In this video we go over a basic overview on how you can install a TrackMateGPS tracker on your car and the included relay for kill switch. Hardwired so it can’t be removed (like Bouncie) or noticed by guests (like AirTags). Plans starting as low as $10/month, no contracts.

I’ve been searching for months on a tutorial, diy, or how to video for this specific model of gps tracker with kill switch relay! Thank you for the upload! Hopefully install goes well !
Thanks! I hope it helps. I just did a basic install since every car is different, but let me know if you have any questions, maybe I can help you figure it out. This is my 5th or 6th install now. Lol.
@@CarSharingJho I'm planning to do 1 on a Toyota land cruiser 2018 smart key can you give me some advice any how please?
@@CarSharingJho that’s a lot of work. To install the GPS
@@dashtyATG for the keyless entry vehicle you will have to install a relay to the fuel pump near the fuse box or ACC relay inside the engine bay.
Absolutely phenomenal, thank you. Clear, to the point. Im putting one on a truck and you made it very easy for me to identify power/ground/Accessory. Thank you
I’m glad it helped! Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊
Knowing how to install a tracker is the best way to locate and uninstall a tracker that is still active on a vehicle you just purchased
Yeah we’ve actually found old trackers on two of our cars. Probably from when they were financed long ago.
Hello, which trackmate model do you recommend for gmc 2500? Also will auto start work?
Good job !!
It looks pretty easy.
Excellent explication.

This video and comments were very helpful thank you so much
All you needed to do is drop the driver side panel, wire off the ignition. Wrap with electrical to mimic factory style, get on your back and mount high behind the cluster, tie strap, clean up the routing of harness, finished. 30 minutes max.
When you hardwire, don't you need to add a fuse inline? Also, hardwiring, doesn't that overload the wire you're tapping into?
Only the 12v constant (red wire) is drawing power and it has a built in fuse inline.
Working power consumption is .78W and working current is 65mA.
I haven’t had any issues overloading a wire in 20+ cars I’ve wired it to.
You can also always connect the 12V constant to the battery as we did on our other video.
Will it work on the latest AMGs, and if so will I need to hire any professional audio installer or take it to Mercedes to have them do it instead?
Happy new year by the way, great video, after so many months it's still helpful.
Thank you! Yes it will work on virtually any vehicle! For an AMG, I would recommend hiring a professional installer. I've heard Best Buy installs these trackers as well.
@@CarSharingJho thank you for replying me within 5 hours, advice and your wonderful service. GOD bless you.
Understood.
Thank you sir.
Yes Sir this video was super helpful me as well. Just have one question please.
I can’t seem to find how to activate the kill switch in the app. Is it in Groups page? On off slider?
Thank you Sir
Im not sure where the groups page is. But to activate the kill switch you click on your vehicle on the app and then click the up arrow ( ^ ) there you will see the option to "disable ignition."
Mine said to ,Find and cut off the anodic wire of oil pump wire, connect two green line to each side of cutted oil pump wire . ? The relay looks just like the one you have with green wires and everything should I do same set up?
I don't know why disabling the oil pump would be a good idea. Unless the car recognizes that and disables the vehicle altogether. I wouldn't risk it.
I like disabling the ignition because it doesn't cause any major issues if the person keeps trying to turn it on or is somehow able to jump it another way.
That is the easiest to understand tutorial ever
Thank you! I'm glad you found it useful.
What is the best kill-switch to use
TrackmateGPS works great!
Does tje killswitch work if the car is running?
It will enable, but it won’t do anything if to the car if it’s already on. It just won’t turn on the next time the person goes to turn it on.
It just disables the ignition.
@@CarSharingJho thanks man!
@@CarSharingJhoand if is connected to the fuel pump?
How will I track the car on my phone
Does it need app
Yes there is an app for it. TrackmateGPS.
Make a video on the track app itself showing what it has to offer, for example I’ve been trying to find a tracker that shows real time gps and speed the car is going, etc..
We have actually reached out to the makers of this tracker to see if they would like us to make them an in-depth video they can use on their website.
I will tell you one thing though, this tracker does not offer the ability to tell you the speed of the vehicle.
@@CarSharingJho ohh man sucks!!! I really want a tracker than can do that
@@richgenix some hosts use two trackers. Bouncie that monitors speeding, braking, on board computer, etc. And a hidden hardwired tracker like TrackMateGPS. That way if your guest disabled your OBD port Bouncie by unplugging it, you still have the backup TrackMateGPS to kill switch and remote door locks.
@@CarSharingJho I’ll consider and look into it thanks so much
I installed 4 of the "Dash T11" model in my neighbors cars, one was in his teenage son's Mustang. They work Great! There are 5 different "Service Plans" with the main difference being how quickly they update location so if you want real time location it will cost a little more but it is possible. This device got the son out of a racing ticket, by downloading the info from the tracker, he was able to show the Judge that the vehicle never broke the speed limit!
You are amazing thanking you enurmusly it's really good video.
Hello Car Sharing Jho. I'm little confused about transferring the device for one vehicle to another? does it requires monthly service from provider? and what kind of SIM card requires? Thanks very helpful video. Might have another questions.
Transferring from one car to another is simply done by renaming the device on the app. I pay $10/month for every car through Trackmate's website. SIM car is already installed.
@@CarSharingJho .. one question. is the Trackmate shows where the ground and ignition switch cable are connected to the module along with the relay? is seem to be easy, but is not? specially thw relay and the ignition switch to the module. thanks.
Can the trucker affect the car in anyway or does the trucker stop working when there is network problems??
The tracker would not affect the car in any way.
what if phone do not have internet? Is there a manual or a separate FOB to enable and disable the ignition?
There is not. You would have to manually rewire the kill switch out
@@CarSharingJho Is there a product similar to this that offers a fail safe? Something like a separate remote in case my phone ran out of data or battery? or maybe a switch or button to reset it manually?
Will this same setup work for the s400 and 4Runner planning on putting them on rent.
Yes it would work. But I would suggest the TrackMateGPS Dash T11 instead, so you can unlock the doors remotely.
Awesome!!!..Thank you soooooo very much. This is very helpful. A blessing it is!!!
I'm having issues finding a 12v constant in my 2020 Nissan Pathfinder.
One of these can help you test wires better. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NY89V7D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There should be one going to the display. But if you ultimately cannot find one, you can run one from the battery. I did it here in minute 4 of my other video. ua-cam.com/video/alPScCKM8pk/v-deo.html&ab_channel=CarSharingJho

