I’ve always wanted my own cornhole board set but I also wanted to make a revolving ladder ball game. My brother introduced me to this game and it's a ton of fun! Since I’ll need a way to keep score while playing the games, I figured I may as well add a scoreboard to the list too.
What I thought would be really neat though is if I could package all the pieces for everything inside the cornhole boards and make the entire thing a self-contained, mobile, easy-to-store yard game set. Well… that’s exactly what I ended up doing and it turned out great!

Thanks for watching! Here's the answer to a couple questions I've been getting...
Q: Why not just use the CNC to cut the hole?
A: It's actually faster for me to make a template like I did. Setting up the boards on the machine and zeroing takes time. Plus if I ever make more cornhole board sets in the future, I won't need the CNC at all.
Q: Where's the flathead screws??
A: Haha, they're there! I just didn't draw attention to them. I actually used quite a bit in the little toggles that hold the pieces within the boards.
Q: How much does it weigh?
A: The final weight with everything inside, including the cornhole bags, bolos, and measuring string is 63lbs. It's heavy, but not too heavy.
Q: Can you add wheels to it?
A: Potentially. I briefly looked for a style of caster that wouldn't interfere with the cornhole game but didn't find a design I liked. The wheels would have to be detachable, I think. A couple D-rings and a shoulder strap might help, but if it's too heavy for you, just don't pack all the pieces in there.
Q: Can I marry you?
A: No.
Also no
Aww
@@hardwarenutz9651 I only have two clamps in my shop
You know things are bad when Drew's neighbor didn't have any wood to steal.
I wondered where he got the compass from ... And pleaded the 5th
17:29 Looks like his neighbor has a shed he doesn’t need? Drew could make something real nice out of that!
Uses CNC to cut a circle... lays out ladder ball pieces with math and a compass. Great content.
Used CNC to cut a stencil.. then proceeded to draw circles to follow with his jigsaw 😣☠️
Great job on woodworking fisher, s yard game fisher, s shop 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Amazing work my man!!!
Thanks a lot!
these are the best wood videos on youtube
Glad you like them!
I so relate to the out-takes my time in the workshop
A great woodworker, but a better Dad!
Thanks!
Very cool game set mate, I love the way you put your bloopers at the end
Thank you 👍
As always, entertaining as always. Came for the woodworking, stayed for the outtakes.
Glad you enjoyed it
Ah... why not just cnc the hole?
Just recently found your channel and wanted to comment on the excellent content. Fun and funny, your advertising is tasteful, short and doesn’t take away from your video, and I think most importantly, your prices for your plans are very reasonable at $5. I feel like I would readily purchase all of them to support your work and not feel like I’ve spent a ton of money. I also appreciate the dedication to woodworking for those that can’t afford machines like a CNC. So many channels start humbly and teach so much then divert to great things (like CNC, high end precision machines, Etc) as they gain sponsors that I’m sure is great for the content creator, but mostly leaves projects out of reach for people like myself. Excellent work.
Thanks I appreciate that.
It’s always fun to see your newest video. Very clever design.
Glad you like it!
I normally don’t post comments been watching woodworking videos for about five years. I absolutely love your sense of humor and your fine woodworking skills. Please keep up the Good work. Not only are your videos educational but enjoyable.
Thanks! 😊
I just found your channel, my compliments to your for the excellent work and warm narrator's voice which makes the videos very pleasant.
Welcome aboard!
Knocked it out of the park. Very nice
😂 Greatly appreciate sarcasm. Its very satisfying watching drill and band saw cutting into the wood
Glad you enjoyed it
Great project!
Cool family friendly games. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Ya know lumber is high when Drew uses majority pine from big box :) May have to look at the other neighbors' homes for lumber to apprehend.
I had a truck bed full last weekend, officer was working the gate of a community I was working in. He stopped me just to ask the cost - told him I was straight trading it for a Corvette. We both laughed and went on my way.
Great project as always.
That is a really nice set up. For latching them together maybe add some pegs that stick out 1/4” on the frame of one box and corresponding locating holes on the other box.
That could work.
Great vid. The walnut trim on the carry case was a nice touch.
Thanks 👍
I make cornhole boards here in the UK, I made a jig from perspex that attaches to my router to cut the hole but you've definatly given me some new ideas here
Look...just for the record I clicked like before even watching the video just because I've been wanting another video from you FOOORRREEVVVVEEERRRR! 🤣
Absolutely love your sense of humour and the way you bag on all the naysayers!! People can be such picky a'holes sometimes!! Great project, if only I had kids!! Maybe I'll make one for the local neighbourhood kids mall area! Would love to see them hit themselves in the back with the 2 balls on a string the way your kid did, looked painful!! 😂 Bean bag balls??, And what's in the corn hole bags?? Would have to make all those myself too, luckily I can also sew!!
