100% on the trade value, I told my dealer exactly what Carvanna offered. He was honest and said he couldn’t match that. I ended up selling to Carvanna and using the equity from my sale as a cash down payment. The process was super easy and my dealership wasn’t stressed about it

I watched LOTS of videos on 3 row SUV's ( at least half of your videos) and decided on either a Kia Telluride or a Hyundai Palisade so I went to a dealership that had one of each and test drove both of them and absolutely fell in love with the Palisade! I found a dealership that wasn't charging above MSRP so I put a deposit down on a Moonlight Cloud Palisade Calligraphy. I picked it up 6 weeks later and am thrilled with it! Thank you so much for your videos! I don't have kids but I do have 2 dogs that ride in car seats so I wanted to make sure that they would have enough room. I adore you and your videos are awesome!

being upfront about other trade in offers was highly useful in my buying experience! dealer offered me $2000 more right away and it was a done deal.

Great pointers! I used a lot of these the last time I bought a car a few years ago and they definitely helped! Glad to know the tips I found before are the same ones you're talking about here :)

This is awesome!! I hope this video goes viral so both sides see it and car buying becomes FUN! The last two vehicles I bought new (no trade-in) pre-chip shortage and pre-covid - I went to the highest rate dealer that showed the exact vehicle I wanted as “on the lot”. Didn’t know about the weekday or make an appointment you suggested, but clearly got lucky with two individuals that did make the process fast. Both vehicles I financed through my credit union, and had the approval in hand. Took test drives and short negotiation, because both cars were unique/rare option combinations and I wanted them more than getting that “last dollar”. In and out in 90 minutes including the test drive, they were both positive experiences, but I’ll follow your plan next time to make it even better! Picked the cars up a couple days later, which still took less than a hour with the instructions to my wife and I.

I agree about doing as much of your research as possible about trims and such before you get there, but I'm not sure if shrinking your list down to 2-3 cars is the best idea, necessarily. We test drove 5 vehicles and we ended up deciding on the 5th. If we had stuck with my original hunch, we wouldn't have ever gotten there.

My experience scheduling it is a complete joke. Schedule and talk to someone about exactly what you want to drive and then walk in, that person is busy and they strap you with someone that has no idea and you have to start from square one.
Also trying to save time and mostly buy online is a complete joke. Submit all your information, insurance, trade in, license etc. and again get tol the dealer and they ask for everything and act like it didn't happen so they can show you a completely different deal than the one that you basically completed online.

Ok question. You have a trade in but only find one dealership around that has the car you want. How do you go about getting offers on your trade in without wasting time at dealerships you aren't interested in?

I always do all of my research ahead of time. Then I just need to find the exact vehicle I want online and pick it up at the dealership after a short test drive.

If we have a leased car and are wanting to buy and own a new car from a different dealership, so we still need to bring those things like price verification? Is the only place that will take our leased car the original dealership? Thanks!

so you go to 3 dealers, they all low ball your trade. You're working with crappy cards asking a dealer to match a bunch of lowball offers isn't really a deal is it?

Why do you assume younger buyers will ever be able to afford a house? A car could end up being the most expensive thing you end up buying. Why do you need proof of resideency to buy a car?

Another good piece of advice is to only pay cash for whatever you can afford. No one should finance a vehicle.

I would take a drive just to meet you in person. Question. It's 2023, used car prices are going down. I need a vehicle asap! But now I'm thinking of waiting a month or 2. Any suggestions?
