank you for your service. Fabulous build. At 60 I am preparing to get on the road and see more of my beautiful country, the USA. Enjoy your life. You may find you never want to go back.
Beautiful "farmhouse" touches. Also, his honesty is charming.
I teared up with his message. I'm so glad to see vets coming out of those life experiences and making healthy choices for personal freedom. The lockdown into consumerism is a prison. Thanks for this.
Darling we are in our 70 and just making our van at moment so your never too old
hope it works its for you.
Joan Qualters I hope you enjoy your travels and they are safe. Make sure besides your solar you have on standby a good generator. It gets hot in some states your a.c. may just pull down your solar plus you get in some good tv on a rainy day. Lol. Good Luck stay safe!
Love this, Joan!
Absolutely ! Never too old ! 😊
Yes, absolutely. But, his message about not waiting until a person is 65 to enjoy life is very very important.
This guy is like me ex military wanting a simplified way of life. After seeing the horrors of 1st gulf war. Love the van 💚
You were the ones that caused those horrors
@@-M0LE L
I can respect when people don't want to do the renovation themselves.
I love that you found the right fit to build it because it has such character still. Most “professional” builds have zero appeal to me since they lack any charm at all.
yeah it can be too challenging for a person that has no clue about DIY stuff. You may end up wasting materials and spending even more money than hiring a company.
This is one of the best van conversions....it has everything a person need in a van. Omg, I love it!!
Inspiring stuff especially now as lots of people are losing their jobs and consequently their homes!! So this is an option I’m looking at. They did a great job on your van too btw thanks for sharing 👍
I love the dog gate. I'm definitely borrowing that idea.
I have hard time believing that would stop a dog, I guess it depends but my dog would hurdle it without even trying
Great build, compliments to everybody involved.
I need to watch that Minimalism documentary...
that farm sink...adorable! Thank you for a wonderful tour of your home. Peace and Good Blessings!
I love your van! I came to the same conclusion five years ago. Sold the house and bought a fifth wheel RV. Mine is 40 ft long with four slide outs. I don't travel and live in the same little park in Florida. It's home and I love it.
Love this van & message at the end.
This video was done really well. Very insightful with good advice. Thank you for the info.
I love the dish rack idea and the bed-slat roll as opposed to the typical drop down table. Really cool!
Looks amazing Rus, wishing you all a safe and magical trip around the planet!
Watched a few of his travel vlogs which i enjoyed, but wasn't able to see inside the van which i also like. He summed things up perfectly at the end of this video.
His wife must love him alot.
Its not easy living in such a small place with 2 dogs. The dogs look precious, I couldn't part with them for the world or that lovely farmhouse.
yep. no idea how they do it. Hopefully they can put up with the cramped space.
she suggested the doco, so likely a joint decision.
Totally different way of living as you sit outside more.
I am sure she enjoys it too.
I could not do this full time with my husband after living in a spacious house... eventhough it seems like such fun to travel this way...
Beautiful interior, nice craftsmanship. Simple, simple, simple!
love their outlook on life, just give it a go. Love the doggie door idea, first I’ve seen!! Also “books I pretend to read.” , I have those.
That was a beautiful home.
Nice build mate and GREAT advice at the end of the vid. Thanks - Peter V
I’ve been following this guy for months and he’s a real nice bloke and soon as this lockdowns over he’ll be off in his van and so will I 🚐,,💨 ......
Really like this conversion, I have a 1940s cooker for my T5 love mixing the old and new, and love the mind set, what have you got to lose !!
Thank you for your service! And what a beautiful van home! So true about your own definition of success! 😉🇨🇦
Thank you for your service ! You tiny home appears to be very efficient and compfy. Thank you for sharing ideas in your design I haven't seen before...
Absolutely LOVE this van fit out. Cosy & homely yet still modern. Uncluttered & practical, even a shower!! great use of the space.
That bit at the end got me. Very inspirational.
I like that you were honest enough to say that you're bad at doing DIY. It's a comfort to know that I'm not the only one..😆😂😁
Your van does look great, wish we had one. God Bless and Stay Safe..
Gotta be one of the BEST builds, in awhile. You left it with pro's, while making our world safe ! Here in the USA in payin ones' respects - 'Hand Salute, Ready Front' 🇺🇸
There are a lot of great ideas in this unit. I like especially the vent, and rollable slats beneath the cushions.
Nice build... I was happy to see a bathroom what's a lot of people tend to not have one a deal-breaker for me personally lol... congrats on your new lifestyle after your service you definitely deserve it