I am planning to get into Turo and have been researching how to add a gps tracker. Thanks for the video. One question, I know that this requires a 4G LTE sim from either T Mobile or At&T. If I am not mistaken, both companies are planning or started killing the 4G LTE for 5G, How does this affect the TrackMate?
As far as I’m aware only 3G was phased out and 4G should be around for a couple more years.
@@CarSharingJho thanks for the quick reply.
So u connected the kill switch with the ignition wire instead of the fuel pump?
Yes
What is the tool used to pinch the cable in order to read the voltage
wire piercing probe
I have failed make car tracker online.
How do i get to it.
If it’s not working through the website you can call TrackMateGPS support and they’ll get it setup in no time.
Thank you for this amazing video. Please May I know where to get the app?
It’s on the App Store. But I prefer to use the web browser on “desktop mode” because the app is a little buggy right now.
How about connecting this to the fuel relay instead of the ignition?
You can. I just didn't want people to not know it was disabled and keep cranking the starter and burn it out.
scramick yes That was my thought, the fuel line. on my opinion it is the best. On the start relay if you are driving a manual car, the engine can run by kick start the car
Brother, I have a Prius, that means it doesn't have a starter. You know where could I find the correct wire to connect the ignition cutoff? Everything else is working properly, except the ign switch.
You could try hooking it up to the immobilizer or the fuel pump. What year is the Prius?

@@MiketheM1K3 I personally prefer the ignition switch or starter.
If it’s just the fuel pump, the person trying to start it could damage the starter in the process if they don’t know it’s kill switched. They would just keep trying to turn it on.

Will the car switch off whilst moving
Being wired this way, it will not. It just will not turn on again when they try to start it again.
Yellow of the relay go to?
it is combined with one of the green wires on the relay.
Well I tried everything. Even paid for mechanic to telle where the starter wire is. I tried installing it myself but the kill switch doesn't work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. When I hit disengage starter, it says sent. Yet when I go to start it it starts right up. Does it take time for it to work or is it instant?
There is a 5-10 second delay.

If you just want a kill switch then the Hydro LTE is the one. If you want it to have door unlock feature too (which I recommend) then get the Dash T-11 with accessory bundle.

hey brother. If I purchase the T11 for example does it come with the kill switch? If not where would I get one? Thank you.
The kill switch and remote unlock is sold as the "accessory bundle." We bought off ours Amazon. It's $20 or a couple dollars cheaper if you buy them together.
The kill switch
Or Starter Interrupt
Is a relay that costs about 75 cents
$1.50 if you include the harness
The only person you are locking out is the one with the key.
Almost all vehicles after 1998 have some sort of immobilizer which is more sophisticated than a relay
