It’s a bit hard on the Switch Lite but I am enjoying it so far. I only play coop with my PC friend so I lean on him to do all the heavy lifting due to the controller being slow to use.
My first time playing Factorio and it's on Switch. Controls are a faff so far but I'm still really enjoying it. Agree that hopefully the quirks get sorted. I'd like to see a comprehensive shortcut list for controls as I'm sure I'm missing some.
The game shows some controls on the bottom left of the screen and in the settings all of them can be re-binded if you don't like the default. If you do prefer a faster pace of play with easier controls I would definitely reccomend trying it out on pc.
You probably figured this out by now, but click the right thumb stick to turn the cursor on. For me it's on pretty much all the time, should just be on by default IMO.
Tried the demo just to confirm the worries I had after trying to make Factorio play well on a Steam Deck a few months back. I was almost certain the was no way they would come up with a way to play this game well on the Switch and now I know my prediction, while an easy one, was correct. The controls are a deal breaker. They are SO BAD, especially when you compare it to how it feels to play with mouse and keyboard. But, it's not like it's the dev's fault, what can they do? Factorio is a M&KB game, plain and simple. And even if you haven't played the game on PC before and don't have that frame of reference, I feel like you will spend most of your time trying to make sense of the controls since they are both clunky and very unintuitive with all the complicated multi button shortcuts (which isn't even enough for all the essential actions anyway...)
I think the controls are definitely a steep learning curve but after a while of playing I can tolerate it in my opinion. Obviously the ideal situation is pc but if you can handle the slower pace of play then it's doable lol
@@imfriggered4728 Less wild when you consider that there's other games on PC that are just like Factorio but arguably play better. Factorio is truly a unique entry to the Switch though, there's nothing else like it.

I love cities skylines! I have doom and factorio on my switch, as well with about 10 hours in doom and 25ish in skyrim :)

I've put so many hours into the demo, this game is addictive. The controls are second nature when you get used to it and experiment with the options

There's a learning curve, but after playing for a while and learning all the shortcuts, its like second nature
I actually prefer Factorio on Switch over PC, the controls are not even close to as bad as you say.