GREAT-thanks for sharing. My mum was born in Derbyshire! She would have loved living the way you do.
Love every aspect of the build, starting van life in the fall & you've inspired me with this design... I'm petite so it's perfect for just me & my 6lb fur baby... love the simple slats for the bed conversion, I would just add 2 small porthole windows for some light & extra ventilation
I love the doggie gate!!!The farm sink, Drying rack, Vibe, Vibe , Vibe soooo much more! Projector for sure!!!
Along with loving the van build, I love the energy and passion in your message.
I LOVE the doggy gate!! I'm definitely stealing that idea!! It's like someone built a Welsh dresser in there. Such a beautiful van!❤️🚙🇨🇦
good job and good speech on the end 👍
Thank you for your service Sir!!!
I was in the US Army, went to Iraq, several years later off to Alaska and loved the cabin I was in. Today I'm in am apartment but converted my Kia Sorento in a room on wheels. I love it and use it as my break room during this plandemic.
I love this van conversion! Great use of space. They truly maximize the space. Good job 👍
Beautiful inside...mini farm estate. I love and totally agree with your last remarks and philosophy toward life...safe travels😎
I love this! This is absolutely gorgeous and a dream. I love your style!
Not many people will tell you how much does it cost to convert a van for a long term camping and travelling . Informative video, thank you. Love the dog gate and the drying tray for dishes.
Love your van design. Also, your energy for van life. Good luck.
Love the van and their plan for this part of their life.
First off, I love your van. Second , you gave good advice for others . Good luck in your travels be safe❤️this is lady from California USA. 😘✌🏼
Love it. Imagine it would be difficult to raise a family in. That's if you ever want kids. Very brave both of you to do this.
Two people, two dogs, and you want kids???😉 Think of the smell in the morning...😂
Impressive van, decoration style connected to his sold house
LOL love this guy "Go pick on someone elses van... sorry." haha love it

What a great conversion and attitude!! Makes me wish I was 20 ... okay maybe 25 ... years younger, lol
Lol, I'm 60 next year n disabled and am working on my tiny house (shed to cabin); slowly but slowly it's starting to come together....You're never too old to go after something you want.
His resolve for life is infectious, thanks for sharing

I absolutely LOVE this van. What a super design 💕💕💕💕Right up my street!

ya i agree leave music off its distracting
To Milky way; lf you think your vidio might be bland , don't film it. The music will only make it worse.
Great work. Enjoy your adventure.
Great van. And we agree with your philosophy about doing it young.
Brilliant! Thank you for sharing your experience. 💜
Fantastic van, some great ideas, love the plate rack idea! Great attitude and ideas!
You go dude for having a reversing camera
Really nice conversion and not cluttered, but square footage would be too small for me with two adults and two dogs, maybe 4 more feet would work.
Sounds like you need more of a tiny house on wheels then for your extra room, instead of a van...or an rv.
A converted school bus..can get short bus, reg size or the bigger ones and even do a roof raise.
Very professionally done
Great job 👏
Beautiful conversion with everything one needs in a home. I could easily live this life if it wasn't for my Grandchildren who I live close to, I would miss them too much to leave x
"These are the BOOKS I PRETEND to READ." LMAO!
GREAT VIDEO!👍

Cool! Safe travels~ from Oklahoma, U.S.
Amazing outlook on life. Well done for making the jump. On the cusp of doing it myself......
To each there own put the house is. Wonderful.
Loved the dish drying rack. Is there a reason why you don't use it for storing the dishes on as well? Surely it would free up a cupboard somewhere else.
Wooow thank you that was very moving and inspiring. .
Brilliant design, highly functional.
One of my favorite fans! Clover with a doggy gate, happy days :)
Im living in my truck and this IS me for the rest of my life....What did you do with that corner space to the left of the sink that you can't get to?
i think he said water heater
Love the van and your attitude toward life. My favorite part is the doggie gate. First one I've saw on a van build. You love your dogs and it shows throughout your build. You kept them in mind. Thank you for sharing it's very nice.
The people who did the inside were brilliant. The only thing I would change would be to make a bigger fridge.
You've stolen my tag lol... I was going to use nomadic veteran for my build..! I'm looking for a DAF 4 tonner to convert
Where did you get you dish drying rack please? Awesome van by the way ❤️
Absolutely Fantastic!
Just worried about the wood on the kitchen area near the sink. Would it last?
who did his conversion wildman? i ilke the farmhouse feel i love the sink you need a decent sink for washing clothes, etc as per dog washing, a solar showar bag, on front of the window in cab warm water then its not cold id keep a small storage unit somewhere. in usa its cheap
That doggy gate is awesome one👌
Beautiful van conversation 🚐🥰
Wow amazing van, I'm kind of jealous that it was so cheap, compared to the prices here in Canada an old van with more than 250k on it would still cost between 10-30 k
Man. His house was beautiful, I know that had to be a hard time to do it.
Nice design and good philosophy! BTW, you should be able to flip that fridge door so it opens the right way.
Love it all....I need more windows...LOL!!!!!.
.love the farm house more though ..LOL!!!
Love the gate!
I can’t believe how many van builds are on UA-cam. Is everyone on the west coast living in a van?
I live in Michigan and we don’t even have a national park here.
jbcr3 Michigan has FIVE National Parks. Look up Isle Royals National Park for starters.
Love this van and his phylosophy!
Beautiful Home❤️
