I am 73 years old and i've Seen Jimmie Hendrix twice. But this Version is absolutely impressive
I’m 68 years old and have heard so many versions of this song. This one brings tears to my eyes. Otis, Anne Harris, and the guitarist are all great ! ! ! I can’t stop listening to it . . .
My Brazilian friend, I have missed a lot your beautiful country. Greetings from creta greece
I'm 66 years old it does the same!!!
Totally agree, keep coming back to this version.
Age 65 here. I feel the same Brother. Why can't we all just remember just humans. Peace and Love to You and Yours
All the hundreds of string pickers that has took a swing at "Hey Joe", not one can reach up to touch the toes of Ottis, he stands above the ones that try his copy, w/his super grand performance of this version. I can't find anything by Ottis that has done anything lately w/"Hey Joe" than 3-4 yrs. I hope he is doing well. 021124.
I am 512 years old. This is the best version of Hey Joe ever.
and the damndest thing, this long version can not be found (by ME!) on a OTC CD. What we have here is TOTAL dis-respect for the beautiful music these two w/a super band has created and it is a known fact at almost every concert this version, if not all his grand tours this stroke is a hit, the people came to this draw just to hear it. Right ON! Cruz.
Sono d' accordo amico . La migliore
The young man on guitar is incredible
who is he?
Taylor Scott is the lead guitarist

Taylor Scott ?
Thank you, Jimi Hendrix for bringing this song to light. Thank You Otis Taylor Band for perfecting it.
Music videos like this is what gets me through all the negative shit that's going on in this world today.
Amen to that bro 🎸 👍, I'm 75, totally agree with you 🎸 👍
I’m 80 years old, play a little guitar, read music and know some music theory. These people bring tears to my eyes. There ain’t no frets on a violin folks.
Jim, the young lady is so super w/the bow and her slo-mo just sets the stage to the total ambiance. I select this version on the table PC to Loop and walk away, Yes , I do set set up the amps a bit vol knobs that I do not miss a beat at the house far end, watching the Ravins coming in to roost.
Spectacular !
An Textstellen wie, "I go down to Mexico..." oder "I'd be a hanged man..." wird es eindeutig.
Jedoch hat Jimmy diesem Song seine Idee der Melodie angeglichen. Dank der Verzerrer! 😊
@@Thomas83KO Danke für die Info. Man wird nicht Dümmer.
Amazing violin solo from Anne Harris! She's so talented! 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿💖💖💖

Just amazing just plan good .
Man ,Long live Rock and Roll.
I still want to marry her!
0:59 it looks like she could be Jimi Hendrix daughter!!!
I m 62 heard a lot of hey joe versions , this is by far the best ever . This band nailed it all the way to the last note.
Subjective but ok .. for ne it depends on my mood .. and i like roy buchanan japan version and tim rose long version
@@TFFSRAD: Ben Pooles rendition is great as well!❤
The drum beat mimics Hendrix' shuffle style of playing. I'm stealing this 😁👍
@@MrPoodleguy Ben Poole is devoid of the all-important soul.
... endiend, are charming and unique this version. But, one thing is sure: when everyone listen for the first time...a song, remaining a profound Mark in the soul. That first emotion... will stay der in soul... forever. And, More than that: original is just ONE...😅❤😂
Very time I play this song ,for some reason my arm hair stands straight up.This is one of my favorite songs in my 65 yrs . THE YOUNG man on guitar is amazing.
What's wrong with your arm?
YES. He is. The Young man is really really good.
Who is him?
The young fine woman is also .
I've watched this video about a zillion times and never a dull moment. Amazing performance by everyone on stage..This is a masterpiece ...Pure High Energy !
Exactly, I've been watching for a year now and then. The part that gets my every time is where the camera closes up on Tyler to start his solo. That's is my greatest piece of art in this painting of a performance. Every time I listen, I hear some new nuance I didn't notice before it seems.
dam right!
Really professional performance
It's like butter
😂
Absolutely the most heart driven, passionate group of super talented artists I have ever had the privilege of witnessing in my 58 years on planet earth . They are so amazing with this cover the first half dozen times I heard it , hell it still makes my eyes tear up ! I am so excited about this I have told everyone I know about it! I could go on loop w this and listen to it constantly !!! Bravo Bravo Bravo!!! It has touched my soul!! So damn powerful I’m a fan for life !!!!❤
Otis' guitar rift at 1:35, 1:45 & 2:17 magical. Then the young solo guitarist, intoxicating. The violinist then kills it followed by Otis' mesmerising guitar solo. Fabulous. 🎸❤️👍
Exactly...incredible...such a deep emotions, I cannot find words for that
A simple song .... deliverd..... beautifully, passionately, sincerely, with power and style.
I ❤ this version👍🇬🇧.
I was blessed to see them in person. Totally incredible/ crowd pleasers. approachable after the show. A legend in my opinion.
Why can't music be like this now. X

