I'm aware of the various visual and audio issues in the video. As you may have guessed, I had issues with the editor. Instead of redoing the entire video, I've gone ahead and posted it in the current state. I can talk more about it in the discord if you're curious, otherwise enjoy! This took far longer than expected. I'll do a space age run sooner than later, though I'm looking to play another game first. I'm most the way through a first playthrough of space age, so when I do get around to it, I'll know what to expect. Additionally, this was the first of my "variety" videos that I'll be posting. I'm still sticking to the vague category of games that make me think, but I'll be playing some games other than X-COM in the hopes that people enjoy them. This will allow me to play the crazy mega mods people have been asking for (think X-COM Files), and I'd love to play one of these mods without disappearing for a year or more. Let me know what you think, and if you'd like to see some of the big Factorio mods in the future.
Having watched this blind, about half on my second monitor and half on my phone while cooking dinner, I didn't really notice the frame drops. I tend to watch compilation videos like this while I'm doing other stuff so I don't think it affects it too badly. I did notice some choppiness in the audio specifically with 'copper' at 1:24. Rechecking to see if I could see the frame issue I also noticed the audio at 0:09. I don't think the audio or visual hiccups are deal breakers for posting this though.
Tyty, I was hoping that this would be the case. The audio is an issues are little edits I had to make due to pops and such I noticed after I had the ability to re-record. Not great, but far less jarring than before. I'll leave this unlisted for now so youtube can work through its various processing tasks, but will likely release this in a day or two. Thanks again for your feedback!
Ive been thinking about getting factorio for years but I never had. Hey, any plans to play xcom apocalypse? Thats my absolute favorite. Played tf out of it in the late 90s-early 2000s. (Yeah. Im old.)
@PotatoCaravan Ooo, awesome. I didnt know Open Apoc was being worked on. I actually like Apoc better than UFO defense. I like UFO defense but I am (even to this day as an early middle aged person) way not patient enough for it and get myself in trouble because I go charging around and try to do too much too fast. This vid has convinced me Id like factorio though. Think Im gonna grab it. I just watched all the way thru your UFO defense and Terror from the Deep vids, now this one. And when your Apoc vid comes out, Ill watch that too!
@@childofcascadia Tyty! I play UFO defense a bit fast myself, and have recieved a number of comments about that on the video, so it's not just you. Have fun with Factorio!

I love watching people play Factorio, but never really could get into myself. This was a great video. Also 23:02 had me laughing more than it should.
Thanks for watching! Factorio is one of those games that's hard to get into. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Yep, I'm waiting on OpenApoc atm. Once that's done I'll make a video on Apocalypse.
