I played closed beta for The First Berserker Khazan and it was awesome. Perfect blend of Lies of P and Nioh. Just, amazing. Game jumped to my top 3 most anticipated game of 2025 after that.
The dev reverse engineered the engine so that the AI and NPCs runs of the GPU rather than the CPU; hence why they’re able to render literal armies on screen with little to no performance hitches
FYI: The name "Jan Dolski" (from The Alters) is unambigously male in polish (translates to "John", not "Jen"). I'm pretty sure they would go by "him" in vast majority of the variants :P
Edge had a good interview with the team behind it in the last issue. Made me even more excited because they clearly love what they are making and seem like they know what they want it to be. And what they don't want it to be which is equally good.
Expedition 33 has all of the tools to be a success, in my opinion. Great voice cast, good and interesting gameplay, and an interesting setting with great visuals. Fingers crossed that it sticks the landing on day 1.
Clair Obscura's combat reminds me of The Legend of Dragoon. I loved those button press combo attacks in LoD so much, that is one of the main reasons that I want to get this new game.
love your before you buy videos. they are really great. but when i see some older videos i realise some of them need some recheck or update you know! they are not complete pictures of a game since no games come out in a complete state these days! sad reality.. 😅
One that excited me was slitterhead, it was just released, I know a lot of people haven't really been too interested in it but i've been enjoying it, idk what it is about it, most people will ignore it or probably get it on sale if they wish to play, it is just a unique experience with gameplay elements I'd love to see in other games
Darkest of Days is the underrated video game that reminds me of Kingmakers. You travel back in time and you use modern weapons too. It was on XBox 360 and I think PC back in 2009.

Some of those AA gamey games look fun. Inzoi looks big budget quality which makes me think it's not AA but that matters not aslong as the finished game releases & is fun to play. Kingmakers i was aware of & i look forward to it, kind of reminds me of Army of Darkness a little, with much improved Boomsticks! Clair Obscur looks atlus stylish with its commands, the mix of turnbased mixed with real-time alters looks fun. The precinct looks fun, looks like a little like American Fugitive, will be interesting to check out. Showa looks like a mix styles & presented in a madcap way which is refreshing to see in the somewhat stale AAA studios unwilling to take risks. Nice countdown guys, i hope we get to see some of them bear fruit.
The Precinct is developed by the same studio if I'm not wrong. If they deliver a slightly more convincing story and more sensible quests, I'll consider it a AAA game easily!
I can't wait for Crimson Desert. If it delivers on the trailers and footage they showed off then it will be my favourite RPG in recent years. It's got Witcher 3 vibes with amazing graphics and so many RPG mechanics.
I have been so hyped about this game since I heard about it a couple of years ago! But the 50 minute gameplay they released recently put me off a bit. I’m hoping it’s an early version and the game comes out in a better state.
Expedition 33, First Berserker and Showa American Story are the highlights. Especially Showa, I mean, one of the sidequests is apparently to find a hooker willing to sit on an NPC's face. Hell of a concept.
The Alters and Expedition 33 are my 2 most anticipated games for next year and I fully believe that they will be "Game of the Year" contenders! I cannot wait to play both of them!
Quality has been slipping lately in these video lists from this channel. Not too long ago this channel didn’t even mention Metaphor in one of its New Games for x month lists. A lot of overused catch phrases, as well. Each error alone could be just human error, but in combination it’s falling into weird AI chat bot territory. Not an accusation, just something you see on AI bot channels.
Gaming in 2024 (IMO). Indie: New, niche gameplay innovations with a variety of ideas, passionate dev teams, and a pixel-art haven. AA: Standard gameplay (TPS, FPS) with a few unique mixed features for variety, graphics almost at AAA level but with a bit of jank. AAA: Just your typical TPS, FPS, and lots of cutscenes (with a few exceptions).

Showa American Story was on my wishlist so long that I had thought that game DIED. When I saw the trailer this past month I was so hyped. Other than that I appreciate this video because Inzoi and the precinct was not on my radar. Expedition 13 also loos amazing

AA games are such an underappreciated group of games. Some of my favorite games in recent years have been in that space. The stuff a game such as Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous was able to pull of was nothing short of amazing.
I used to think the concept of the game in Free Guy is pretty weird because no one actually wants to see a bunch of NPC doing NPC things, but with Inzoi and the SIM, I'm thinking my perception might be wrong
7:20 The problem is, that first Subnautica "full" gamers need for lonesome. So Subnautica-co-op, where you literally have to interact with other people, might be a recipe for disaster.

Some really exciting new titles coming out, with some real creativity in their premise. This is cool! Oddly, of all these, I might play Showa: An American Story first. Not my usual style or type of game, but looks really promising. Along with a decent slate of larger games coming up, gonna be a lot to hunker down with.
The first thing that popped into my mind when you talked about the background and stories of The Alters is Joel Edgerton's Dark Matter. Would be great to play a base building game with the TV-show's story line in mind.

4:00 Darkest of Days was a game that tried to do this, some sort of time travely sci-fi thing where you'd join major turning-point battles and eventually get non-period sci-fi weapons by the end of the missions, I can't remember if you take on the role of a time traveler or a soldier of the era who is given the non-period armaments.
I can’t wait to play Ark 2! I hope it’s like the first one where you try to play it but when you log on there are pillars everywhere so you can’t build anything. That’s my experience anyway.

Kingmakers gives me Helldivers 2 vibes in that it seems to blend insanity with hilarity. It looks fun as long as it it's optimized and runs well.

free guy is more like gta tho cause the players do whatever the hell they want but like I like ur point
free guy is more like the modern day equivalent of the skyrim the people who mod it so they can roleplay blacksmiths etc want

I played the alters demo and it had me hooked with the story and the alternate lifepath thing. It's probably one of my most anticipated game.
