As someone who works for a massive corporation I'm not the least bit surprised at how so many really neat concepts can get so derailed by the final product
It makes me so upset that Werewolf was mishandled. I hope that someday WTA can get the Vampire the Masquerade treatment, character creation, five forms you can transform into, breed choice, gifts, a proper story, etc.
Big same. I still remember seeing Capcom was working on a W:TA game in the 90s that was going to be an isometric action RPG and it got canned. Then there was the Unreal engine one from the late 90's that got canned. Werewolf needs and deserves good adaptation. Hell, I'd take a digital version of the RAGE CCG at this point.
there's a guy working by himself making a sprite style platformer inspired by this. he's just released alpha footage of the build. it's got it's own plot and such, however.
The sadist part of werewolf the apocalypse is that we are now vary unlikely to see another game with such a unique werewolf mechanics because this game makes it look like something nobody would play and that's such a crime! This game looked so damn awesome and I always want more werewolf games to match the abundant amount of vampire games...but now we will and have seen even less now.
I feel the same. Im so tired of the oversaturated Vampire Market. Lycans are so rarely used for main IPs. This goes for movies, games, and anime. Shame smh
One game I've wanted for as long as I can remember is a game that you play as a werewolf. A legit werewolf game were you run a pack, fight other monsters, ect. We have so many vampire games but no werewolf games so I was so excited for Werewolf Earthblood. I hate that it wasn't a good game
Can kinda do that if you want as a werewolf in Skyrim, there are mods to expand the werewolf stuff too, but I hear ya a legit werewolf game would be nuts!
I was practically raised on Werewolf: The Apocalypse. As someone who owns all the books from the original game form the '90s, I can say Earthblood nails the visual and audio style of that game perfectly. Shame it does the bare minimum with gameplay and story telling. But if you really want a great WtA game, go look up Heart of the Forest. It's more akin to a Telltale style, chose your own adventure. But it's very rich in immersive storytelling and the oppressive atmosphere the World of Darkness is known for. Which is what Werewolf was at its core: a storytelling game first. Action RPG second.
I love this channel for how much research goes into the games you all list. I can’t imagine how many games you’ve played from the mainstream to the obscure to figure out which ones are good to talk about.
But Falcon did not mention, Yuji Naka says he was removed as director of Balan Wonderworld by the other people on the team. There maybe more to it for research in that regard.

You and Jake are the best duo online. I watched a lot of different types of videos online and the dynamic that you display is the kind people should strive for. You & The Dynamic Duo Podcast but they’re literally twins.
Glad to see number one. I have always thought the idea of a survival horror that changed depending on what you filmed and would skip parts of the game when dying or running out of battery to pick up in another tense scenario would be really interesting. I know Echo didn't receive a lot of praise, but it does do some more of the adaptive AI people have always wanted. Though I hear it doesn't amount to more than go loud during the first half of the day, stealth at night, then alternate each day and you do just fine. The AI will only change it's playstyle based on one part of the day and it only changes whether they come at you or counter stealth.
Yeah, an open-world game where some kind of event happens across different parts of it, and you have to replay it and film different parts to put the story together and solve the mystery... it's an absolutely incredible idea on paper. You could have a time loop mechanic like Deathloop (but hopefully not as shallow), or play as different people experiencing the same thing, each with their own skills and abilities... it could be incredible if done right.
Ahh yes, and this is why I love this channel. The titles are uniquely unique, invokes curiosity and the videos themselves are very informative/entertaining. Added to that, I can come back here EVERYDAY and see something new. Keep it up guys!!!😁
X-Men Destiny. It was interesting playing as someone who wasn't an established X-Men character, someone we haven't already seen in a dozen movies, cartoons and games. Also it was a nice change of pace seeing an X-Men property that didn't boil down to Wolverine and his less-important friends.
I was disappointed with Werewolf the Apocalypse. I wanted a really cool Werewolf game, and this did not deliver. The only game I’ve seen of some merit is an older pc multiplayer game WolfTeam.
If Quantum Error was about $10, I'd probably give it a chance. I don't imagine there's many firefighting games without getting into simulators. Aside from the stealth sections, I had fun playing Werewolf: The Apocalypse. It's wasn't a great game, but going full aggro was entertaining. I wish more games let you play as a werewolf.
