Well, she feel it coming. I really understand her but that choice to give an advantages to another huge contender really cost her. I think she would beat Kayla in the Finale if Eric were to failed there.

At the same time I feel Marida was kinda reluctant to cook the crab. It’s a tricky meat and there’s only a few meat in the whole crab so in a way she kinda played safe

INSANE how professional level cooks can tell the difference between SECONDS of cooking.
It's a known delicate protein though, it's common to overcook them by the seconds. But I understand what you mean, their knowledge and skill really shows throughout the program.

Had she chosen the crab, probably she would have gone home and Eric and Kayla would have gone to the finale. She didn’t look as if she wanted to cook the crab.

Kayla should have chosen the crab if she is really serious in eliminating Eric and not depend on Marita to do it for her. She paid big.
To be fair she probably picked the scallops because it was what she was most comfortable with. I think she would've gotten eliminated still if she chose the crab and didn't know what to do with it.
She lost, either way. ✌️

masterchef always impresses me i could not imagine makeing a dish like that in an hour, especially new ones
its something that comes with practice. theyve probably been cooking for years and read cookbooks in their spare time to internalize what food/seasoning/etc/. goes well together

I know marida was a great cook, but I feel she didn’t deserve to go as far as she did. Pretty much the whole competition she was cooking Trinidadian food and roti and stuff she knew while other people cooked things outside their comfort zone. She maybe cooked something different once or twice and was never really called out for it unlike other people
So true man. I feel like she definitely got a little too far in the competition for everything that she did. Yes her flavors were great but she was probably the most one trick pony. It’s just that Kayla botched her advantage and that’s why she lost.
