I walked into this game completely blind, and knew basically nothing about Kojima. I actually enjoyed the hell out of this game due to the enjoyable scenery that you are able to traverse with the tools that you have been given. Not to mention the wonderful since of accomplishment that you feel after going across the map to deliver a package that you know you will be rewarded for. It may not be extremely useful but I still feel a slight since of accomplishment for doing it
bpwoods97 I’m so glad he said this because now almost everyone knows him as Daryl from TWD when I and a few others first saw Normas Reedus in Boondocks Saints.
@@pcon36 I didn't even know that was him from Boondocks Saints. I watched it a couple of times but never but two and two together. I was starring at Norman like "but isn't that Darryl?" Because I just assumed he would have referenced TWD when referencing him.
Can’t wait for Kojimas next creation. This game was truly stunning and different. Would love to see a moon colony game directed by him similar to The Callisto Ptotocol. Would love to see his spin on that genre.
That would be awsome. I actually don't know what people disliked so much about the game. I can understand if it's not their type of game, but that doesn't mean it's bad
Kojima already said on an interview for the BBC that he was currently in the pre-production stages of 2 games. Both of which feature moon based colonies. The 1st game he's working on is "UFO: The Return of SHADO", and the other game is "Space 1999: The Return of Space 1999". UFO will even feature the original voice talent of Straker, and of course, Kojima said Brian Blessed was already on board for his role in the Space 1999 game. This is defo unexpected and came out of nowhere (who even talks about UFO & Space 1999 today???), but they were decent old shows, and if Kojima Productions is making it, it'll definitely be worth a look.

It's almost as if they didn't make that far in the game and just trashed it. Even here he's saying the gunplay isn't fun and I don't know what he's talking about, I played the game on hard and I found the gunplay incredibly satisfying. After recently finishing the game, the metaphors and narrative swell... the idea of learning to better connect with people, to appreciate the little contributions they make everyday to have someone's life be just a bit easier was beautiful. The game made me rethink a lot about how I communicate and reach people in my life. It is rare a video game, let alone a piece of art, can do that.

It’s not a game for everyone, if you expecting something that will make you feel like some superhero and expect some crazy action like a lot of games, this is not it. Honestly, the game play videos don't do it justice. There's much more to the surface than meets the eye. I am in love with this game and this is my first Kojima game.
I just started playing this game yesterday (on the day of the PC release) and it was the most oddly engaging experience Ive ever had with a game. I realized I was playing what essentially amounted to a walking simulator but for some reason it wasnt boring at all. Very surreal
Exact same here omg lol. Well I just bought it the other day for pc and I thought it would be boring but the gameplay is really relaxing and the songs that play are perfect. Also these have to be the highest quality motion capture and cutscenes I've ever seen. You can tell a lot of love and passion went into this game.
The game was an experience. It’s an adventure, just you and your thoughts as you traverse through the world. People saying it’s a walking simulator or that all you do is walk. I don’t understand that comment/statement. It’s like saying all you do in the GTA series is drive when you know there’s more to it than that. I loved every minute of it. It’s something fresh and new. In a gaming world where it’s being dominated by battle royal games, imo, this is something the video game community needs
Game mechanics rock in gta, it's shit here. Imagine if you only climbed mountains in Skyrim, that's what it is. Maybe you prefer walking games. To each his own I guess. Watching this 4 years later after playing like 10 hours. The introduction to the game in the first 1.5-3 hours are insane! It's so visually pleasing and you can really feel the weight of the world you live in.
@Brad Cooper Ubisoft or EA wouldn't even develop something like this in the first place. Not to mention that this game's day one patch wasn't even 1gb big, it had little to no visible bugs and was running steadily on ps4 and ps4 pro.
Yeh because EA and Ubisoft make very polished games 👌 They all release buggy or broken. Especially ubisoft has the weirdest quality control ever, all theyr games feel rushed
35 hours and game of the generation for now. The game is never tiring because you gain new elements and mechanics as you progress. It is really complex, deep and strategic. I loved the action parts too, despite the focus being on bringing people together.

