However Ubercharge rate halves for longer whenever you increase overheal mastery - this is why it really isn't recommended to do overheal mastery to ensure maximum uber deploys, which is really useful with Kritzkrieg. Although with quick fix I'd upgrade it once to restore the overheal to normal.

The shield can also block Medics from *reconnecting* medi-gun beams, so coordinating with an airblast pyro can, theoretically, work. Though you're better off just letting your demo/sniper do the job.
I've been using the Medic Shield as a weapon for years: balance the healing with the hurting. In the right hands, you can reliably get well over 90K damage as a Medic or more in many Advanced difficulty missions. I even managed this Snowplow Medic strategy, as I call it, while very drunk on a Livestream years ago. Obviously, there are more efficient strats to clear missions in MvM, but it's nice to have some useful and effective variety in methods, especially since RNG for loot in Mann Up is most unforgiving: no matter how quickly you may complete tours of duty.

@@TheSkyShaft I have not had good luck with MvM drops in a while, but I still have a lot of fun with the game mode, especially helping new players. :) As far as bots go, thankfully, I have yet to encounter them in MvM. The only real problems I come across, though quite rarely, are aimbotting cheaters, elitist jerks, griefers and players with bad attitudes. Again, this all tends to be rare. I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm running a tour, then. ^_^

In most ways, especially in pvp, the shield is better than Uber. I’d argue the stats would have to make it worse than stock in every way to trade for shield because your entire team would be able to just walk forward without worrying about spam and threatening to kill them with the shield, instead of just flashing several people for 4 seconds.

I've played probably too much MvM and I never knew it blocked melee hits or that it charged from blocking damage while ubered (although, since demoknights usually walk though the shield and most medics use the Kritzkrieg I guess it's not all that surprising I never noticed)

I can confirm with modding that this effect is broken in pvp environments. The amount of damage it does is insane and the medic just suddenly deploys it and can just mow down any class, even pyro, who can shoot through it, will usually lose because of how gigantic it is and that it does more damage than the flamethrower. It also charges insanely quickly, so killing the medic is almost impossible if he knows you’re coming.

Ability to block melee hits, both from enemy and friendly units(like engieer wrench). You can protect your allies from melee enemies by separating them by shield or even yourself by shield-shifting (that's what I call shield-stopping) 3. Ability to block Robot Medic's effects (both healing and uber) on the robots by tweaking aim angle while shield-stopping. (that's what I call shield-stopping) 4. The difference between lvl1 and lvl2 shield slow) down (like in 4:53). I always thought number 2 was more a glitch than a mechanic. It's even worse when you have 2 Medics on a team, and you can't heal someone because the other Medic's shield is in the way. I don't have any proof, but I would assume the game is thinking the shield is a solid object (like a map prop), so it doesn't allow you to heal someone or let Engi upgrade their stuff if there's a shield in the way.
@@gabrielwoj You definitely can heal through the other Medic's shield, this is a misconception from the wiki I already fixed. You cannot START healing through the other shield - that's correct. I don't think the game treats the shield as some kind of solid object like a wall, because fire still can pass through it. Still, it has something similar to solid objects.
@@SU76M Yeah, but it's important for Medics to switch patients all the time during the battle, and it's very annoying dealing with this bug, therefore, it's still a problem, and the reason why I think this is more of a bug than a feature. I don't think Valve realized that 2 Medics are possible in MVM. Because one, this shield oddity, and two, whenever 2 Medics are reviving 1 teammate, the camera doesn't know what to do, and keep switching between both Medics. The Projectile Shield page has that bug on the Bugs section, and it does mention that patients that were already being healed doesn't break.

TIL you revive low HP classes faster. This will change my revive priority when our team is in a sticky situation maybe reviving say our Teams Pyro/Scout is better in the short tern since 2 players will always outperform 2 player amd they can spread their DPS among more enemies etc

tip: standing in front of a giant and looking straight down will completely block the giant from moving and you won't take damage
