  • If you are in the market for a new midsize SUV, you may be overwhelmed by the number of options available. It can be difficult to determine which SUV will be reliable and you can depend on it in the longer run.
According to Consumer Reports - Reliability indicates how models have performed in the past, providing the basis for predicting how the new vehicles will hold up in the years ahead. CR uses owner survey data they receive for over 300,000 vehicles, plus for newer models the CR automotive engineers use the technical spec, test-drive info and the brand reputation.
We have compiled 10 most reliable midsize SUVs you can buy as per Consumer Reports.

Aside from front running Toyota and Lexus, I’ve had phenomenal luck and success with the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and the larger Outlander. Biggest bang for the buck! My family has owned 4 Mitsubishi over the past 10 years and 200k plus miles. Absolutely reliable, dependable and economical. Zero defects on all 4 cars too!! Dealers wheel and deal and I’m completely happy with their service departments. My only complaint was the factory standard Nexen tires, which are garbage after 20k miles. I swapped them out for Michelin Defenders and the ride and handling were significantly better. PS the Mitsubishi’s 4wd system absolutely slays our nasty Ohio winters.

As the owner of a 2022 Ford Edge SEL I’d highly recommend it an I can believe that the 23 Edge will be just as good far as reliability, mine currently has about 20k miles it handles rough terrain very efficiently, extremely comfortable seats and rear seat space is more than enough and super comfortable especially on long trips. Very stylish leather interior, aggressive exterior with lovely chrome detailing, and good ground clearance. I live in Michigan so I know it’s very good in the snow and heavy rain I feel safe and stable driving it, wind noise non existent, little to no tire noise, very responsive steering and throttle with excellent breaking. The Edge is a wonderful car with adequate power and very fun to drive aggressively only complaint is pre-collision assist which alerts you if it senses the car rapidly approaching other cars and I feel it’s decent but not entirely useful as it turns down music and flashes a red crash animation on the gauge cluster but it doesn’t do anything to stop you from crashing (e.g no emergency breaking) also feel the backup camera is lacking for instance on a sunny day the camera can be pretty hard to see but no malfunctions, all sensors work and if they are dirty the car will basically tell you to wash it😂 overall I’d give the 2022 Ford Edge a 100 overall I love it.

It’s the most reliable and I only paid $40K. I plan on buying a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser and putting a lift and aggressive tires. Park sensors and better sound systems should now be standard on these units but are not. If you want them yiu new to move to a much pricier car . There is a trade off I guess. They are all top reliable good mid size SUVs but if you're not into vehicles that have a lot of plastic interior you're not going to like these they definitely have too much plastic interior that's a thumbs-down for me I'm into real genuine leather real wood interior sorry I'm very picky about what I want😍