Haha... the bags used to have crushed corn in them but I think most these days are some kind of synthetic plastic bead.
Clearly the outtake doesn't fall far from the tree. 🤣 You're a great woodworker and an awesome dad!
Love your humour as usual.
Congratulations from Brazil 👏👏👍
Your Family is beautiful!🙌
Thank you so much!
Great job and use of space! Love the blooper reel!
Glad you liked it!
I love how these things nest together! What a fantastic idea and you executed it so well!
Thanks bud!
Too Much Fun! Keep it UP!
Nice work Mr Fisher. Love this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your instructional videos.
Thank you!
Great work Really creative!!!!!!!!!!!!! Impressive!!!!!!!!!!!
Your sense of humor alone made the video worth watching! The fact that I learned a couple tricks was a nice bonus! This is an awesome idea. Great work and great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello Drew, great video as always. Informative and I really enjoy your sense of humor too. I have made a half dozen cornhole board for my friends and family and found that making a template for the center hole would save me some time, Like you I used a high quality and expensive protractor and made my template out of mdf board the same width as the board and measured exactly where the hole should be (9” from the top). I then clamp my template to the bottom of my plywood top and use a trim bit plunge router to make my holes. For the cutting the leg angles, I found a gal can of paint lifts the top of the board very close to the regulation 12” height the boards need to be. I then lined up the assembled leg against the side of my bench, traced the inside and cut the piece of my miter saw. I always learn a lot from your videos. Cheers.
Thanks Alain! Sounds like you've got things figured out quite well
Love it! Will be great for your camping trips, and awesome memories with your son already captured.
I hope so too!
@@FishersShop I loved it Drew, fantastic project! In my past boards, I've used a wing nut on the inside of the cornhole legs. Thought I'd make that suggestion if you ever find turning the nuts by hand to be an issue.
Great project. Thanks for this one.
Your videos are always a constant source of inspiration and entertainment for not only myself but my children. We all get such a kick out of your wit and sarcasm. It’s pure gold man. Thanks so much for all you do for the community.
Thanks, Sean!
Hello in the wonderful world of creativity. I have to say I love your lack of humour. There is more to life than laughing. You have to have some fun too, as a very vise man said to me. (I admit that I talk a lot to myself :-) ) Great craftmanship by the way! All the best from the north west coast of Norway.
Thank you so much 😊
I was jealous of your woodworking skills and wit, and now I am jealous of your beautiful lawn!
Fisher Is the kind of wholesome maker the world needs. Great build!
I love watching your videos and your commentary is great you always make me laugh
Glad you enjoy it!
Bold move including the lawn darts.

Omg! Best video ever. 😂😂
Glad you liked it
Love your videos & your sense of humor...keep it going!!
Glad you like them!
Nice project thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
That CNC is adding your mind. You forgot the most important part- a flathead screw!
Your videos are always very entertaining! Thank you!
Glad you like them!
Nice job!
Thanks!
Wow you're such a good woodworker!
Hey, thanks! :)

Great video. With a strap or two the number board can be used as a back brace so you can safely carry the corn hole board to the next family outing.
Very nice! Thank you for sharing that.
Stellar work my friend! Kids asking for cornhole game, boy will I raise the game....your are such a treat!
Thanks 😊
Another great project. The best woodworking stand-up on youtube.
Epic-love this!
Thanks! :)
Always a good idea at Fisher's Shop and this video is no exception. I love seeing you and your son playing and working together. No one should ever question if you're good Dad. I am certain you are a prince among dad's. keep up the good work. oh and nice corn hole
Thanks buddy! :) I appreciate that
Besides my daddy, you are by far my favorite woodworker! I love watching your videos no matter what you make.
Wait for it... wait for it... THERE IT IS!!! That Flathead screw. You didn’t point it out, but I saw it. Classic Fischer 😃
I don't know why I haven't subscribed before now. done!
Nice yard!
Great work as always!!!!
What a great idea
Another good project.
Thanks again!
I fell asleep watching woodworking UA-cam videos and woke up to yours playing....and absolutely love your content and the workarounds you provide for High End Precision machines. LOL Thank you for being awesome!