I clearly agree this game isn't for everyone but for me it was a great experience! I've unlocked the platinum trophy and still keep on playing because I like the idea about everyone needs to go the same ways to reach their goal and everyone is suffering because mostly this journey is not easy but once you stop to play this game just for yourself but also to help others to reduce their suffering like others did it for you... Idk it's just a unique feeling for me! :) good day to everyone reading this
Right? I don't understand this thing, honestly. I feel like their sales were really dependent on the mystery and marketing pre-release. Otherwise? Not many people enjoy a game that makes life too difficult. I was hyped at first, now I'm really not interested.

Kojima has been wanting to make movies for practically his whole life. I think he should. I would be fine if this was HIS last title because it whould have marked the start of a new company. GG Kojima.
To me, the ultimate overlying issue with this game is that if we are honest with ourselves, if this game didn’t have that Kojima name attached to it, it would absolutely bust.
If it wasn't attached to the Kojima name, it would get even less hate. Remember, people's biggest argument in arguing against this game is "y'all only support it because it's Hideo Kojima." If they didn't have that, they would actually have to rely on using their brain to comprehend the game themselves or just be a sheep to an IGN review which makes their opinion of the game completely invalid.
@@leafmanwithafryinpan really? I mean almost every reviewer or heck even people who play this game give disclaimer when said this game is great. Is great, but this. Is great but that. It's boring but great. It's great for people who like explore game, but. This game is great but always have but in the end of it. You know why? Be honest of yourself.
That's more of an issue with the gaming market than with the game itself. A lot of great games fail from lack of marketing and not having big brand names on them. Some average games are huge yearly sellers even as they become worse and greedier over the years.
Some of you may not like this game and totally understand that. With that being said Im sorry to say you do not appreciate games the way some of us do. So many games are alike nowadays. We rarely get unique and risk taking games like this. I absolutely adore this game because I genuinely think it’s fun and addictive. Even if you don’t enjoy it you MUST appreciate it for the originally and give it points for doing something no other game has attempted much less accomplished. Please support original games. support of games that break free of the mold will inspire other game developers to take bigger risks and actually offer us new and original games.
When they first showed us a gameplay of him walking I thought they were showing us the graphics and engine turns out they were showing us the gameplay 😂
@@dr.godfather8250 I'm extremely curious to know the story and pretty sure it's great but my problem is with the gameplay I don't think I can handle 40 hours of just walking
I think if he set it up with maybe more combat areas or a ng+ where instead of running from the horrors you could fight them all (I know you can fight a few of them) it might be less divisive cause Kojima is partially correct more people here prefer action oriented games but there is room for artistic intent things like Shadow Of the Colossus and Journey were not as divisive(although both had huge streches of boring nothing landscape sections)
I think divisive is the wrong word, it just won't appeal to everyone, just like any other game. The only divisive thing I have really seen is the commentary. Usually from people who haven't even played it but simply dismissed it and called it trash right off the bat. TBH I don't understand why people are reacting that way, maybe because it's different from your average big title. Ionly wonder if some people who would have otherwise enjoyed it are going to miss out because the walking sim talk. I am loving the sense of community in building and contributing to the work of others, showing appreciation for something someone to the time to build and having others do the same is a cool feeling IMO.
The reaction to the game is a perfect microcosm and reflection of the social commentary being made by the game in the first place. people choose to be tribal, disconnected only relating with those they respect or agree with. Most looking from afar wont even bother physically interacting with game at all and rather choose to watch another play or let others think and choose for them whether or not the experience is worth their time. instead they let "likes" decide for them.
The Director's Cut has been added to the Microsoft Store on Xbox, so referring to this to see whether or not I should consider picking it up for myself.

