Cornhole is an outdoor game where the object is to throw a bean bag into a hole. The quantity of fun is directly proportional to the amount of alcohol consumed. That said, kids enjoy it too and that's why my wife asked me to build a set of cornhole boards for an upcoming school event.

@woodwhisperer Please please please keep including the outtakes. Your sense of humor has always been one of the most enjoyable aspects of your channel, second only to the AMAZING content and teaching. But seeing the frustrations with car noise, misspoken lines, dropping your router, etc....pure entertainment! Also shows a level of relatability we dont always get to see. Great job!!!

Marc, This video really spoke to me. I have been woodworking for 40 years and was asked to make cornhole boards for my 6 year old grandson's school. I couldn't help myself and was compelled to edge band the plywood, make a template for routing the holes, fill in every flaw, build a "bag" storage compartment into the frame, make matching handles, apply a flawless sprayed finish with graphics, etc., etc. When I delivered them to the school, other makers had also made cornhole boards. The kids didn't care one tiny bit about the differences between my boards and the rougher nailed together, brush painted boards. Haha. Thanks for a fun video.

I’ve made quite a few sets over the years, but the last set (2 sets) I made for son’s outdoor wedding. I put everything you mentioned, and more, into these boards, even making sure they met ACA standards. NO ONE noticed or cared. Not even me.😂

Haha. I made two sets of these for family and the next thing you know, I am the Cornhole Master. I had to make six more sets for their friends and friends of friends before I said, "Please, no more". For a newbie to woodworking like me, they were the perfect project. I actually broke even. Fun factoid: Originally the bags were filled with actual dry feed corn, thus the name. They now produce a plastic substitute shaped and weighted like an kernel of corn to deter rodents from devouring them in the off season.

A trick I used to make the legs the right length. Install the legs long and let one leg go off the side of your workbench, then prop up the board to the correct height. Then trace the top of your workbench on the leg. I do this for each leg individually and just cut it at the bandsaw.
Also, just use an eighth of an inch spacer to lift the leg up and push it away from the back board. That way you get a little angle on the support.

I think one of the biggest issues with a lot of the videos on cornhole boards is people try to over think them or try to show they have style. it's literally an outdoor game that in a year will be left outside for the whole summer. Just a thought but I would DEFINATELY watch that! Take care and have a good one, Adios!👊

Okay, love that you're looking for things to build. Couple ideas/suggestions (btw: coming from a fan. Love your vids...keep 'em coming). 1. You could use bondo to fill the knots and the tear out. It's super easy to apply, easy/cheap to find and sands like a dream if you're painting. I've used it a ton on trim work, as it's "shapeable" and sands down easily. Also, if you're looking for a fun project w/ low tools needed, you could do a Camp Kitchen. They'll a bit tricky to plan, and get it looking/working well. There is some videos out there, but not a lot of good ones and you could definitely take it to "the next level" if you wanted to add features. Just a couple thoughts. keep the great ideas coming.

When taping a line, be sure you're pulling the _center_ of each end and you'll get a lot less bending. In fact, you'll then get _no_ bending, so long as you're applying to a horizontal surface or vertically to a vertical surface. If you're applying laterally to a vertical surface, then you'll just have to have a guide line to follow, applying in very short steps.