Bloody well right, I love her! She definitely gets into the spirit of this Jimi classic, as does Otis! Excellent rendition, glad a stumbled over it several yrs ago, probably late at night surfing UA-cam! I like most the energy in her prancing around the stage as she plays, SO HOT!!!
Amen to that bro, I'm 75, saw hendrix, what a team that would be, jimi and Anne 😂😅🎸🎻🎵, but credit to Otis and the rest of the band, ✌️ 😂😍
the best part of getting old is the music just gets better and better.

Amazing!!!!Otis Taylor and his band are unbelieveable!!!...Ann Harris i have fallen in love with you! What a woman, what a musician!!!
Love this band! Otis Taylor took Hey Joe to another level.
Blown away. Thank you for that feeling.
I first heard this song in the spring of 1967. It was on the radio, by, what the DJ said, was a new group from England. I had never heard of them, and didn't know anything about them, but I ran to the record store (remember them), and pulled the album up out of the bin. It was the first time I looked into the face of Jimi Hendrix. I was a 15 year old Black kid in The South Bronx, and finally I had a rock idol of my own. I saw him perform 3 times live, and met him at a club one night in 1968. I think Jimi would be very proud of this version. The legacy lives on! Excellent! I may be 71 years old, but damn, she's got pretty legs!
What a great combo of artists! You have to appreciate Otis, stepping back, you want the stage? It’s yours! 😎
Fantastic best version ever. 70 years old, grew up with Hendrix and Dylan great somebody is keeping he faith.
Yes I agree
I am also 70... I listen to this if not every day, every other day!

Every time I hear this song it gets better.
Dude blown away 😎, 😂🎸👍, Brilliant version of a classic 🎸
Why this band are not world famous is a mystery , all fantastic musicians , better than the talentless crap in the charts . The violinist is world class
Amen to that bro 🎸 👍 😄 😎
they are all class. Otis reminds me of Jimi Hendrix. They have created a new genre-trace jazz and i LOVE it!!!
Amen to that bro 🎸 👍
Otis Taylor is a master guitar picker, masterful, blows my mind 😂, modest as well ❤, truth is he could blow them all away, play on otis 😂
Pure joy to listen too and see these people.
Best version ever
I'm 71 years old,,And only today did I discovered Otis Taylor,And that "truly fabulous musical force of nature" Annie Harris,,I will now endeavour, come what may,! To see you all in concert,,many many thanks, Dave.
I just turned 80 last week so the song has been with me for years, but not like this version. It is a great redo of the old song. It makes my putter flutter, especially with Anne: what a performance by this talented group
I just did, now! I'm 60.
Hiya Dave, well did you get around to seeing them live? I really hope so, I would say its AMAZING!
putz!
Every once and again I stumble across a cover of an old song from the days of youth. Most, I just skate on by unimpressed. However, this is one not to be ignored. Many thanks to Otis, Anne and the rest of the band for THE best version of "Hey Joe" I have ever heard.
I keep coming back to this, just brilliant.
And that ladies and gentlemen is how you absolutely destroy a fiddle... Outstanding

Killer rendition!!! Overwhelming amount of talent went into this version. Jimi must be smiling up in heaven.
@Martin G go back in the basement meathead
You shouldn't say such dis-respectful things. Especially about someone who can't speak to comment. Why make such a irrational claim ? Why even mention Jimi ? Why single him out ? He was just one of many who did a cover of this song. (didn't mean it ? Then your just sloppy . . . if you do "believe" then keep your non-sense to yourself. Why start a fight ?).
I'm no music authority by any means
And never have been but,...to the best of my feeble knowledge, ..there is Extreme Talent here.
Un trio extraordinaire une version de + de hé joe ! putain que c est bon !!! !! !
You are right about dat!!
Awesome set, supreme timing, skill and wondrous abandonment.... Jimi would dig it.... Wow
I have listened to this version at least 100 times, and amazed each time.
What a version of Hey Joe what a lead player, amazing music.
I, m 76 and think the violin player is brilliant
The thing about these UA-cam rabbit holes that I can't get over is how many smoking hot bands are out there. Brilliant!
They all Killing it....