That would be awsome. I actually don't know what people disliked so much about the game. I can understand if it's not their type of game, but that doesn't mean it's bad
@Raiyan 👍

“’I’m not a professional...”. 3 seconds later “I’ve been putting my blood and tears into these for years’
I clearly agree this game isn't for everyone but for me it was a great experience!
:) good day to everyone reading this
Can you still get te platinum? No online trophies or something?
"For me, the fun is in the walking and carrying management"
NOW HOLD ON RIGHT THERE
Right? I don't understand this thing, honestly. I feel like their sales were really dependent on the mystery and marketing pre-release. Otherwise? Not many people enjoy a game that makes life too difficult. I was hyped at first, now I'm really not interested.
what so funny about walking ?
unless there is other feature to support it.
@@DanielGreen0 I personally can't wait for this game to come out on PC and will definitely get it because it's my type of thing. Just like how I love playing for example Euro Truck Simulator where you just deliver packages.
Is this the new Amazon delivery system for people that live in the country
@Libertas Masterpiece of.....?
Goes over mountain to avoid BTs. Runs into BTs anyway.
C Ickes but now you’ve spent three ladders and 5 ropes. I feel this
You have to check the weather and avoid rain to avoid bts.
@@rojdvla7895 this.
I just clear the BTs out get my stuff and package and carry a bola gun and a few frags
To put it lightly, this game ain’t for me. I was pretty skeptical from the start, and rightly so imo
Same. But it's enough for me to get one day at like... 20-40 bucks lol.
That’s okay, not every game is for everyone, not everyone likes racing or Mario games. The first gameplay shown for this was delivering things. I’m not sure why people are so surprise that this game isn’t for everyone
it’s cool to see a person dislike this game in a non toxic way, good for u man
Which is totally fine...if it ain't for you..it simply ain't....as for me..MY COPY ARRIVES TODAY BABY... I'LL BE ALL UP IN DAT BIH
@ian trofimov So not being a toxic dickhead means we are soy boys? Lol, ok.
I just beat this game again and put over 200 hours into it. I decided to play without the online this game is a masterpiece IMO.
Kojima has been wanting to make movies for practically his whole life. I think he should. I would be fine if this was HIS last title because it whould have marked the start of a new company. GG Kojima.
No point in insulting people with opinions. What you resist persist.
Metal gear rising 2 had better come out before then
@@RUN_IT_UP_ nice constructive criticism.
@markusCRAZYhodges no....i got it right i consulted your mom first
@Dark of the knight shut up £aggot
To me, the ultimate overlying issue with this game is that if we are honest with ourselves, if this game didn’t have that Kojima name attached to it, it would absolutely bust.
If said, EA or Bethesda make this game, it will be totally different story.
@@kennyyuliandrika7162 exactly my dude.
That's more of an issue with the gaming market than with the game itself.
A lot of great games fail from lack of marketing and not having big brand names on them. Some average games are huge yearly sellers even as they become worse and greedier over the years.
Die hardman: Another settlement needs your help.

This is top notch joke material for gaming community.
Jjajajajajajjaa
I’ll mark it on your map
Some of you may not like this game and totally understand that.
With that being said Im sorry to say you do not appreciate games the way some of us do. So many games are alike nowadays. We rarely get unique and risk taking games like this. I absolutely adore this game because I genuinely think it’s fun and addictive. Even if you don’t enjoy it you MUST appreciate it for the originally and give it points for doing something no other game has attempted much less accomplished.
Please support original games. support of games that break free of the mold will inspire other game developers to take bigger risks and actually offer us new and original games.

Boondocks Saints actor caught me off guard 🤣
Same haha
Yea. I was waiting for him to say TWD actor but said boondocks saint actor.
"Divisive"
I've heard this word in relation to this game a lot.
It's quite ironic for a game that's about bringing people together.
Man, you just nailed it this should be the header in metacritic.
Yeah I'm deciding on getting this for my series x or getting silent Hill 2 remake for my Pro.
Well if you have the money, why not get both? I only have a Series X so I have to wait till October '25 to get Silent Hill.
@@CobraChicken858 it's only 20 bucks on Xbox so I'll probably just get it and try it out.

It's weird how a Kojima fan as myself, I avoided this game for a very
long time. I finally bought it on 80% sale, and after 6 hours of playing
I felt like I had wasted my money. The beginning of the game was too
slow for my taste. Somehow I forced myself to continue playing it, and
what do you know, It turned out to be one of the best games I've ever
played. I've now played 150 hours and have 100% of the achievements. The
story is such a beautiful masterpiece and the gameplay is damn awesome.
I highly recommend every Kojima fan, to buy this game. Give it a chance
and after the slow start you'll most likely love it.
I just noticed that if you soothe BB while standing close to any structure that has music, he'll actually dance in his pod