As always - fantastic!
Thanks again!
With the price of wood today, you look like a millionaire
My house is made from gold bricks.
@@FishersShop people often call me a gold bricker at work. I guess it’s because I’d contribute so much to the company.
Was thinking the same exact thing
Yeah…the total cost of the project is…Eleventybilljion dollars.
@@FishersShop Oh, dude... he so set you up for the line about borrowing from the neighbor's... I'm disappointed.
Very nice!
Thanks!
You have definitely earned a like 👍🏼
Great job as always
Hola! 🖐That looked like it was loads of fun. Our family likes to gather at the park often, this will definitely be on the build list. Thanks for the video and inspiration to get building. Take care and have a good one, Adios!👊
Thanks! This has sure been a lot of fun. I love the spinning ladder ball game the most. Admittedly, once everything is packed up, it's really heavy. But I've managed to haul it around ok and we've taken it on all our camping trips.
@@FishersShop copy that, I'll just have one of my sons carry it if it gets too heavy 😂
Your dry humor is a nice touch. Starting my channel soon. Crabby craftsman. Same concept only bolder.. lol. I like the project
Nice design. One improvement would be to bring the threads off the rod portion that sticks into the ground. That way you won’t bring dirt back into the board when you fold it up.
Good call!
Need a weekly video from you. Love your videos
Never gonna happen. :)
Thanks for the great video. This looks like a fun project.
You have officially outdone yourself. This is the coolest idea. You are definitely awesome.
Thanks! Glad you liked it
I felt all the feels at the end watching you peel that sticker off without having to scrape or sand it. One of the biggest win/loss moments of my life every
time it happens.
Good project, good video
Thanks
That is a cool build!
Dear Mr. Fisher, Now that really showed the engineer in you! Great project.
Thank you kindly
I love this! Thank you!
Glad you like it!
Great job Drew letting your son win 🥇
Brilliant design. I have never heard of the string game before, thanks for introducing it. My youngest (adult) son and I have made our own set of cornhole boards but yours has Walnut and looks better, except mine has Harley Davidson stickers under 7 coats of urethane to smooth the decal edges out so mine get more points for the cool factor ; - )
For some reason your videos haven't been showing up in my suggested list, still subscribed though. I have some catching up to do watching what you and your boy have been up to. Good to see that you are still building.
Thanks!
Sir, woodworker for 30+ years and avid UA-cam project watcher. Your video is FANTASTIC! Liked and Subscribed. Already looking forward to the next one. Outtakes.... Priceless!!!
Welcome aboard!
Any one of these would be a fun subtle project. Triple the fun putting them all together! Thanks for sharing!
You bet!
Just bought and downloaded the plans for this. Thank you for making plans that are actually affordable. I see a lot of stuff I can figure out how to make but decide to support the creator by buying the plans just to see the plans cost like $25-$50 and I just can't justify spending that. So thank you for making them affordable so we can support creators !
This is BRILLIANT!!! You gonna have plans for this Drew. I’d buy em 😉
Maaaaybe
@@FishersShop lol
@@FishersShop what a tease!
This is awesome!
Another great project! No doubt the time you spend with your son having fun with it will be priceless!
Thanks, Lori! :)
Drew, a heat gun (on low temp) or a hair dryer works wonders for removing labels from wood or cardboard boxes. Once you get the hang of it (as in not overheating the label) very little residue will be left behind.
This was a nicely done project. You are full of ideas and creative ways to accomplish tasks in the shop. Thanks for taking the extra time to make the video and share with everyone.
Great project. Flawless execution. Love the humor. Thanks Drew.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great stuff!
What happened, did your neighbor run out of materials? Your sense of humor makes your channel a lot of fun to watch.
I so love the throw away comments. Very funny.
The best corn hole i have seen so far. Awesome job, and thanks for sharing.
Thanks 👍
It's so good to see you tubers like yourself still making time for thier kids. Im a dad myself and I reckon I will have a crack at this
U r the coolest dad ever
"...from my local home goods store..." can be re-heard as "my neighbors got a multi-camera security system... and a restraining order" 😜
Great project Drew! Turned out Realll nice! Great Fun for us and priceless time with family and kids. Wondering if there's room to mount some horse shoes inside too...but may take 2 men and a boy to lift it. Thanks for the hoots and Fine ideas!
Haha would need a forklift
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this before but you sound very much like Arlo Guthrie and you have the same sense of humour, very very enjoyable, not to mention your fabulous wood working ability. Thanks!