A riveting rendition. So much to take in. Cant stop playing it.
Without question, this is the all time best recording of this song by Otis and his band. Just an amazing performance captured by an amazing cinematographer. Thanks Philip!

I agreed on every sylla ble. Sentemce every time very sound

Sorry. Autocorrectur Sound music IS absolut perfect
Beautiful music!
DAMN! another brilliant take on a classic tune. This band is smoke! First time hearing them. Sure glad I stumble upon. Thanks for post.☮️🎸❤️
Well, that was excellent. That fiddle made the whole thing.
Madness, three unbelievable solos. Greetings from Germany
Amazing solos! My jaw dropped when the Taylor started increasing the intensity of that solo then stopped. Then Anne comes in with her absolutely stunning performance shredding that bow, never heard a violinist rock it like that, even Taylor was smiling through it. This is sleeper performance that deserves way more recognition.
If you like nontraditional violin then you might want to also check out Jean Luc Ponty, a jazz violinist, if you haven't already. And speaking of jazz, Dorothy Ashby's "hip harp" is also worth a listen--another example of an unexpected instrument.
That VIOLIN THO!!!! 🔥 God DAMN!! That backwards lean...the energy....the hauntingly beautiful darness of it all. Whew!!! I cant get enough , chillz alllll over my body every damn time 😢❤ Fucking beautiful!
Yes, i have heard about 1000 covers of Hey Joe in my life too, but this version is the best!
I can't believe what I just witnessed. He lets his band members go and they just shred it. Brand new Otis Taylor fan here. Thank you for the music.
Super
I just found him 3 months ago
They have evolved it further and its now done with banjos. I saw Otis taylor and the psychadelic banjo posse at summerfest this july and it was quite different from this version. but both were amazing.
East coast to the west coast, none stop trucking music, feel the power, you have to take note, forced to listen and watching really puts on that ride, brought back memories of inventions that just stand out like no other, ditto dittos and ditties
... got the tempo up by a good 15/20 per by the time his solo was done. Swept the band along with him. Drummer managed to rein it in a bit in the ensuing minute or three - but it was fun to see a band get so pushed along by an incredibly building / soaring solo.
There are about a million versions of hey joe out there, this is so different, yet absolutely fantastic, great job!
Goosebumps. Serious goosebumps.
God I can't take my eyes off of this band, trying to watch every one at once
...And R.I.P to those 829 empty "Thumbs down" souls. Forgive them, for they know not what what they hear!

So simple playing, but true to the core ! Simplicity at its finest!!

I've been lucky enough to see this band live many many times. Some of the most trance inducing music to run through the human body. An artist to audience connection that lets you know your senses are indeed ALIVE! I dance my body into drenching sweat every time, 15 minutes of total personal glory. God I hope they play again after all this covid stuff goes away...........
Young blood on guitar. Wow
Where did you see them. First time I saw them, was this jam. I think they popped up because I pulled up Jimmy's "Drifting" jam, and another song. All my music is in storage, and I wanted to listen Jimmy. But this guitarist pulled me in with the sound of his first few notes. It's engrained on my brain now. I hear it just by thinking about it. I'd love to see them live ! I listened to that song sum 10x that first night I heard it. Good thing my sound system was in storage. I know I would have cranked it up enough to disturb my neighbors. I've done stage and sound work b4 and have a great volume tolerance before the music gets distorted. I enjoy the sound thrust thumping my chest.
@@brianwade879 I'm lucky enough to live in Colorado where Otis Taylor is based. Before covid he would play somewhere close a few times a year. Hermans Hideaway and Dazzle Jazz are two places in Denver I have seen 'em more than once. I believe the album this cut is on is titled: Hey Joe opus Red Meat. It's a good album but just doesn't capture this live punch. Otis is getting older and I hope he's got a bit of touring left in him, I really miss this...
Steve, you were really lucky. Hope to seem then too in the near future.
