I’ve been making kill switches since the 80’s for my vehicles. This is a smart design and saves cutting into wires. For those saying thieves will figure this out, they have never actually talked to a car thief. There’re not going to sit in someone’s driveway trying to find a small hidden switch, they’ll simply move on to yours.

Back in the day, I put a Ford starter relay on the inner fender of my ‘80 Fleetwood Brougham. Powered the relay from the power door lock switch. Took the starter solenoid wire across the relay. Had to press and hold the power door lock button to start the car. Back when nothing ran through a module.

I just talked my brother in-law to get one for his 2024 Raptor, the turds stealing cars here around Denver can clone a key and have the truck gone in 30 seconds. Why are people crying that this kit is $100?!!!
The labour involved in making this kit is probably a few hours, worth way more than $100. Good for this guy for building an effective product and keeping the price down.
The chances of someone taking the time to diagnose why a vehicle won’t start while they are trying to steal it are way low, most of these guys spend less than a minute before they move to the next one.

Love the idea, but not a fan of the toggle. I have had a Kill Switch in my TJ for 10-15 years, forget the name of the company. It uses a magnetic reed switch. You hide it somewhere in the dash or elsewhere and when you pass the magnet by it, it flips the switch and allows the vehicle to start. Nobody can tell/knows where that switch is hidden but you. If you had that option instead of a toggle, I would buy one.

Nope. I have a better idea... i have been using it for years. I have also put one in my friend's cars. And they work great. The relay thing is dumb. And you can't really patent a relay because it is a switch. It's like you're trying to reinvent the wheel. The best way to do it is to interrupt the signal going to the crank sensor. If you have no crank signal your fuel pump and your ignition system will not work. It could crank all you want, but it will not work My switch costs me only five dollars to make.

It’s a good idea for a kill switch but, preventing the starter from cranking is a clear sign to a thief a kill switch is in effect. A better circuit is to kill the fuel pump. The car may start momentarily but, it will quickly stall preventing theft. They can crank it all they want with no start and you may be able to catch them in the act. That relay may work for the fuel pump. If not, they should make one that does.

So, essentially it is a modded relay, with a push switch on a pigtail, that is series wired to the relay coil. One sentence says it all🤔. BTW, you can still push start your car(if its possible) anyways, just need few arms to push, before changing to gears🤫. Suggestions for a value add-on is to have a bluetooth proximity module, instead of a pigtail push switch.❤👍

They have really fallen short of actually making a usable, reliable and fail safe automatic steal stopping device. Years ago, there was a key pad device attached to the relay. The key pad was the size of a Zippo style lighter that could be placed just about anywhere. A four digit code had to be entered to activate the relay. Once the vehicle was shut down, the relay would de-energize and the code had to be re-entered to once again start the vehicle.
This little device should be similar. A momentary on toggle switch to a latching relay would be the answer to make this so much better.

    • @Nick-ue7iw
      @Nick-ue7iw 3 місяці тому

No, since roll starting was something you did if you had no starter. Cutting power to the starter wont fix that. You would need to use a toggle to force the clutch safety on, which would prevent the ignition from activating.

Traditional ways to start the car won't work. Obviously someone tries to steal the car, they have the key or fob. Car won't start, they pop the hood open up the fuse box see this wire on one of the relays they pop it out toss a relay from another spot in it. Car starts gone in 90 seconds extra step.
They have a jump wire pull it the relay, to touch 30 and 87 car starts.
3 foot alligator clip wire clip on to the solenoid then touch the other end to the positive. Car starts.
If someone wants your car they will come prepared to take it.

Solenoid can be reached from under the jeep, no need to open the hood, 12v battery in my pocket. They make small 12v battery's.

Traditional Kill Switches are nothing new--yes, you can gather up all the components and wiring it up the traditional method yourself if you want to tackle locating the proper wires and cutting into them. Our kit offers a more simple turn-key DROP-IN solution which does NOT require the car owner to cut into factory wiring. It also comes with high-grade waterproof connectors and wiring.

For folks with the knowledge on what wires to cut and willing to cut into factory wiring, the traditional DIY method is great. However, our kit offers a drop-in no cut solution for the rest of us who do not want to void the warranty or possibly cut into the wrong wiring.

Because they have no idea why the vehicle isn't starting and don't plan on spending more than 30 seconds to a minute on the vehicle before moving on. But experienced thieves will spend a minute looking at the few locations where a kill switch may be hidden.

They know these things are out there and go for the low hanging fruit. Most of these crooks aren’t going to risk digging under the hood to look for relays and whatnot. Adding more time to steal a car isn’t worth the risk when they can go find another one that’s easy.
